Review: ***Reissued for the first time—DEAD MOON’s first record! Originally released in 1988. Dead Moon were a band that existed outside of the
constraints that time and style usually impose on artists. An authentic mix of psychedelic rock, punk, blues, country, and every other American
music worth a damn. This LP features all time classics such as "Graveyard" ( A 13th Floor Elevators type vibrating psychedelic song), "Don''t Burn
The Fires" and "I Hate The Blues.” Lo-fi as hell. Remastered from the original tapes. We are very proud to make this LP available on vinyl once
more.

Review: Exciting horizons from the UK's Deadletter, who debut their first album Hysterical Strength via SO Recordings. The band formed in the wake of the suicide of a friend and soon took after the likes of Joy Division, Talking Heads and Wire to produce a contemporary take on their distinctly British post-punk sound. With lyrical themes touching on noir fiction, hope in ostensible hopelessness, and finding beauty in the quagmire of pain that defines much of the collective now, Deadletter is a purloined epistle to the UK, one that will ultimately be returned to the sextet sender, but not before a thorough touring spate and album release fallout.

Review: Kim Deal's debut album Nobody Loves You More is a long-awaited, sonically adventurous showcase of her iconic artistry. Though technically not her first solo releaseishe dropped a ten-song 7" vinyl series in 2013ithis album fully embraces her singular voice after decades with the Pixies and The Breeders. Tracked over years with collaborators old and new, including Breeders alumni and friends like Jack Lawrence and Fay Milton, it culminates in sessions helmed by Steve Albini. The first single, 'Coast', is playful and nostalgic, blending a Blondie-esque groove with memories of a Massachusetts vacation, setting the tone for the album's sharp turns. The title track, however, opens with lush strings and bossa-nova rhythms, revealing a more vulnerable side of Deal, while 'Crystal Breath' reintroduces the raw grit of her early work, yet with fresh, experimental touches like sub-aquatic synths and break-y drums. Tracks like 'Are You Mine?' and 'Summertime' evoke 1950s chamber pop, offering tender, heart-melting moments, while 'Disobedience' and 'Big Ben Beat' nod to Deal's indie rock roots. A standout interlude, 'Bats in the Afternoon Sky', is a serene dreamlike breather, affirming her timelessness. With this album, Deal reflects on her career and inner world with humor and grace, blending her past with a fresh, evolving sound. It's the ultimate solo statement from an artist who's always been ahead of her time.

Review: Kim Deal's debut album Nobody Loves You More is a masterful culmination of years of musical exploration and collaboration, though it's not her first venture under her own name. In 2013, she self-released a five-part, ten-song 7" vinyl series, with several of those tracks reappearing here, notably 'Are You Mine?' and 'Wish I Was,' both of which date back to 2011. These early compositions were crafted shortly after Deal wrapped up the Pixies' 'Lost Cities Tour' and made the move to Los Angeles. Over the ensuing years, the album gradually took shape, with contributions from a roster of long-time collaborators and new faces alike, including Breeders members past and present, Jack Lawrence, and Savages' Fay Milton and Ayse Hassan. The final touches were recorded with Steve Albini in 2022, solidifying the album's place as a celebration of Deal's profound impact on the alternative music scene. Musically, the album traverses a broad spectrum, from the infectious energy of 'Coast' and 'Crystal Breath' to the introspective depth of 'Disobedience' and 'A Good Time Pushed.' The result is an album that highlights Deal's undeniable talent as a pivotal figure in the indie rock world.

Review: It's somewhat surprising to hear that this is Kim Deal's debut solo album, what with fellow college rock and grunge legends of the late 80s and 90s - such as her former Pixies bandmate Black Francis, Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. members - putting out solo albums like there's no tomorrow; Deal, who is a member of The Breeders, has held her band mentality for the most part. The arrival of this album with her as the star on the cover, however, is even more intriguing because of the wait. And the resulting material is as assured in its slacker cool feel and as anything she has put her name to in her career so far and full of weird and scuzzy sounds that make it a feast for the ears. Deal's great taste in production is part of her winning formula, with the likes of Josh Klinghoffer (former Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Raymond McGinley of Teenage Fanclub, Slint's Britt Walford and the late Steve Albini all credited on this astounding record.

Available on crystal clear vinyl with a striking white and black splatter, the album looks as good as it sounds. Here you find the power of the band in their early stage that would help them becoming superstars in the world of rock music. Paradise Now offers both longtime fans and new listeners a captivating glimpse into Death Cult's enduring legacy in the realm of alternative music.

