This is the fourth installment of the Take Fingz series by DJ Katch, the renowned Australian turntablist and producer active since the late 90s. Katch has effortlessly built up a characteristically "furtive" sound; something in his choice of samples, centring on streetwise funk and jazz, plus distinctive mixing of iconic verses from throughout hip-hop history, make for a feeling of being watched by undercover cops and/or of much being at stake. 'Give Me The Message' comes as a funky mashup of Grandmaster Flash's classic and a, plus a stripped-down alternate version on the B, which is scratchier and choppier. Up to you which you play, Mx. DJ.
