Johann Rashid and Paul Harmon are the minds behind the new Promise Land project, a gritty mish-mash of late 80's digital dancehall, spoken word and indie thrashing. "Recall" is a zoned-out, head-space kinda tune - gritty, crispy percussion sliding smoothly behind a wail of messed up vocals and bleeping synths. Canyons Sands Of Time give the track a good old refix and twist it up into a real knot! Even stranger, more surprising melodies take control behind the faint glow of remaining vocals - and let's not forget those much needed bongos, of course! Recommended.