Review: It could have all been so different when Death In Vegas first formed. Richard Fearless and Steve Hellier spawned the project in 1994 and got signed under the name Dead Elvis, but legal wrangling got in the way and they used the name for their debut album instead. Now Music On Vinyl have repressed the 1997 classic so we can revel in the grizzled take on big beat and trip hop the pair cooked up. It's very much of its time, but there's a snarl to the production which sets Death In Vegas apart from their peers at the time, opting for the dive bar ambience over the festival main stage you'd hear when playing The Chemical Brothers or Leftfield. For that reason Dead Elvis has aged very well indeed.

Review: It's not without good reason four tracks from this unforgettable third album made it onto TV ads and movie soundtracks. Everything about the record is huge and absolutely impossible to ignore. There's the drawled Mancuian indie Britishness of its title track, with Oasis man Liam Gallagher giving it his typical all on lyrical duties. The lo-fi, almost nursery rhyme psychedelics of '23 Lies'. And the strange, alien-like bleeps and warbles of 'Natja'.

This is before we mention the parts with Dot Allison, Hope Sandoval, Nicola Kuperus and Paul Weller. As per usual, Richard Fearless' electronica project - which claims at least another 11 names in its part time members list - is as fearless as it is majestic. Taking us to the soaring heights of string-filled 'Help Youself', before hitting us with the wall of sound alternative rock and rave synths of 'Leather'.

Review: London based slowcore revivalists Deathcrash made good on the promise of their first slew of exceptional EPs with last year's expansive and melancholic full-length debut Return. Little over a year later and the collective return (no pun intended) with Less; a sophomore effort that utilises both restraint and cathartic abandon to audibly craft a work teeming with disappointment, regret and anguish. Embracing their Slint and Duster influences even more, the material here is often more refined and direct than the lengthy dirges of their first album, allowing for the grandiosity of both seven minute plus opener 'Pirouette' and the momentous closer 'Dead, Crashed', to breathe with hypnotic despondency. Consistent while subtly elevating every nuance of their emotive dissonance, Deathcrash drag the "less is more" mantra down to sobering levels of ambivalent sadness.

Review: This album was co-produced by Chris Walla (Death Cab for Cutie) and Tucker Martine (Laura Veirs). "The Crane Wife" is an extrapolation of the folk tale, a re-imagining of its themes on a broader canvas. For every song that touches directly on the interpretation of the Japanese legend, several more take their cue from the fabric of the story and stretch outward into other visions.

Review: The Decemberists explore the intricate psyche of a society at war, drawing on historical archetypes to illuminate contemporary issues more effectively than traditional news. They celebrate life as a vibrant spectacle, where encounters range from rogue spies and runaway prostitutes to child monarchs and vengeful mariners, boy ghosts, and cannibals. Established in August 2004 at a former Baptist church in Portland, Oregon, Rachel Blumberg, Jenny Conlee, Chris Funk, Colin Meloy, and Nate Query, with co-producer Chris Walla, crafted their ambitious opus Picaresque (Kill Rock Stars - March 22, 2005), marking a pinnacle in their collective musical journey.

Review: Sky Girl is the work of two noted (but arguably under-appreciated) crate diggers, DJ Sundae and Julien Dechery, and gathers together a veritable treasure trove of obscure material loosely connected by (in the label's own words) "the same longing sentiment". Its' fifteen tracks touch on a variety of hazy, down-tempo styles, and were recorded at various points between 1961 and '91. There's much to admire throughout, from the folksy psychedelic pop of The Rising Storm's "Frozen Laughter", and spoken word eccentricity of Scott Seskind's "I Remember", to the dreamy, eyes-closed ambience of Nini Raviolette & Hugo Weris' "Slow" and string-laden samba-folk of Nora Guthrie's "Home Before Dark".

Review: Brandon Cox's future-guitar crusaders made a landmark release with this 2008 album Microcastle which re-invented indie-guitar pop through a prism of psychedelic invention and Radiohead-esque avant-magic, creating a powerful elixir that chimed with the here and now just as it was satisfying long-term lovers of sultry shoegaze and effects-pedal euphoria. Moreover, the savant axe man was prolific enough to quickly come up with the Weird Era Cont follow-up after Microcastle prematurely leaked, creating a seductive cocktail of effects-pedal squall, songwriting classicism and ambient fever-dreams that haunts the consciousness. Taken as one, this is a potent document by an almost unnaturally talented modern iconoclast.

