Review: The latest female singing sensation Claire Maguire is the possessor of a truly deep voice, and here we see her ITV Drama sound tracking original remixed by a disparate range of musical heavyweights. Coyote add a sense of cinematic prestige to proceedings whilst the requisite dubstep remix box is ticked by Breakage with a lolloping low end odyssey. Monkeytown wunderkind Siriusmo teams up with Jan Driver and delivers a remix that demonstrates how much they've learnt at the school of Modeselektor.
Review: Along with the introspective punk funk emo of Shocking Pinks, art rock duo Prinzhorn Dance School proved that not everything DFA touches instantly turns to gold. Both acts released albums in 2007 to a Marmite esque reception, and both acts subsequently reclined into the shadows. It's something of a surprise then to see Prinzhorn resurface on DFA via this really nice, beautifully packaged seven inch. It's also good to see the Brighton pair have refined and honed their musical inspiration of sparse, riff heavy arrangements and pissed off lyrics. Definitely worth checking out.
