Nesa Azadikhah - "Fleeting Emotions" (5:45)
Alien D - "Heavy Cream" (6:31)
Review: It's time to take your first steps into the Kulture Galerie, a new label that kicks off with a various artists offering which lays out is sonic mission in clear and compelling terms. This new venture from Metropolitan Soul Museum kicks off with the super fluid and liquid house sounds of Abdul Raeva's 'Grace' before Gene Tellem's 'Nervous Planet' gets all misty eyed and downtempo with a lush deep thinker. Nesa Azadikhah's 'Fleeting Emotions' then sets off a nice minimal vibe that is super warm and fuzzy and Alien D's 'Heavy Cream' is a float, breakbeat driven post-rave comedown.

Vola (12:27)
Tensione (7:15)
Review: Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan, the masterminds behind the Ouie label, reunite for another collaborative effort, this time delivering a two-track EP that embodies their signature sound. 'Vola' is a hypnotic and psychedelic journey, its spongy rhythm and eclectic samples creating a lush and meditative atmosphere. The track's intricate textures and subtle melodies invite the listener to get lost in its depths, a perfect example of the duo's ability to craft intimate and evocative electronic music. 'Tensione', the B-side, builds upon this foundation, incorporating modular arpeggios and tasteful pads to create a more dynamic and expansive soundscape. Hypnotic rhythms, intricate textures, and psychedelic flourishes - job done.

Melancholy Man - "Special Request" (5:15)
Watt Noize - "It's My Life" (5:09)
No Smoke - "Theme From The Stars" (7:01)
Review: London's Warriors Dance label was a unique operation and a pioneering label during the late 80's acid house phenomena. This EP from 1991 is reissued in its original form with all four cuts intact, in particular Addis Posse's "After Midnight'. This is a strong statement of intent: blistering and obscure cuts from the depths of Harrow Road, drawing on the breakbeat heavy, hip-hop orientated style the crew were known for. Pure London street sounds infused with the techno and house sensibilities that made the label so potent.

Alzaya is a boutique label from Milan that has put out a select few EPs over the last three years from names such as Paula Tape. Now it kicks off a new Various Artist series with five quality tunes. Akasha System's 'Midnight Tide' is a nice neon-lit future tech cut with bubbling, soft focus melodies. Tape Hiss offers the old school piano laced joy of 'Scirocco' and Manuel Darquart slips into deep cosmic house lushness with 'Low Tide.' The mellifluous melodies keep on coming with Cosmic Cherry and Nicodemo who offer a pair of sleek and stylish sounds.

Nick Holder - "A Black Man In America" (instrumental edit) (3:54)
Review: Here is the Annual NDATL special edition release, featuring label head honcho Kai Alce. The explorations begins with the smooth and smoky late night deepness of "Thrown Away" ,with its truthful spoken word dialogue. This is followed by an addition by Trackmode boss Brett Dancer on the same side - he provides some proper Midwest vibes on the soulful/bittersweet bounce of "Art". On the flip, it's all about Toronto legend Nick Holder, who has made a welcome return to production here: he serves up the lo-slung groove of "Disco 79'" harking back to his early days of disco loops (think back to his classic One Night In The Disco from back in '96), through to the super slick and emotive "A Black Man In America".

83 West - "My Sound (redux)" (6:56)
Review: All proceeds and profits from this new drop on Selections will be donated to Black Lives Matter charities, making it an even more appealing offer beyond the sheer quality of the house heads gathered together here. The mighty Kai Alce leads the charge with the sweet and bumping 'Hear The Waves', which is followed up by the punchy but warm 'Furacao Dento' by Demuir. Nick Holder opens the B side up with a killer slice of broken beat house, all crooked percussion locked into a deep, rolling groove. 83 West finishes the record off with a teasing, slow-release heater that keeps the energy simmering throughout - a masterfully executed cut to hold the dancefloor under a spell.

Review: Barcelona's Subwax emporium is an umbrella company for a variety of different labels and acts as a distributor for them, too. For this year's Record Store Day festivities, their Subwax Bcn sublabel returns with a tightly knit collaborative EP by some of the clan's most trusted affiliates. The always on-point Amir Alexander touches down with a stepping, sci-fi-leaning house cut in the shape of "I Remember House When House Was House"; Nicson and An Gelo spin the gears down into deep mode with "Hold Your Horses", and Thomas Wood's "Always Underground" takes care of the dancefloor jerking thanks to its rolling, bumping Chicago-inspired bassline.

Review: This new 12" from High Fashion sure has the potential to become a popular hit on the more commercially minded dance floors out there. It's a mega-mash-up with ALOK, Never Dull, Kenny Dope featuring Ella Eyre and cult 90s vocalists Crystal Waters all featuring. The result is a nice deep house cut with classic neon chords and hooky vocal samples recognisable to all. There is an extended mix for more drawn our pleasures on the floor and the original version. They both make for fine intersections between house, pop and soul.