Review: Rumour has it that only 15 cassette tapes were initially distributed of this rare demo collection, which earlier in 2024 was revealed to be the most expensive cassette tape ever sold on Discogs (going for a hefty $5,000), though the common consensus is that surely more exist out in the ether. Available digitally for years but now arriving on a remarkably limited run of wax, these demos also appeared on the (Like) Linus compilation CD and feature John Taylor on drums as Abe Cunningham would be in the midst of touring with his original alternative metal outfit Phallucy at the time of recording. Featuring the entire demo which pre-dates their 1995 debut Adrenaline LP, including cuts such as the aforementioned '(Like) Linus' as well as 'Hump', and 'Plastic', this expanded version also boasts early takes of album tracks like 'Engine No. 9', and 'Nosebleed', painting one of the clearest pictures of the band's nu-metal teething phase while creatively and sonically striving to push those confines in a similar manner to early material from their peers in Incubus. Funky, jagged and raw, yet already exuding that signature sultry chaotic nuance, this collection is so OG that initial copies even labelled the band as The Deftones.

Review: Some 19 years later (and not a moment too soon) this great compilation from Nu Metal legends Deftones is seeing its much-needed repress - with an added remastering to sweeten the deal. A tough record to find at a stomachable price for a while, 'B Sides & Rarities' is full of acoustic versions, demos and covers of the likes of The Smiths, Cocteau Twins, The Cure and - most amusingly - Sade. 'Wax and Wane' is a severely underrated cover, a wicked interpretation filled with punchy guitars and, of course, Chino Moreno's mastery of blending metal and new wave vocals. The most popular of the tracks on offer here is, without doubt, 'Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want', their cover of The Smiths' 1984 B-side to 'William It Was Really Nothing' . It's a rollercoaster of a cover, with a wild guitar solo and filled with the same rumbling, underlying sadness that made the original such a staple. Who doesn't love a melancholic metal song?

Review: The fourth studio album from '90s pop-punk-ish alt rock band Del Amitri, Twisted followed 1992's Change Everything, and amounted to a classic among the greats in their discography (though it was the last to feature the guitarist David Cummings). The album's bright, car-mixed songs - 'Roll To Me', 'Never Enough', 'Start With Me' - heard the band retain their omnipresent melodics, though it also marked a shift towards an even sunnier and heartfelt direction than the preceding album, not to mention serving as a sonic companion to the nascent Britpop craze, albeit not directly influenced by it.

Rough Trade are winding back the clock to 2004, when they first burst onto the scene with their debut album Faded Seaside Glamour. It's an album which embodies the indie boom of that era, loaded with bombast and heartfelt songwriting which nodded to the past without being beholden to it. You might hear the epic strokes of Joshua Tree-era U2 in the likes of 'On', or the jangly pop of The Cure at their breeziest. This deluxe edition comes pressed on orange vinyl.

One of their more recent signings, Delights, are from Manchester and write guitar music inspired by bedroom pop and 70s psychedelia. This album, their debut, is lush with chorus-laden guitar and a languid vocal style that's bringing a much-needed dose of chill to the UK indie landscape. In addition to orchestrating some stunning guitar-led soundscapes, the band's strength lies in singer Adam Maxwell having some serious musical chops and melodies to spare. Ones to watch for sure.

Review: Mac Demarco has a certain cachet as a happy-go-lucky slacker, with campfire atmosphere to spare and chorus pedals set to stun, somewhat in the manner of a millennial Cat Stevens. The songs on 'This Old Dog' go way beyond - focusing on his relationships with family and friends, they're in equal parts mature, affecting and memorable in their melodic sleight-of-hand. Certainly the lazy charm and laid-back goofiness are present and correct here, but 'This Old Dog' displays a genuine reflective depth and emotional resonance.

'Five Easy Hot Dogs' also charts DeMarco's attitude to the genre of 'musical road trip', likening the interstate journey from Gualala to Rockaway to an easy process of consuming something soft and meaty, like a hot dog. DeMarco's general detuned, lackadaisical character shines through best on the opener and the emotive stepper 'Vancouver 3'.

