Catenaccio boss Benjamin Fehr has long been serving up his oddball minimal style to the likes of Lomidhigh and Broquade, but now he is doing his thing for Grow Vinyl, channeling his pared down approach into exciting sound sources that make for fiery results. The title track has a wealth of theremin-esque noodling going on over the top of a solid bassline and slender beat, while plenty more kooky samples zip around the mix at the same time to the delight of your ears. Isherwood delivers a dense and twitchy re-rub of the track that has its own spooky, if more streamlined, charm. "Your Electronic Arms" is a gutsy offering from Fehr that steals the show on the B2, letting live drum percussion and a powerful sense of movement guide the dark and deranged arrangement forwards.
