This is a glorious example of the highlife sound with some extra digital funky touches that really make it pop. The Ghanian producer Frimpong Manso is the man who made it so when it was recorded back in 1987 at the Ghana Films Studio in Accra. The title Boafo Ne Nyame can be translated as "Helper is god" and the super sweet voice of K. Adusei is the lead vocalist who helps lodge these tunes deep in your soul. Each of the five tracks goes long and is filled with hypnotic hi-life grooves, deeply funky guitar licks that bring plenty to each tune, and tight drumming that oils the whole affair nicely.
