Allison & The South Funk Boulevard Band's original album (first released on the Texas-based Crazy Cajun label) is mega rare and much sought after. If you find a copy it will be hella costly, but Superfly reissues it here so we can all delight in its glorious 70s soul richness. It is a broad and widescreen album that moves from quiet, slow, heartbroken soul sounds to more groovy numbers with funky and buttery vocals. The production is lo-fi and loveably raw, with plenty of these able to make you cry as much as make you dance.
