Review: Adam Winchester and Laurie Osborne (probably still best known as Appleblim) are Wrecked Lightship and they have an inventive approach to dub, breaks and bass. Their work creates an immersive world full of rich, atmospheric textures and the latest example of that is Drained Strands, a new album for Peak Oil full of fragmented, genre-blurring sounds. The six-tracker is full of experimentation and new ideas from the off. 'Delinquent Spirits' for example is a jumble of jungle breaks and vast basslines with minimal percussion, 'Reeling Mist' is warm, blissed out dub and 'Somnium Sands' is an eerie and evocative world of synth designs and industrial decay.

The Glasgow-born producer disassembles her debut and reanimates it as a 94-minute, two-part odyssey, veering from hydraulic club destroyers to delicate ambient unspoolings. Originally released in 2019, it’s not just a remix collection but a wholesale reinvention: self-authored, nonlinear, and often sublime. ‘Ponyboy (Megadog)’ thrashes through chrome-plated rhythms with chaotic grace, while ‘Infatuation (Midnight Zone)’ pulls back into pure atmosphere, full of liquid clarity and hushed suspense. There’s a tactile, metallic intensity to everything here — especially on ‘Faceshopping (Euphoric Reduce Me To Nothingness Remix)’, which warps the original’s plasticity into something wilder and more abstract. The album’s sequencing mimics the logic of a club set or memory — sonic ideas introduced, warped, returned to — but what lingers most is the emotional palette: euphoric, alien, intimate. Review: Cosmin TRG is a Romanian producer who crafted some of the underground's most innovative sounds a decade or so ago, before going off to work in other creative worlds. Here, for the first time, he links with countryman DYL for a special EP that is decidedly futuristic. 'Manevre' is Romanian for 'manoeuvres' and comes in three different parts. Each one is fluid minimal sound with deft rhythms, fizzing pads, eerie melodies, sub-aquatic motifs and always absorbing atmospheres. Tammo Hesselink also adds a remix that has more prominent drums, lurching loops and menacing dystopian energy.

Review: London’s ADMNTi steps out with a four-tracker that distils years of dancefloor immersion into sharp, percussive club tools with distinct UK flair. ‘Second Hand Sushi’ drives the point home with its snapping drums, snarling basslines and wiry synth stabs—big-room energy and definitely no bloat. ‘Lost Fruits’ stays steppy, leaning into sub pressure and pirate radio textures, soundbites crackling like a tape pack rewind. On the flip, ‘Diptych’ shifts tone without dropping pace—chopped strings and warped vocals glide over crunchy drum work, locking into a more introspective groove. Closer ‘Shrublands’ dips further into dubwise atmospherics, pairing wobbly low-end with hazy flute lines and ghosted sax, while snippets of graffiti lore from both London and New York float through the mist. Early support from Ben UFO, Enzo Siragusa and Tristan da Cunha points to the range and functionality of these cuts—whether heads-down or heads-up, they pull threads from the capital’s soundsystem heritage into something that works across times and tempos. Review: Sub Basics's Temple Of Sound is back with new music from Henry Greenleaf who appears under his new moniker, Greenteeth. It is a project he is clearly using to cook up smart back room minimal sounds going off this evidence: 'Loxton' is a slow motion and prowling groove but one with deep, menacing bass and nice louche percussion. 'Jungle Love' is another subversive sound with a snaking rhythm and dubby low ends, dusty hi hats and late night mischief. Last of, 'On & On & On' plays out over all of the flipside with shuffling drums that are light and airy and topped with wispy drones. It's delightfully hypnotic.