Tracks like 'Passing Out Pieces' and 'Chamber of Reflection' highlight his expanding sound palette, blending icy synths and soulful crooning. The lead single, set against overdriven organ chords, captures his candid self-awareness and lyrical depth. The album retains the crisp, lush production reminiscent of the John Lennon/Phil Spector era, with Mac's unique contemporary twist. Songs like 'Brother' and 'Treat Her Better' exemplify his signature styleislinky lead guitars, swooning vocal melodies and heartfelt sincerity. This anniversary edition not only celebrates a pivotal moment in Mac DeMarco's career but also offers fans a beautifully packaged and thoughtfully curated experience.

It's gone on to become a fan favourite, and for good reason as Demarco's distinctive stripped down sound gets to stretch out in laconic, leisurely style. If there was always a yacht rock streak to his music, it's out in full force here as tracks like 'Don Juan' prove in true smooth-as-silk style. Barbecue or not, you'll feel the sun on your back with this one.

Review: Recent reviews of Spirit, Depeche Mode's first studio set for four years, have remarked at how angry and frustrated the band seems to be throughout. Messers Gore, Gahan and Fletcher are not particularly happy with the way the world is right now, and have laid down an album of rare intensity, seemingly fuelled by a growing desperation at political events on both sides of the Atlantic. Producer James Ford undoubtedly played a role in defining the sound of Sprit, but the combination of raucous, punk style guitars, thrusting electronics and big choruses is what we've come to expect from Depeche Mode.

Review: Depeche Mode's latest album Memento Mori is one that has been madly anticipated by fans. The record - which comes on wax and in a lovely embossed sleeve here - centres on the mood of grief after the passing of the band's founding member Andrew "Fletch" Fletcher, this is the first LP by a Depeche Mode made up of only two remaining members: Dave Gahan and Martin Gore. The band's progression in their latest years have heard them move into darker, peakier, sadder and more industrial themes, as they make do with a future-present that wasn't promised to them in the 80s, while drawing on deathly topoi and nodding to Ingmar Bergman.

Review: Depeche Mode's performance at Hammersmith Odeon in London, 1983, captured the band at a pivotal moment in their career. This iconic live recording showcases their burgeoning synth-pop sound which blends pulsating rhythms with dark, introspective lyrics. Songs like the ever-green classic 'Just Can't Get Enough' resonate with irresistible signature sounds while Dave Gahan's charismatic vocals and Martin Gore's evocative melodies still sound like nothing else. The concert tracks Depeche Mode's evolution into global pioneers of electronic music and is an emotionally charged performance that is well worth reliving.

Review: 32 years on from the release of their debut album Speak and Spell, Basildon's finest drop their 14th full length. While there are echoes of their eyeliner-wearing, synth-bothering futurist past (see the glitchy "My Little Universe" and early New Order-ish "Broken", where Dave Gahan sings about 'dreaming of the future'), for the most part Delta Machine finds them in grinchy synth-rock mode, presumably shaking their fists at passing youngsters like a gang of grumpy old men. Thankfully, they're still capable of great things - "Soothe My Soul" has echoes of "Personal Jesus" - and there's enough to suggest there's some life in the old dogs yet.

Recorded in San Francisco, this live set detailed their evolution as they blended dark synth-pop with raw, rock-infused energy. Classics like 'Rush' and 'World In My Eyes' shine alongside then-newer, grittier tracks that showcased Dave Gahan's electrifying vocals and Martin Gore's emotive songwriting. Review: Featuring as it does six discs of live recordings, Music Portrait is veritable feast for Depeche Mode fans. All of the material was originally recorded for radio broadcasts. Discs one and two feature what appears to be an almost complete 1998 concert featuring such perennial favourites as 'Policy of Truth', 'Personal Jesus', 'It's No Good' and 'Just Can't Get Enough' (a triumphant, sing-along conclusion all told), while CD three offers up 11 songs from a set recorded in 2005. The other three discs feature recordings of solo outings from Dave Gahan, with big Depeche Mode hits being joined by personal favourites and deep cuts from the Basildon Band's 40-plus year career.

Review: Modern day Amsterdam is a bit of an oxymoron. On the one hand, the city proudly brandishes its reputation for alternative and sub cultures, pushing back against lawmakers and their incoherent policies to adopt approaches that are more realistic and levelheaded. On the other, its a place of such rampant commercial development the local government actively discourages visitors and new hotel developments. Look closely, though, and you can still feel the spirit of what, during the latter half of the 20th Century, made this place so special. Paradiso is one of those spots. A waterside cultural venue with a history first as a church, then an illegal squat, before becoming what it is today, the walls themselves seem to pervade a sense of brave, adventurous heritage. An ideal place to catch one of the most defining bands of the 1980s in their heyday, then, here Depeche Mode deliver an astounding set in a space with the atmosphere to match.

