T-Ski Valley's 'Big Stuff' is a joyous mix of musical influences and inspirations from rap to breaks, dub to roots. It arrived back in 1982 and is a seven-minute workout of sublime qualities. The beats are lazy and languid, the production is both contemporary with its sleek synths, but vintage in the dust aesthetic. The sung-spoken vocals are hard not to love as they come over with a great sense of cool. Don't like them? Don't sweat it. The flip-side is an instrumental version from Grand Groove Bunch with a playful groove and more percussion layered in.
