Review: Love baritones like Nick Cave? Well, Worcestershire's And Also The Trees are the deep cut version - epic dark crooner rock for those in the know. They formed in 1979, toured with The Cure and had Robert Smith and Lol Tolhurst produce early recordings. This is a repressing of their tenth studio album - which came out 2007 - and they're darker than The Cure here. 'River Droite' is a haunting blend of electric guitar, keys and racing drums that isn't shy to add layers. 'Candace' is more sparse with tender arpeggio picking, piano and double bass tones filling your room with a foreboding presence. Clearly an important port of call if you're digging deep into the history of goth.
