Review: In 2016 Canadian producer and DJ Eddie C released his third Endless Flight album entitled On The Shore: a compelling musical trip of drifting repetition in rhythm and melody. It was inspired by his studio that sits upon the Panke River in Berlin's Wedding district. Now he drops a new EP, consisting of three tracks plus "Auf Der Ufer" - a tune he did with his Norwegian buddy Rune Lindbaek. This slo-mo beauty is smothered with rich vintage synth flair and dusty drums: a sonic odyssey made for drifting. Our favourite though, was the lush synth-pop beauty of "Pumapunku" or B side cut "Inner Piece" which was a right curveball. This bleepy rave techno jam will take you all the way back to the early '90s. Another heartfelt arranged mix of instruments, synths, samples and drum machines by Eddie C.

From then on its' a loved-up, saucer-eyed jaunt through laidback Balearic disco grooves ("In The Park"), spaced-out punk-funk ("Way Uptown"), percussion-packed Latin beats ("Batacuda"), bustling breakbeat house ("Berlina"), warped digital dub ("Dancin' Music") and spaced-out broken beat ("Listen"). In a word: superb.

Now based in Berlin and joining a huge community of expat producers in the city, the On The Shore LP was indeed influenced by his new hometown. His studio being located right on the River Panke in Berlin's growing Wedding district; an area still not fully in the grasp of gentrification yet and it was these lovely and relaxing surrounds, being surrounded by fellow artists in the studios which fuelled inspiration for this release. Expect a mixed bag of all things slo-mo, low slung, deep and above all funky, for sure!

Review: Japanese label Endless Flight embarks on the first of several Eddie C remix 12"s. First up is Marvin & Guy's remix to "La Palette" - the title track from Eddie C's most recent Endless Flight EP. What was originally a funky and Havana-styled house tune gets transformed into an electro-tinged cut of new school boogie with italo synths and lo-fi drums. Bearded Australian producer Tornado Wallace continues his re-emergence from production slumber with a remix of "Every Life Under The Invisible Hands", taken from Eddie C's Country City Country album. This time a funkier production is dipped into a deep pool of cosmic Balearica, with Wallace sending Eddie C's original elements through a galaxy of pumping bass, starlight synths and space western themed guitars.

Review: A self-professed vinyl junkie and one half of Force of Nature alongside DJ Kent, KZA has a strong affiliation with the Endless Flight offshoot of Mule Musiq. Four years ago saw the release of his debut album Dig & Edit on the label, and he's also been responsible for a raft of 12?s on Endless Flight - including the classic Le Troublant Acid - as well as mixing two volumes of their showcase compilation series I'm Starting To Feel Okay. Now Dig & Edit 2 has arrived, and it's a continuation of the approach the producer took with his debut set. Some ten tracks long, Dig & Edit Vol. 2 largely consists of new material that KZA sampled from his extensive record collection and subsequently arranged with the assistance of Mule Musiq boss Kuniyuki, though it does end on the aforementioned, previously released Paul Martin-sampling stunner "Le Troublant Acid". All in all, essential.
