PM' Warson has the look and sound of a 60s soul singer. But he is very much a contemporary artist who has made a quick impression in the last couple years with his releases on Legere Recordings. They exude all the right hallmarks - the swooning female backing singers, the pirouetting drum work and steamy guitars riff that make you want to get up and dance in a slick Northern Soul style. This latest brace opens with the punchy '(Don't) Hold Me Down' with its textured riffs and big horns, then goes for something a little more subtle, downbeat and sensuous on the flip with 'In Conversation.'