Dried Fruit (5:43)
Powder (5:58)
Review: Nail is one of UK house music's most vital contributors. His raw sound pioneered a new style of tech house in the 90s and here he reappears under a different alias, AM Vibe. 'Vibe With Me' kicks off with nice loose drums and perc and jazzy keys adding the warmth and soul. 'I'm So High' brings some loopy and filtered fun and phased vocals for a sleazy feel, then 'Dried Fruit' gets more upbeat with lush synth swirls and effortlessly cool drums and rich r&b vocal samples. 'Powder' closes out with some thumping kicks and more tender vocal stabs. As always, this is brilliantly heartfelt and effective tackle from Nail.

Review: Oh my Lord, it's a new Mahogani twelve inch which has taken us by complete surprise! Detroit's Amp Fiddler hasn't appeared on KDJ's imprint in a while, but the man is never forgotten; we know just how important he is to the label and scene, so this actually feels like a return to normality for us. "So Sweet" is remixed twice: first up, the legendary Louie Vega reframes it into a majestic slice of soulful house for the late night hours, while Waajeed drops a supremely funky and viciously seductive soul monster that easily makes for the sexiest tune available on our charts right now! There's an instrumental on the back of it, too!

Joey Anderson - "My Cassetts"
Nicuri - "Sumthin Late Last Night"
Nicuri - "Behind Many Faces"
Review: Sound Theory is a brand new label from Exchange Place DJ/producer Nicuri. Here, he handles B-side duties, with pal Joey Anderson stretching out on the A. Given the standard of his debut LP, it's little surprise to see Anderson impressing here, with the deep acid of "My Cassetts" providing a pungent blend of undulating 303 lines, sparse pads, occasional starburst electronics and cymbal-driven percussion. Nicuri toughens things up on the flip, dropping a pair of tracks that revolve around heavily compressed drums, hustling rhythms and vintage techno electronics. Choose between the early R&S-meets-Transmat feel of "Late Last Night" and the trippy, deep space vibes of "Behind Many Faces".

Anil Aras leads the mission with a rippling Detroitian understated number simply called "Track 1". He's flanked by Paolo Rocco and Moises. Review: Especial is a label always on a mission to unearth left-of-centre perspectives on club music. This new EP, Be Honest, is just that from long-time friends Lipelis and Arsenii, who are based in Belgrade and New York but seek inspiration in the New York sounds of the 80s and hook up with Gayana for some woozy and lovelorn vocal additions. 'Be Honest' is a dubbed out and swaggering deep disco groove that comes as long, dub and cappella versions on the A-side. The 12" dance mix brings some superb house drums into the picture and the Dubplate VIP is a fresh jungle rhythm. This is an EP with something for all.

Review: French label D3 - which when pronounced in French sounds like their word for Detroit - is a decade old and celebrates the milestone with a special three-part EP series. As has always been the case over that 10 year period, the sounds it serves up are deep and housey. This various artists affair kicks off with AsTreJinkins' slow and propulsive 'Terror' before some nice airy and live sounding broken beats from New Digital Fidelity. Moroka picks up the pace with some hi-tek soul that sounds straight from the Motor City and Byron The Aquarius shows off his mastery of the keys again with a dreamy deep cut 'Tua Su Ra'. Nico Lahs shuts down with a heavyweight beatdown in the form of 'It's Spelled BARI.'

Review: Back ion 2021, the relaunched Foliage Records imprint offered up a killer mix from NYC house legends Mood II Swing, the must-check Deep Rooted. Soon, the revitalised label will release a sequel, with long-serving British deep house don Atjazz at the helm. Review: Untold Stories finally tells their first story in Various Artists form, reaching their hands deep into a forgotten folk corpus to retranslate each tale to we, who only speak house and techno. Described heartily as a ripple-maker, Lebanese producer Nesta devises his own folk fairytale with 'Bouchees A La Reine', with Axel S leading on with a nostalgic and groovy jazzy infused minimal track to counterpoint the A's meaty copra. On the B, Sonus takes the help with a surreal electro-dance burbler on which a winsome voice repeats the word "dreaming". And closing out comes the flat beat knockout 'Like This Girl', an instructive melody for future storytellers.

Review: The next entry in Tresydos' tenth release series features another four sterling slices of contemporary minimal tech house trance fusions, leading in with B Love's 'Video Soul', which samples a television interview with legendary talk box funker Roger Troutman. Arnic follows that with the brooding synth construction of 'I'm Into You' before Neik's 'New Age' cools things down with a rolling, warm-up-friendly groove. Atree's 'Augmented Reality' is a spikier affair to end the record on an uptempo note, maintaining the playful energy which binds the whole record together in a burst of catchy baselines and cheeky samples.

Review: There's an undeniably classic house feel about this debut EP from Italy's Bolo Represent, a label set up to showcase the work of Bologna-based producers. Bassa Clan opener "051" rolls along like an early morning DJ Sneak production, with jazzy keys and hypnotic synth stabs riding a bustling groove. Jackie drops some spacey, bass-heavy deep house in the shape of "Da B-Touch", while Nudge's "Jus I" sounds like Simoncino's woozier work after several high-grade jazz cigarettes. Arguably best of all, though is DJ Cream's "40100", which comes on like a long lost dream house-era tribute to the organ-heavy sound of New Jersey garage.

