Review: ??? is behind Abstract Grooves Vol 2 and delivers a very solid follow-up to their debut on Tackle Audio, showcasing a perfect fusion of tech house and dub reggae influences. 'Day 2 Night' opens the release with a vibrant and upbeat tech house groove. It's full of energy, with a funky rhythm that makes it an instant dancefloor mover, highlighting the producer's ability to blend dub vibes into the house sound. 'Feet Amongst The Clouds' introduces a smoother, more atmospheric feel, driven by a strong reggae vocal sample and heavy dub influence. The fusion of reggae with house adds depth and a soulful edge to the groove, making it equally suited for both relaxed listening and dancefloor sessions. On the flip side, 'AM Bubbles' slows things down with a laid-back dub jam, perfect for winding down while maintaining the dub house vibe. Perhaps, our favourite of the three songs. Abstract Grooves Vol 2 is an impressive, genre-blurring release from Tackle Audio, blending funk, dub, and house seamlessly.

&Me and Black Coffee make for something of an Afro house dream team here. The latter has long been this sound's pin-up and has gone from playing in South African townships to producing with Beyonce and winning Grammy Awards over the last decade. Now deep in his latest Ibiza season, he unveils collaborative track 'The Rapture' (Pt III), a deep rolling cut with spine-tingling chords and a rich atmosphere. &ME then goes solo for 'LIFE', a shuffling percussive groove with spoken words and enchanting chords to make for a classy two-tracker.

Review: Adam Port, &ME and Rampa at team up with Little Dragon are quite the collaboration here on 'Saving My Love', a one track 12' where the deep house sound of Berlin collides with Swedish pop sensibilities. Proper mood music for late night basement parties, the Keinemusik trio's idiosyncratic style of bold, emotive and futuristic groove is the perfect backdrop to Yukumi Nagano's breathtaking vocals. Review: Since returning to action in 2016 after a seven-year break, 1990s techno survivor Lee Renacre AKA 100 Hz has released some of the best music of his career. This fine four-tracker marks the long-serving Londoner's first outing on Romanian imprint Amphia, who are best known for serving up sparse, minimalistic tech-house. As you'd expect, there's a slightly fuller sound here, though sonically it's as pleasingly druggy and mind-mangling as much of the imprint's output. Renacre brilliantly flits between trippy, arpeggio-driven, house-tempo techno (the otherworldly 'Machines of May'), dubstep-influenced UK bass/techno fusion ('Gadget', which echoes the ethos of his early 100 Hz releases with James Chapman), intergalactic tech-house ('Dark as Night'), and frankly filthy low-end wobblers ('Swiss').

Review: The career rebirth of long-serving British duo 100Hz, whose fine debut 12" "Low Frequency Overload" dropped way back in 1989, continues apace. Following fine recent outing on Bosconi and Veniceberg they resurface on Howl. There's naturally much to admire, from the mildly foreboding electronics, swirling chords and rubbery drum machine beats of "Howl009.1" and vintage bleep-meets-Jaydee throb of "Howl009.2", to the bass-heavy, pitched-down weirdness of closer "Howl009.4". Arguably best of all, though, is the analogue positivity of "Howl009.3", where bright electric piano lines and Balearic synthesizer flourishes work in glorious union with ragged acid bass and a bustling, breakbeat house rhythm.

Review: More wicked grooves from the vaults of UK legends 100 Hz. Comprised of Lee Renacre, James Chapman and Doran Walker, the team behind the seminal Format imprint have had retrospective works reissued on the likes of Bosconi, Slow Life and Howl in recent times - so indeed you can recognise the trio's influence on a new generation of underground house producers. Here they inaugurate Doozy Cult from Lisbon, with some timeless snapshots of bleep techno as heard on the cyclical hypnotism of "Tomfoolery", the tunnelling minimal techno of "Lapiz Boof" and the ethereal shuffle of "Neptune" on the flip - that is just as suited to present day afterhours parties as it was way back when.

Review: 2Phargon is an alias from Lee Mortimer, aka Friend Within, Sawtooth Sucka and many more names. Mortimer's prolific output speaks to his skill in the studio, which is of course why he was picked up by the mighty Dirtybird for this 12" of appropriately quirky groovers catering to the vibe Claude Vonstroke et al have been championing all these years. 'Feel A Little Strange' is a big, bashy rave monster with buzzing rave synths upfront and chunky tech house backbone to the beat, while the vocal sample waves the freak flag high. 'Micro' harks back to the mid 00s minimal sound Dirtybird emerged from, with plenty of playful and heady melodic flourishes to send the vibe skywards.

Review: Berlin's Ewax are back with more lush yet tough deep house goodness, on another various artists compilation. Starting out on the A side with the smooth late night groove of "The Old Shit" by Spanish duo Carlos Vila & Hector Avila aka 2vilas while the second offering on the A side comes courtesy of The Willers Bros with "Quantise" where the EGG London residents throw down some loopy swing fuelled tech house. On the flip Julien Sandre & Mennie turn the heat up on "Spacer" (our personal favourite on here!) while Laurent Ci's "Turn" shows us something emotive to dance to.