Review: You can always count on Depeche Mode to do things differently. Never content to play it safe despite their position as a global superstars, as the 80s turned into the 90s they collaborated with celebrated filmmaker Anton Corbijn on the music videos from their albums Music For The Masses and Violator. The first set were gathered together at Strange in 1988, with the follow-up released as Strange Too in 1990. In between the music videos for megahits like ‘Personal Jesus’ and ‘Enjoy The Silence’ were additional vignettes and incidentals, all filmed by Corbijn on his trusty Super 8, and the end results have become synonymous with the Mode’s visual aesthetic. Now both films have been gathered together in one handy Blu Ray package, digitally remastered without losing that all-important grainy finish.

Review: When Depeche Mode teamed up with Anton Corbijn to make some music videos, few could have predicted the end results. If you ever thought there’s an artful consistency to the Mode’s music videos from the late 80s and early 90s, it’s because Corbijn filmed them all on a shoestring budget on his trusty Super 8 camera. The resulting pieces were strung together as vignettes forming a larger cinematic experience which was released in two instalments - Strange and Strange Too. Originally released on VHS and Laserdisc, the films have finally been bundled together, digitally restored and presented in this DVD box set with bonus material.

Review: On this indie-exclusive pressing, English jazz sax man Alabaster DePlume's latest sees him in raw and expressive mood. 'Oh My Actual Days' pairs slow, swelling sax lines with Macie Stewart's strings, a march toward reckoning. 'Thank You My Pain' turns its mantra into rhythm, embracing discomfort rather than escaping it. 'Form a V' pulls from jiu-jitsu, confronting the world head-on. Instrumentals like 'Prayer for My Sovereign Dignity' and 'Kuzushi' embody movementitension, release, transformation. Packaged with an obi-strip and insert, this edition is a fitting addition to DePlume's workiphysical proof of a philosophy: dignity is not given, it's claimed.

Rooted in poetry and philosophical inquiry, the album brims with his soulful saxophone melodies and their uniquely evocative lyricism. Tracks like 'Oh My Actual Days' and 'Invincibility' convey resilience while 'Thank You My Pain' draws on mindfulness teachings. DePlume's compositions are inspired by personal growth and global injustices which reflect both individual and collective struggles. In 2020 he released the first Deserta album, Black Aura My Sun, and now he's back with the follow-up. Leading with the tracks 'Lost In The Weight' and 'I'm So Tired', Doty wields a mammoth sound with towering guitars and vocals that swirl in an ocean of reverb. It's genuinely huge, marking a new progression for the artist and his project which should be a must for fans of My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and plenty more besides.

Review: Vancouver band Destroyer's latest isn't just a "boogie" in the common senseiit's a slippery, shape-shifting act of survival, deception and late-night epiphanies. Dan Bejar calls it "a hustle, a scam that doesn't quite work," and that tension runs through every note. 'Bologna' casts Bejar as a supporting player, with Simone Schmidt's piercing vocal turning the track into a noirish fever dream. 'Hydroplaning Off the Edge of the World' swings between peppy charm and spiraling dread, while 'Cataract Time' stretches into an eight-minute epic, its melancholic weight somehow tasting like hope. Where past Destroyer albums battled the world, this one dances with itishifty, urgent, and impossible to pin down.

Review: Has it really been 10 years since the last album from Belgian art-rockers Deus? Well, it would seem so, but now they're back with their eighth long player and sounding stronger than ever. The band's sound has always been committed to finding that sweet spot between off-kilter experimentation and strong melodic sensibilities, and they continue to make that approach their own with 12 superlative new tracks, no less than 28 years since they first emerged. It's no small amount of time for a band to keep going, but Deus sound as vital as they did in the beginning on the album, pressed up here on clear vinyl.

Review: Americana trio The Devil Makes Three bring us their first album since the 2018 release, Chains are Broken. And good things come to those who wait as the saying goes. The California natives have traded the more electrified sound of the previous album and returned to their stripped-down roots, whilst still pushing sonic boundaries with a lush atmospheric feel throughout. A big stand out is 'Hard Times', which is a banjo-flecked banger that feels like a nod to Woody Guthrie thanks to its empathy with people who are struggling and it takes aim at neoliberalism: "It's hard, hard, hard times / They'll charge you dollars / While they're paying you in dimes/ When they said it was going to trickle down / You know that they were lying." What a likeable bunch.

