Romania's Ada Kaleh is undoubtedly one of the brightest (darkest!) talents currently operating out of Romania's rich musical landscape: quite a compliment when you consider the current wealth of talent in the nation's minimal techno scene at present. With another upcoming release on legendary techno powerhouse R&S this Summer, could this mean a wider recognition of such a niche sound in the greater electronic music community? Real name Iulian Cuculea, he helms the impressive eponymous imprint which, although mainly devoted to his own works, has also released tracks by emerging Italian talent Christopher Ledger and of course local legend Sepp of UVAR Records. These remixes taken from his 2015/2016 split opus Dene Descris are tremendous and stand up in their own right. Current scene favourite and Atipic boss Priku delivers a hypnotic mini-funk groover on his rendition of "Sonata Disonanta". As does young upstart Mihai Mihalcea aka Teluric on the subtle, ethereal and rolling trance induction of "Dialog Interior". Of course it couldn't be a Romanian minimal affair without a Nu Zau remix right? His version of "Detasare" being a great example of his evolved production style which forgoes the the woody and organic sounds of his recent past and instead focusing on a new found love of microhouse aesthetics.
