Review: A split album with a difference, this release on esteemed psychedelic imprint Cardinal Fuzz sees a bunch of old hands at the fine art of synapse-shifting doing what they do best - the Big Naturals duo of Jesse Webb and Gareth Turner first deliver a bracingly out-there and darkly experimental 21-minute opus that blends droning intensity with percussive tumult. Yet joined on the other side of this slab of wax by Heads guitar genius Paul 'Prof' Allen as Anthroprophh, they lurch into early-'70s freakout of a particularly unhinged stripe, replete with treble-searing guitar overload and jazzy filligree. True heads and space cadets alike, step this way and fry thy mind.
