Review: Veteran duo Ed Solo and Deekline slip out the latest studio production which craftily lifts the vocals from Donna Dee's Always placing them amidst a sea of powerful rave swerves as the track commences. The drama soon increases via a rhythmic heartbeat before the inevitable drop into wobble bass which is pleasantly offset by some fluttering synth oscillations. The arrival of some expansive key stabs as the track eeks towards the final moments provides some melodic depth. Badmen Eddie K and Minus take care of remix duties which takes a swerve towards vintage rolling drum and bass territory.

Review: Germany's funk masters Mash & Munkee give us two tracks of b boy- flavoured, future funk class on this dinked 45 via Hero Records. "Superbad" does exactly what it says on the tin, infused with funk breaks, horns, flute, sleazy guitar, fat bass and groovy organs. On the flip, Renegades Of Jazz remix of "The Good Vibe" - the guys add jazzy guitar, walking piano lines and muted brass for a winning tweak.
Review: Signed by Wass Records head Smoove to inject a healthy jazz and swing flavour to the label, this debut album from Renegades of Jazz's David Hanke stays loyal to the original beats when he samples them - as on opener "Hooked On Swing" or the brass-packed "Get A Wiggle On". Pitched somewhere between electro-swing and more hip-hop orientated cut and paste samplers, this is an album full of thrills and spills, with plenty of jazz and beats to keep fans of multiple genres.
Review: Madrid breaks don Telephunken drops a heady slice of summer madness for the Big M imprint, with the self explanatory Latin Demon arriving backed with some excellent remixes. As Telephunken's signature call out commences the track, "Latin Demon" rolls out into a heady mix of slick Latino guitar riffs, subtle diwali handclaps and infectious rolling breaks over a bed of moog noodling and low set bass. The Basement Freaks call shotgun on the revisions, implementing a more bass heavy head nod thrusts amidst a surfeit of samples. The flip sees Funkanomics cut up and dub the f*ck out of the source amidst a stripped back intro that leads nicely into a scratch heavy breakstep mutation. Legendary US producer Ursula 1000 offers the most funked out revision with an uptempo effort that is notable for the soaring organ vibes.
Review: Prosper and Rory Hoy are welcomed back into the Big M fold following their debut last year, and respond by cranking up the party with Get Dat Boogie, this heady six track selection. Naturally there is a Latin element at the core of opening track "Todo Es Nuevo", but it doesn't stop the duo from deviating from the path on a track that bristles with ideas as much as head nodding beats. From here, the duo run through uptempo groove laden breakbeat tinged with the dizzying vocal harmonies of "Zoun" and low riding psyche nu funk embellished with laid back vox from McRunigga & Estery on "If You Leave The Party". The flip holds further sampledelic house party delights with the emphasis as ever on the catchy vocal hooks and heavily funked basslines with "Get Dat Boogie Chase" a particular rolling p funk delight.
