In a surprising turn, Lexx, the Zurich DJ and Balearic exotica expert, makes his debut on International Feel with Into the Stream. It's certainly been worth the wait, as the album stands as one of his finest works, blanching the hot kernel of early 90s electronica in tranquiliser beachscapes and caresser flows. Curiously, he takes after "one of his favourite bands" whose name has otherwise not been disclosed: 'Into The Stream', 'Ode To The Mode' and 'Abun-Dance' play cleverly with fantasy arcs collectively indulged by 80s teenagers, desperate to break the spotlight, though he also quells these teen dreams with restful sample cut ups and popout hi-hat rattles. The aim? To "tap in to the abundant Balearic bliss that surrounds us."
