Review: In 2020, Ryuhei The Man seemed to be on a one-man quest to re-edit every rare old soul, jazz-funk and disco gem around. His quest clearly didn't end on December 31st though because he's at it again, this time working his scalpel magic on Alice Clark's 1972 gem 'Don't You Care'- a record that has long been hugely popular on the rare groove circuit. His edit is typically reverential, using little more than extensions of key instrumental passages - most notably a previously brief drum break - to heighten the funk-fuelled soul track's dancefloor impact. Turn to the flip and there's a chance to savour 'Hey Girl', a more jazz-funk and big band jazz flavoured affair that first featured on the very same hard-to-find album as 'Don't You Care'.
