At 56 years old, Fukui's playing is a stunning blend of power and delicacy, showcasing a balance of energy, technique, and depth that defined his later years. Accompanied by Kosuke Sakai on bass and Yoshito Eto on drums, the trio delivers electrifying renditions of pieces by Phineas Newborn Jr., Tommy Flanagan, and Wayne Shorter, all of whom had a significant influence on Fukui's style.
