Review: 'Flying' features two monster anthems from back in the day from one of the hottest Rave labels, Basement Records. When these two tracks were first released back in 1991/2, the tunes were pretty much played out by everyone. 'Flying' by Basement Phil & the Engineer feat Wendy, is a heart warming vocal rave cut, singing about what it was like to be raving in the early 90s. The track also has the pianos and riffs you'd expect, making this a classic. Smooth but Hazardous was DJ Alex Hazard and the infamous Jack Smooth, the tune itself is an absolute stormer. So another chance to get these classics on a limited Vinyl run.
Review: Hamburg herberts Sozialistischer Plattenbau get busy with the 21st edition of their breakneck funk Dubcore series. This time label regulars We Rob Rave and Polish duo Riffz & Dubskint take a tune each per side. R&D's 'Like This' is straight from the book of 92, all big pianos and feel good flavours while WRR's 'Weedless Bacon' takes things into much darker territories. Flip for more hardcore solutions as 'Team Bird Up' goes full on 4x4 before Riffz & Dubskint sign out on some manic Dreamscape tip. Hardcore, we suspect you know the score.
