The Erica Synths Black BBD is one of kind analogue delay module. It features two BBD lines: short, 1024 stage and long, 4096 stage, that work simultaneously and you can smoothly fade between those two, thus creating distinct multitap effect.

Furthermore, an advanced BBD clock noise cancellation circuit is implemented that reduces unwanted BBD noise without filtering higher frequencies of audio signal. Most of parameters are voltage controlled, which allows to integrate the module in complex modular setups.

Time

This is delay time manual control.

Because of BBD clock suspension circuit, delay time can be pushed in extremely long regions, however in that case BBD clock noise may appear. The Time CV is added to the knob setting.

In level

This is the input attenuator switch. Select among full amplitude, half amplitude and audio off.

BBD mode

This control smoothly fades between short and long delays. Any setting in-between will result in distinct multitap delay effect.

LFO rate

Adjust the internal modulation LFO rate. The internal LFO controls delay time, and it's automatically disengaged, when an external modulation signal is connected. The LED gives visual feedback on the LFO rate.

LFO shape

Select the LFO shape. Three shapes are available - triangle, square and in-between shape - mix of triangle and square.

Input

This is the audio input of the module. This is manual Dry/Wet mix. The MIX CV is added to the knob setting.

Colour

Even though the module has BBD clock suspension circuit, the colour switch provides extra lowpass filtering of the signal. At top setting no filtering is applied, at lower settings increasing filtering is present.

Feedback

This is the delay feedback manual control. In extreme clockwise settings the module goes into self-oscillation, and by adjusting delay time and BBD mode settings, the module becomes a drone machine. The FBK CV is added to the knob setting.

CV level

This is the Time CV level attenuator. If nothing is patched into TIME CV socket, it controls the internal LFO amplitude.

WET out

This is the WET signal output of the module - use it for advanced patches.

Out

This is the main output of the module.

The Erica Synths Black Dual ASR EG is a versatile, full analogue voltage controlled looping envelope generator and low frequency oscillator with manually and voltage controlled shape and rate, designed for use in advanced modular systems.

It has two identical parts, each featuring all typical envelope generator controls and bonus features - the end of the cycle output and bi-polar LFO output. When in loop mode the shortest attack and decay settings turn the module into voltage controlled drone oscillator with adjustable waveform (it will not track 1V/oct, though).

Notes: Multi-function eight-channel LFO, joystick, movement recorder and drone oscillator that packs in lots more functionality than you might expect. A real modulation powerhouse in a compact format.

Erica Synths Black Joystick2 is 8 channel multi functional CV and sound source - joystick, movement recorder, distinct LFO and drone/noise oscillator. It provides great interaction with the modular system and allows to develop unconventional modulation patterns instantly.

Notes: The Erica Synths Black Low Pass VCF is designed for analogue purists, who take sound design seriously. It's highly stable, 24dB/oct resonant low pass VCF with voltage control over cutoff (two CV inputs, one is with an attenuverter) and resonance. Bonus features are built in post-filter overdrive circuit with user adjustable drive amount and the Black Filter Coupler connector.

Cutoff

This is the main control of the module - manual cutoff frequency adjustment. The incoming CV is added to the cutoff knob position.

Drive

For extreme results, flip the drive switch on! This will apply post-filter drive. You can preset drive level to your taste by adjusting a trimpot close to the switch on the back side of the module.

Reso CV In

This is the resonance CV input.

In Level

Adjust the audio signal level.

Resonance

Adjust the resonance level manually. On settings over 1PM the filter will start to self-oscillate. The incoming CV is added to the resonance knob position.

CV1 Level

This is cutoff CV attenuverter. Adjust the CV level to your taste!

ResoCV Level

Adjust the resonance CV level to your taste.

These are the cutoff CV inputs. The CV1 level is adjustable by CV1 LEVEL attenuverter knob, CV2 is applied to the cutoff without attenuation.

The Black Low Pass VCF has a hidden feature - the Black Filter Coupler connector. The Erica Synths Black Filter Coupler is a satellite module for the Black High Pass and the Black Low Pass VCFs, and it adds versatile Bandpass and Band Reject filter functionality to your modular system.

Please note, that the Black Filter Coupler works only with Erica Synths modules and you need both Black High Pass and Low Pass VCFs.

Remove the jumper and connect the Erica Synths Black Filter Coupler. 2x5pin ribbon cable is supplied with the Black Filter Coupler module. Use this trimpot to adjust post-filter overdrive to your taste.

Notes: The Erica Synths Black Ring-Xfade is an extremely versatile module for sound shaping. It consists of two unconventional ringmodulators/waveshapers, a crossfader that works both for audio and CV and a VCA. Unlike conventional ringmodulator that works only with a signal present on both signal and carrier inputs, the Black Ring-Xfade passes through the signal without alteration, if no carrier is present, but low level signals on the carrier input result in unique waveshaping. Add the crossfader between two ringmodulators (or as a separate unit) topped up with the VCA, and you have an amplitude modulation powerplant in 10HP!

Ring1 CV; Ring2 CV
These are the ringmodulator carrier (CV level) level controls. Unlike conventional ringmodulator, this one passes signal unaltered, if RING CV is turned down. With increasing Ring CV level a slight waveshaping turns into proper ringmodulation.

Xfade
This is a manual Crossfade control. This fades smoothly between signals patched into XFADE IN1 and XFADE IN2. The XFADE CV is added to the knob position.

Coupling
Set the Crossfader mode - AC is optimized for use with the audio signals, DC - for control voltages (but it will work fine with audio, as well).

Ring 1; Ring 2
The green LEDs give visual feedback on signal levels, applied to XFADE IN1 and XFADE IN2 respectively.

