Review: 'Nights Over You' is a classic track from Folamour that put the artist on the map when it first came out back in 2017. He is now a mainstay of the scene with a big and colourful discography but this remains one of his best tunes. It is a super feel good and happy house sound with a deep vibe and vocal MJ vocal hooks that send crowds delirious. FHUO is behind the reissue and they have given it full treatment by repressing it up to splattered vinyl 12" and including a sticker as we as a Jamie Trench edit that hits hard and two other useful house pearls.

Review: This is one of several repress of French talent Folamour's older work and it comes on splattered vinyl and with a nice sticker. He delved into a rich tapestry of human emotions with the one, starting with 'Novalaise,' a nostalgic ode to his French roots that loops a magical acoustic piano melody. 'La Pierre et Le Sabre,' then tapes into classic French house with soul and gospel influences, 'Rue d'Amsterdam' infuses hip-hop elements with layered keyboards and vocal samples and 'L'ile des Gauchers,' inspired by literary musings, is a fine closer that unfolds like a captivating story propelled by a pulsating bassline.

Review: The wonderful 'Ya Just Need 2 Believe in Yaself' is one of the many delightful house gems crafted by modern mainstay Folamour. It samples The Supreme Jubilees's 'Do You Believe' which lends it a seriously soulful edge over the deep, disco-tinged drums and loose percussion. The same tune is served up in the fipside as an A Decade Together mix. It is more likely and upbeat with bigger drums for larger rooms but still keeps its warm, emotive essence. This one comes one blue marbled 12" to make it extra nice.

Review: Popular French house character Folamour has had his breakout 2017 hit reissued this month but is also appearing on the same label with this new EP. It is a great showcase of his sound right from the off with 'Lampadaire' exploring organic and percussive deep house groover laden with painterly synths. 'When U Came Into My Life' is another easy to love and soulful house sound while 'Just A Lonely Night Eating Sushis' sinks into late night and romantic vibes and gently broken beats. 'Sparkles' has jazzy chords and last of all 'You Never Told Me I'll Miss U That Much' is another bit of superb deep house romance.

Review: Folamour's brand new label is For Heaven Use Only... But don't worry - we won't tell him if you play them at any dancefloor in the real world. The Moonrise Hill hero takes the lead with a lush brushed drum tropical boogie cut that's all light in the synths and woozy in the horns while Lo Life sedates us to the very soul with the lush and loopy "Gucci Tennis 84". Wrapping up the second side we have a Carter-level boompty tub-thumper "Baciami Subito" from Kaffe Creme and an energised jazz techno jam from Marc Bianco that features the slipperiest fretless bass runs this side of Azymuth HQ.

Review: Folamour was responsible for one of the dreamiest, most colourful deep house records of recent times - the brilliant Shakkei EP on All City - so hopes are naturally high for this excursion on the producer's recently launched FHUO Records. He kicks off proceedings with the thrillingly addictive "Very First Touch", where dreamy pads and looped party samples cluster around a snappy, jazz-fuelled house groove, before ratcheting the energy levels up a notch or two via the rubbery slap bass, driving drum machine beats and warm Rhodes chords of "Alerte a Babylon". In between, you'll find Pravis' "L'Estaque", a stomping deep house floor-burner blessed with some seriously good, jammed-out electric piano solos.

Review: The first two releases on Folamour's FHUO label boasted headline-grabbing tracks from the hyped French producer. On release number three he's decided to showcase the work of other like-minded producers instead. Newcomer St Paul kicks things off with the sparkling, boogie-era disco-house cheeriness of "Tonight With You Baby", before Madcat serves up an ear-pleasing chunk of disco-funk/jazz-funk/deep house fusion (the pleasingly percussive "Quarter Century"). Over on side two, Mezigue brilliantly fixes attractive, spaced-out synth lines to a high-tempo rhythm track (think ghetto-house meets Detroit techno, and you're close) before Lo Life gets in full-on orchestral trip-hop mode on the brilliantly produced "Ill at Delphia (Raw Mix)".

Review: Having first pricked our consciousness via a deep, tropical house cut on Moonrise Hill Material's first Love Me Some Friends 12" earlier in the year, Tochigi Canopy delivers his debut album. As first releases go, Collecting Things is something of a doozy: a deliciously dusty, analogue-rich collection of straight-to-tape workouts smothered in stretched-out chords, sticky field recordings and curious, vari-speed effects. Musically, it sees him saunter between soft focus ambient cuts, twinkling downtempo grooves, near horizontal deep house shufflers, and the kind of saucer-eyed soundscapes that sound like they should be sound-tracking blissful summer sunrises. In other words, it's a beauty.
