How Deep Is Your Love? vinyl

On its original release in the summer, "How Deep Is Your Love" signalled an impressive return to form from New York punk-disco combo The Rapture. Here it returns, with A-Trak and Populette offering two differing interpretations of the mighty original. A-Trak's "Dub For Mehdi" is a touching tribute to the sadly-departed Ed Banger-affiliated DJ/producer. As you'd expect, it offers Ed Banger style indie-dance thrills - all relentless pianos, thick electro-house bottom end and the simplest of raw 303 tweaks. Populette, meanwhile, up the analogue synth count on a bubbling, floor-friendly version that demands repeat listens. As with all of their material, it appears raw and well polished in equal measures.