Vol CV
Select the VCA CV response. A 0-10V setting is intended for use with the envelope generator, a -5V - +5V setting - for nice tremolos with a LFO.

Xfade IN1; Xfade IN2
These are the Crossfader inputs. They are normalled to the Ringmodulator ouputs, so, if nothing is patched here, you can crossfade between two ringmodulated signals.

Xfade CV
This is the Crossfader CV input. The CV is added to the XFADE knob setting.

VOL CV
This is the VCA CV input. The VCA is post-crossfade - it controls the amplitude of a resulting signal after the crossfader. It will also work with low frequency control voltages applied to the XFADE Ins - nice for designing unconventional modulations.

Ring1 Out; Ring2 Out
These are the ringmodulator outputs.

Xfade Out
This is the Crossfader output and the main output of the module.

Ring2 In; Ring2 CV
These are the second Ringmoduator signal and carrier inputs respectively. These two are normalled to the RING1 inputs, and if no signal is patched here, the duplicate the first Ringmodulator. Interesting trick is to set RING CVs at different levels and crossfade between two ringmodulator signals.

Ring1 IN; Ring1 CV
These are the first Ringmoduator signal and carrier inputs respectively.

Fade L; Fade R
The red LEDs indicate the crossfader position.

Xfade CV LVL
This is a crossfade CV level attenuator. By adjusting it you can control a span of fading between inputs.

Erica Synths Graphic VCO allows you to draw your own waveforms, arrange them in wavetables and wavetable banks, morph between two selected waves and alter the resulting wave in advanced ways (FXes) - apply FM, phase distortion, ring modulation, wavefold/wavewrap, bitcrush.

Waves, wavetables, FXes and other settings can be saved and recalled from the memory instantly. The module has two outputs - the main output and the output with configurable suboscillator.

The sound is clean, modern, punchy and detailed thanks to the unit running at 96kHz - quite different to some low bit-rate wavetable oscillators on the market. Wavetable interpolation is smooth as butter and with the built-in effects you can dirty things up in many different ways. The module scores highly on the sound front. The Graphic VCO is a very capable oscillator module with excellent sound quality and a lot of features that could make it the right choice, especially if live performance is your thing. - Sound On Sound
The bottom line is that the Graphic VCO is a joy to use. It's a module that's unashamedly digital, yet unmistakably eurorack. I think Erica showed a great deal of careful judgement and restraint in the design of this module. It would have been easy to have made it bloated and cumbersome trying to cram as many features as possible into it, but they kept it fairly simple which keeps the module fun and immediate in use. Notes: Pico DSP is a small brother of the popular stereo effects processor Black Hole DSP. It contains eight algorithms, in detail four delays, two types of reverb, Leslie speaker emulation and an Overdrive/Bitcrusher. Each effect is editable in two parameters. One of them can be modulated using the CV input. Pico DSP features clear, high-resolution sound. Alongside the established standards, it is also possible to generate lots of freaky special effects.

Notes: Pico EF is Erica Synths' take on envelope follower module in 3hp! Pico EF features a preamp with +40dB gain (enough to boost even guitar and dynamic microphone signals for use in a modular system), envelope output with adjustable attack time and a gate output with adjustable threshold. Notes: Erica Pico INPUT module is just what you need to interface your modular system with external synths or even your mp3 player or mobile phone.

It boosts external signal to modular synth signal level.

With the Pico Input, line signals from, for example, a synthesizer, drum-computer, audio interface or smartphone can be raised to modular level. The module delivers up to 40 dB of gain. Thanks to its two channels, users can comfortably process mono as well as stereo material.

The Pico Input comes equipped with two signal paths. Each signal path features an audio input, a volume potentiometer and an output. Up to 40 dB of amplification are available. Using jumpers on the circuit board, it is possible to dampen the maximum gain to 20 dB. The module's first input is a stereo jack, meaning the user can connect a smartphone or tablet without any adapter cables. In this case, incoming signals are distributed internally to both channels.

Notes: Pico Mixer is simple 3 channel DC coupled mixer intended to mix audio signals and CV signals in order to obtain complex modulations. Also it may serve as CV and audio attenuator.

Notes: Those, who own Moog Mother 32 know, that it requires -5V - +5V on 1V/oct input to operate in full range, while the eurorack standard is 0V - +10V. So, to control Moog Mother 32 from a eurorack sequencer you need to bias a sequencer output for 5 volts down. And vice versa, Moog Mother 32 sequencer outputs -5V - +5V on 1V/oct output, and, if you wish to control some eurorack VCO from Moog Mother 32, you need to bias it 5 volts up. This is exactly what MSCALE does: it has two sections, upper one adds 5V to the input voltage, other subtracts 5V form the input voltage.

Of course, the module is not limited for use with Moog Mother 32 only. You can use it as a regular eurorack precision voltage scaler.

Notes: Performance oriented Sample Drum brings you two independent drum sounds or loops with plenty of manual and CV controlled parameters. Samples are stored on the microSD card, and OLED screen makes working with samples instant and easy.

Sample Drum allows you to slice up loops directly in your modular system and rearrange them to taste. For processing, there are tuning functions (including 1 v/octave pitch tracking) and virtual VCAs plus AD envelopes. Thanks to the module's dual-channel concept, two loops can be combined. It is also possible to load one-shot samples instead of entire rhythms, of course. A total of six CV inputs guarantees lively results.

Sample Drum is composed of two identical audio players. WAV files (including cue points) are fed to the module via a micro SD card. Loops can be cut into several sections using the Data, Start and End potentiometers. The resulting slices may be played back in any order imaginable. A tune control allows real-time pitch changes. Additionally, there is a virtual VCA plus AD envelope per slice. - But that's not all! There are three CV inputs per channel, which can be routed to any parameters.
