Review: 2 Hot 2 Wait is the latest album from self professed "Headphone House" producer Coyote Clean Up, and a welcome return to Amanda Brown's tireless 100% Silk label who released the prolific Detroit based artist's cassette album Frozen Solid last year. Across the various formats he's released music on, Coyote Clean Up has always exhibited a charming embracement of lo-fi house that's equally indebted to his local heroes such as Theo Parrish and Aaron Carl (RIP) as it is the skewed UKtronics of Actress, Lukid et al. The seven track 2 Hot 2 Wait continues this approach and it's augmented throughout by a notable celebration of exhibitionism and lust.

Review: Having garnered much praise for his recent Ital output, Daniel Martin-McCormick brings his production partnership Mi Ami over to 100% Silk for some more of that teasing, house-informed-but-not-dictated goodness. Mi Ami come on like a drawn out live jam of deepest house, as vocals and effects feed into an endless hypnotic loop of drum machines and live bass. The tracks require lengthy running times to cover all that noodling ground, so live is the feeling on these tracks. While it's an enjoyable prospect while coursing through your headphones, you can only imagine what the effect in a physical setting would be.

Review: With more albums than singles to his name, there can be little argument that Michael Morrison is a prolific individual, not least when you consider the first Octo Octa release was in 2011. This latest LP for 100% Silk is a wondrous brew of machine soul, spanning techno, deep house and new wave in that curious blend that the label is known for. There are romantic turns as on "Bad Blood", rowdy breakbeat moments such as "His Kiss", industrial pneumatics like "Work Me", and a wealth of ideas in between. It's a strong and energetic body of work that displays both diversity and confidence at every turn, and makes for a great album of electronic music in the process.

There are more contemplative moments such as opening track "Replicant Moods", trashy synth-pop shapes like "Miraculous Feet", scuzzy electro stompers as in "Everything", and plenty more styles besides. There truly is something to satisfy any curious taste here, mixing emboldened melodic composition with the lo-fi charms of budget equipment and never getting stuck in a stylistic rut. It really comes off sounding like one of the most imaginative takes on box jamming to emerge for quite some time.

Review: Having debuted on Not Not Fun last year with his third LP Music For The Tactile Dome, West Coast synth boffin Jonas Reinhardt now turns out on Amanda Brown's other label concern 100% Silk. Given the floor centric angle of 100% Silk it's little surprise to see Reinhardt introduce a tad more vim and vigour into the four tracks on the Foam Fangs EP than the more spacious and laid back cosmic fare he is known for. This much is evident from the rich spiralling sensations that run through the opening title track as a driving 4/4 beat - which is 50% motorik and 50% jacking -is the foundation upon which Reinhardt throws down a relentless flurry of fuzzed out kaleidoscopic synth flourishes. This template is then approached on various angles on the subsequent tracks with the dubby "Soak" complemented by the slippery Giallo techno of "Auto Grift" and the widescreen forest jack of "Hot Black Mastic" which Legowelt fans will love.

Review: The first of two 100% Silk platters to arrive this week sees the label reach down under to hand a debut to Melbourne based producer Roland Tings with Milky Way, a four track 12" that maintains the Los Angeles operation's relentless assault on retro-futurist underground sounds. As you might expect from his name, Roland Tings relies heavily on squeezing out vintage synth heavy house, and the playful oscillating textures and bouncy rhythms on the opening title track make comparisons with Mr Fingers easy to form. Even better is "Loose Jaw" whose arid but loose beginnings fold in on themselves as a delightful piano hook appears and the track explodes with colourful texture. Flipside opener "Polo Sport" sounds like aliens landed in Chicago sometime in the late 80s, liked what they heard, bought a shed load of analogue gear and made their own Martian brand, while "Roland's Beat" is all about that slippery percussion and subaqueous synth flourishes.
