The second instalment in this series explores the works of Beninese supergroup T.P. Orchestre Poly-Rythmo and bandleader Clement Melome. The 1977 track 'Unite Africaine', originally on a self-titled album, promotes African unity. Canopy enlists Jose Marquez and Sol Power All-Stars for modern interpretations and first up Marquez deepens the mood with live bass, percussion and synths staying true to the original. Sol Power All-Stars, who are experienced in woking with Poly-Rythmo's music, add live drums, disco FX and fresh arrangements, thereby subtly enhancing the track while preserving its spirit in a danceable remix.
