While we're still none the wiser as to the identity of those behind the Skylevel crew, their fifth round of edits - after nearly 12 months of hibernation - are as top notch as we've come to expect from the outfit. The raucous slap-bass funk of "Changes" kicks things off, with abstract bleeps and sweeps adding some spice to the classic disco vocal, while the downtempo jazz cut-up of "Picture Tomorrow" brings some class to proceedings with its dusty guitar licks. On the flip, "Watch Your Step" pulls out the big guns with its simple but deadly filtered disco loop, offering just enough of the original vocal to set the floor alight, while "Smiling Stranger" delivers a soulful Balearic chugger filled with Indian tabla drums. As ever, the intricate artwork and fine production values elevate this above your standard disco edits - must check!
