Notes: 2xSAM is 4 HP Dual Stereo Attenuator-Mixer

Several 2xSAMs can be chained together or with other HN stereo modules via sockets on the back side.

2xSAM's total mix stereo output can be internally sent to the Isolator, PanMix Jr, 3xStereo Mixer, or can be received from OUT, PanMix, PanMix Jr, 3xStereo Mixer, or another 2xSAM.

If jumpers are not installed (placed on one pin only by default) the max gain is 1x. When the jumper is properly placed on both pins - the gain is 5x. There are four inputs thus four jumpers. Each jumper is relevant to its channel.

Notes: 3xVCA offers three high class amplifier circuits with linear characteristic. Thanks to AC / DC compatibility, a very low noise floor and basically no distortion, the module is not only a great partner for control voltages, but audio material as well. Besides a signal input and output, each VCA has its own CV input. The dual potentiometers regulate levels and bipolar CV attenuation values of all amplifiers. Using these rather unusual, yet very practical components, it was possible to equip the 3x VCA with a front panel that is only 6 HP wide. Switches allow the user to feed the results of one amplifier to the output of the next amplifier, so we can get 1+2, 2+3, and 1+2+3 outputs mix. Two-colored LEDs visualize CV and output signals.

Notes: ADSR (Attack-Decay-Sustain-Release) is a module designed to generate a voltage, which acts as the envelope with the adjustable stages. This envelope, generated in response to the incoming gate signal or manually pushed button, can then be used to shape the sound amplitude via VCA, modulate filter's cutoff frequency or any other parameters expecting CV control.
It features exponential Attack, Decay and Release stages, switch to select fast/slow operation mode, push button with led indicator to manually activate the envelope.

Notes: Dual xFade is a compact voltage controlled crossfader suitable for both audio and CVs. Smaller knobs set manual crossfade between A<>B, and bigger knobs are CV attenuverters. LEDs show the adjusted positive and negative CV sides for easy monitoring.

Upper inputs (section 1) are normalled to lower inputs (section 2). Thus the same signal pair A&B can be differently crossfaded in both sections.

The switch clones section's 1 controls to the section 2, which is useful to make stereo Dry/Wet adjustment or stereo VCA.

Four jumpers on the back can give optional 5x amplification for each A or B input. Sot it is easy to crossfade modular level with linear level from pedals. Installed jumpers give 1x amplification, removing jumpers gives 5x amplification.

Output 1 is mixed with output 2 if left unconnected.

Notes: HN VCF is a state variable filter having 12 db Low Pass, 12 dB High Pass, 6 dB Band Pass plus 18 db Low Pass marked as "LP!", because it has extra drive. All three parameters: "Freq", "Resonance" and "Drive" have dual knobs with outer knobs controlling bipolar CV amount. These affected CVs are then shown by the relative green/blue LEDs.

The possibility to have CV over "Resonance" and "Drives" makes it a very capable 6 HP filter.

"LP!" output has 6 dB steeper slope (18 dB) compared to ordinary 12 dB "LP" output. Plus it has much more drive.

Notes: Super Sawtor is the module designed to produce unison like waveforms from the incoming signal. The best results are achieved using sawtooth, triangle or sine waveforms as an input signal. Unison spread has been tuned to give almost the same type of harmonics smearing as the famous Roland JP80X0 Supersaw oscillator. Thus feeding the Super Sawtor with a sawtooth waveform will result in a typical Supersaw output.

Though having some common features with sawtooth animators, Super Sawtor gives that vivid tension of the Supersaw waveform, which is different to imitation of the multiple oscillators sound most sawtooth animators capable of doing. The main difference is in the approach used: sawtooth animators tend to recreate continuously moving phase shift of the slightly detuned / drifting oscillators; super Sawtor in its turn creates additional pitched shifted harmonics to the input signal, which gives a different sonic character compared to sawtooth animators.

It is also should be mentioned that Super Sawtor is a completely analogue circuit free of aliasing.

No external modulation sources are required for proper operation of the module. However the user can add changes and modulation to the manually set "Spread" amount by using "Cv" input and adjusting "Cv" knob to the desired degree.

Middle input in each section accepts CV for its frequency, so all three sections can be individually FMed by the external CVs.

If the inputs are fed with the modular level signals (+- 5V), then there is little room for "plus" EQ gains before saturation starts. In this case the input level should be attenuated first, if saturation is not desired and much "plus" gain is needed. Otherwise saturation drastically enriches the tone and the module works like very flexible overdrive FX.

When the switches are set to upper positions, then all three sections work independently. With the maximum gain reduction (CCW position) of the upper section (Hi Shelf) it becomes a useful kind of Low Pass filter. On the contrary - maximum gain reductions of the lower section (Low Shelf) makes it a High Pass filter.

Please note the internal routing done by the switches: the output of the uppers section is added to the input of the subsequent lower section. If nothing is connection to this lower sections' input, then only the upper section's output is processed. This makes it a 3 band EQ with the switches set to lower position. Having separated inputs opens up more possibilities over ordinary EQs.
