Selected Sound Remixes Part 1 vinyl

Stones Throw's James Pants and sometime Clone/PPU contributer Tom Noble are the first artists granted the keys to the back catalogue of legendary German sound library Selected Sounds. Overseen jointly by Faces Records, Les Disques Superfriends and Moula Moula Publishing, this intriguing remix series gets off to a fine start with the aforementioned artists focusing solely on the music of the legendary jazz drummer Klaus Weiss. Pants goes into dubbed out boogie overload on the breaks heavy rendition of "Drums Around", which expands the percussive origins into a sprawling epic filled with fuzzy warmth. Noble tackles the more frenetically paced "Drumcrazy", reshaping the electro origins into a driving disco jam notable for the soaring chords that rise throughout. Originals of both are included for comparison so you get a true idea of how accomplished the revisions are.
