'Music Fur Cats' showcases Key's songwriting depth, followed by 'Wind On Small Paws' with its electro-industrial sci-fi vibe. 'Meteorite' offers glitchy beats. Familiar tracks like 'Bird', 'Blotter', and 'Greenhouse Gasses' provide accessible listening, albeit experimental. 'Music For Cats' is gritty and against the grain, yet melodic. Review: Always injecting the field of turntables with playful flair from day one, Kid Koala is a seasoned hand at spreading joy with his creations. In that sense, his new album concept isn't a huge surprise, but that doesn't detract from it being a brilliant and novel idea. Creatures Of The Late Afternoon is a new double-LP which also serves as the soundtrack to the included board game, which Koala has developed and designed himself. The over-arching concept revolves around the titular creatures adventuring on a mission to make a band, prizing community and threading in some environmental values without making the point too bluntly. Hitting a sweet spot towards broad appeal while holding true to his dexterous deck-juggling legacy, it's another fine step on for the mighty Koala.

Review: Music Is Our Friend serves as the final release from progressive rock giants King Crimson; a live album recorded during their 2021 US farewell tour. Originally planned for 2020 but delayed an entire year due to the pandemic, several shows were to be moved due to extreme weather, though the band didn't end up cancelling a single date. Labelled as an official bootleg, the primary bulk of material comes from the final Washington stop, apart from the last four cuts which were taken from the pre-tour "Friends & Family" show in Albany. Spread out over a beastly 200 gram 3xLP collection, clocking in at a mammoth two and a quarter hours, and spanning their decades-long, monolithic discography, this bootie is a must have for fans, who, for no other fathomable reason, may never get to experience purchasing a new release adorned with the moniker of the great king ever again. At least we still have Robert Fripp's YouTube covers with wife Toyah Willcox to entertain us into oblivion.

For a band who formed in 2010, that's a lot of work, and yet somehow these precociously talented pscyhonauts never miss. There's a breezy, joyous lilt to this latest opus as 'Mycelium' opens up proceedings, setting us off on a jammed-out journey through seven pieces built around the seven Greek modes (musical scales). If you're already hip to the freewheeling sound of these modern day freak-beaters, then you know you're going to love this one already. Long live the kings!
