Erik RICO presents 53RD STREET QUINTET
Mexico's Erik Rico relaunched his LifeNotes label last year with a new album The Journey Continues and now he continues the good form shown there with The Arrival, a new EP which sees him present the 53rd Street Quintet. They bring all manner of percussive excellence and hot Latin influence to his organic house sounds across a series of cuts that we can imagine being huge at the legendary New York parties Body & Soul. 'The Arrival' is all liquid chords and jumbled hits and brass, 'The Offering' has a lush broken beat skip and 'The Awakening' has a deeper vibe. 'The Offering' gets a pair of fresh garage reworks on the flip.
