Review: Few have the depth and breadth of knowledge about music that Anglesey-based punk historian and author Jon Savage has, so to delve into the themed compilation he has put together is an education. Sticking to the idea of doing a musical voyage through the theme and idea of Space, Savage has clearly hit the brief. The Byrds 'C.T.A' sounds like an alien encounter; Devo's 'Space Junk' is quite timely in a lyrical sense, since experts are saying space is becoming a new frontier for war and there's satellite jams. There are some classics that you'd expect here - like Sun Ra - and it's great seeing leftfield icons Wooden Shjips included with their mesmerising cut 'Space Clothes' as theirs is contemporary psychedelia at its finest.

Review: Originally released in 2001 and now receiving its first ever vinyl pressing, Can't Stop It! is Chapter Music's landmark compilation of Australian 70s and 80s post-punk, documenting an integral and formative era in the outback's musical underground. Featuring contributions from lesser known acts who would harbour future members of Aussie alternative staples such as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Einsturzende Neubauten, The Dirty Three and The Go-Betweens, this collection features artists who were either solely independent or who benefited from the foresight of in-the-know labels such as Au-Go-Go, M Squared, Missing Link and Innocent Records. Pinning Chapter Music to the post-punk map at the time of initial release, even garnering them a write-up in The Wire as part of their first taste of international recognition, this newly revitalised vinyl edition comes completely remastered, along with six never-before-reissued bonus tracks, as well as updated liner notes and photos.

Review: Long before its gentrification, and climbing into the unhappy ranks of the world's most expensive non-capital cities, Bristol was a hotbed of alternative culture, DIY ethics and bold, daring artistry. Don't get us wrong - we still adore the South West England enclave, and it still has plenty of weirder and wonderful things to get your teeth into. But, as this epic compilation proves, the breadth of what was happening in town when town was still a predominantly working class town is enviable today. Punk in the true sense of the word, the tracks and bands here really do their best to defy categorisation while sounding effortlessly natural. From icons like Animal Magic, and their funk and jazz-infused swagger, to the glam-tinged riffs of The Numbers and The Escape's theatrical, post- imbued sound, this is impossible to resist. Especially at that price.
