Sebastian Kramer brings his Redshape buzz to the Present label for the second time this year after a silent 2012. "Made Of Steel" skirts between deep, Chicago house and Redshape's own brand of kinetically charged analogue techno. It features a sweet and bleepy bassline with harmonious chords to match, while gritty phase techniques give the track a harder, but machine-soulful edge. The flip offers a punked version of the A-side, which strips the original of its full-length bass and chord progressions, swapping it for a sustained lead, body rhythmic beats and rolling tom drums instead.
