440 Hz is an alias from French producer Maxime Simon, and he's getting his first solo 12" outing on Ellipsis following prior entries from Tom Jarmey and Aidan Francis. The vibe is trance-inflected deep house with plenty of analogue warmth, with 'Gazoline' making for an instant stand-out thanks to its intricate arrangement and sparkling production. There's some cheeky garage flex sneaking into 'Soul Mirror', in a style which should appeal to fans of Bicep and the like. This is melodically charged contemporary club music with a refined, polished veneer which should comfortably glide between tech house and UKG sets without disturbing the flow.