Review: Bands often work so hard to get the right producer and sound as slick as possible. But sometimes those initial ideas with fewer cooks in the kitchen sound a lot more exciting. This collection of Devo studio demos and unreleased tracks culled from cassettes, reel-to-reel tapes, multi-tracks and DATs - spanning their independent label era - is no exception. It's raw, rough and ready in a way that takes you back to the 70s and makes you want to dig out some double denim. Re-recorded in a state-of-the-art studio you'd probably feel very much in the present. It's a mammoth collection with over two-and-a-half hours of material and was originally released in 2000, but this four LP deluxe version is the most eye-catching way to spend time digging through the New Wave icons' stuff and understand why they were admired by the likes of David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Neil Young at this early stage of their career.

Review: Five decades on and Devo are rightly recognised as a cultural treasure from the early days of US new wave, but even by the time they released their Brian Eno-produced debut album in 1978 they were five years in and way ahead of the curve. As the band reflect on half a century at the cutting edge, Rhino have pulled together an expansive retrospective which comes in many different iterations. This particular edition, pressed on red and blue double vinyl, gathers together 25 classic and lesser known cuts from the band's considerable archives, housed with stunning artwork in a gatefold sleeve and is sure to become a collectors' item.

Review: These have been troubled times for the Brooklyn four-piece Diiv, who've not only lost their drummer to drug addiction but have seen vocalist Zachary Cole Smith battling both rehab and police attention in the run-up to this album. Lucky for everyone, however, they've channelled the tribulations into a bittersweet and rich selection of shoegaze-tinged indie-rock ditties that display both an understated sleight-of-hand and a cinematic sweep. Redolent of giants like The Cure and Smashing Pumpkins yet possessed of their own radiant charm, Diiv remain as irresistible as their name is unpronounceable.

Review: DIIV's fourth album, Frog in Boiling Water, is a haunting yet mesmerizing testament to the band's resilience and creativity. Produced by Chris Coady, the album emerges after a tumultuous four-year journey that nearly tore the band apart. Drawing inspiration from Daniel Quinn's The Story of B, the album explores themes of societal collapse under end-stage capitalism, symbolized by the metaphor of the boiling frog. The lead single, Brown Paper Bag, sets the tone with its intersection of dream-pop and post-rock, capturing the band's blend of dejection and angst. Throughout the album's ten tracks, DIIV navigate a musical landscape that balances rhythms built from breakbeats with ethereal guitars and vocals. Despite facing internal conflicts and external pressures, DIIV's commitment to creating meaningful art shines through on Frog in Boiling Water. Each song reflects the band's collective struggle and resilience, offering a poignant commentary on the precarious state of the world. While the album's creation was fraught with challenges, including personal struggles and creative differences, DIIV emerges stronger than ever. Frog in Boiling Water is a testament to the band's ability to confront adversity head-on and channel their experiences into music that is both introspective and evocative. With its haunting melodies and introspective lyrics, Frog in Boiling Water is a special addition to DIIV's discography, showing the band's evolution and maturation as artists.

Review: DIIV is an indie band from Brooklyn who first started recording in 2010 together. The band is a mix of post rock, lo-li, Indie with some shoegaze elements. The band has garnered some strong success for an indie band with their last album reaching the Billboard top 200 album list. Frog In Boiling Water is their fourth album and reminds many of 90s UK bands like My Bloody Valentine and Ride. Their first single 'Brown Paper Bag' was released on the same day the new album was announced just a few months ago. The lead single has all the marks for a classic shoegaze sound that should bode well for the band with their growing following of fans. This version is released on lime green vinyl

Review: There's a lot to read into DIIV's fourth studio album. Arriving in May 2024, it comes after a particularly controversial and turbulent decade for the New York space-y-art-y-indie rockers. Turning the clock back 11 years, lead singer Zachary Cole Smith's arrest for heroin possession preceded his first trip to rehab, and racist comments made on 4chan by former bassist Devin Ruben Perez. By 2016, the group were essentially done. Between the and now they managed to reunite, via another spell in rehab and some internet resentments beginning to bubble over. 2019's Deceiver proved that you don't necessary need to trust one another to put out a great album, and now Frog... reiterates that point. Soaring like Mogwai but with more catch, here DIIV seem to be looking outwards to more expansive skies and themes than they have in the past, lyrically dealing with external contributing factors to the internal chaos of addition and mental health.