Review: In April this year Jersey house legend Kerri Chandler compiled his 23-track House Legends mix for King Street Sounds. This first sampler puts to the spot light Chandler's Bassmental project with Japanese producer Shuji Hirose and King Street Sounds co-founder Yahya McDougald. The slamming, vocal fuelled "It's The Music" is woozy on Rhodes but energetic enough to inspire a gym class of heavy steppers, while Charles McDougalds' gnarly vocals on "Just Wanna Be With You" act in a call and response to the rest of the track's euphoric antics. Nu Phonic's I" Wanna Be Your Lover" lands in the middle of Kerri Chandler's original mix CD, and for good reason, as it's the most energised and danceable track you would wanna hear Kerri drop.

It's backed on side B by short IDM number 'Detroit Movements' and 'Going Home', a superbly emotive, atmospheric and immersive sci-fi techno number that's as blissful and positive as they come.

Review: Having previously blessed us with "Ocean Side" two years back, Benedek and Tom Noble return to Superior Elevation with two more Balearic gems. One for the night time, one for sunrise; "World Gruuv" hits the boogie spot with spiralling keys wandering freely up and down a tight shimmering synth-bass led groove. Meanwhile "Profesora" on the B brings us back into reality softly with its addictive percussive hook, aquatic backing and totally tropical taste. Imagine Art Of Noise on Claremont 56 and you're on the right route.

Nick Beringer - "Nyx" (5:52)
Pascal Benjamin - "Falkhill" (6:32)
Review: The next airdrop from the good ship Constant Black is a various artists affair with four tracks from four artists guaranteed to find a home in your extended micro sesh. Pascal Benjamin takes the lead with "Falkhill", locking into a Romanian-flavoured minimal breaks formation that rolls in resplendent fashion with a particularly choice vocal lick from an undisclosed RnB track. Michael James and Benjamin Joseph nudge the pitch fader up and dial in the swing for the decidedly funky wiggler "The Island", and TIJN keeps things bumping but works in some sharper drum sounds for the tough but bouncy "Maybe". Nick Beringer finishes the record off with the chunky funk of "Nyx", calling to mind Mike Shannon amongst others.

Review: The Black Ice Productions crew were putting out some mighty fine garage house back in the early-to-mid nineties and their infamous - and pioneering - EP's have become rather costly on the second-hand market. Thankfully, their first EP on Swing Street has been reissued and is now available in its original vinyl format! This is the sort of sound that plenty of contemporary house producers emulate on a constant basis, but it's Black Ice's freedom of expression which renders them so relevant to this day. Choppy samples, broken chords and viciously jacking beats make up these six house nuggets, and if you're into your Dance Mania s*** then you should look no further and purchase on sight...

Review: Tony Black's latest single, 'Sexy Lady,' released on FullTime Production, is a vibrant blend of disco, funk, and house. The track features standout vocals from Nadyne Rush and Jacob A, adding a soulful touch to its infectious beat. 'Sexy Lady' is instantly memorable, capturing the essence of each genre it fuses. The remix contributions by Italian producer Da Lukas deliver powerful club-ready versions, with the Da Lukas remix and Da Lukas vocalize remix both offering distinctive grooves. Souls Groove's mix brings out the funk and soul elements, showcasing the more musical side. Each version of the track adds its own unique flavour, making 'Sexy Lady' a versatile release.

On the B-side, Nicola Brusegan and Camilo Gil unite to create a soulful deep house track complete with lush chords and pulsating basslines, and this one is paired with a remix from Jorge Caiado that is sure to electrify dance floors thanks to his knack for crafting statement-making sound and pulsating acid vibes.

Review: The trope of the 'woodland dance' is one that has seen an uptick in dance music circles in recent years. This is where producers imagine a futuristic wilderness of biosynthetic trees and alien soils, and make music that would reflect the chance encounters found and emotions felt there. This collaborative EP for Voiceless - between Bodin, Simic, Mayell, and Noiro - falls neatly into that category. The eponymous 'Funki Jungle' is one of acidic delights, photosynthetic pads and gated, sappy spurts. The likes of 'Idle Instincts' and 'Imperialism', our highlights, touch on vestiges of Italo and classic house, while also using a select array of future sounds that could only truly sound 'organic' in a such an alien jungle.

Nina Kraviz - "Zlobnii Mikrob"
Review: The third Naif release surfaces with a track a piece from two of label boss Efdemin's favourite producers. Spectral Sound mainstay Bodycode burrows deep into your psyche with the worming sounds that unfurl on "A New Species". Beginning as some sort of slightly uneasy deep jack, the track accrues several layers of throbbing energy as it progresses to strangely hypnotic effect. Nina Kraviz is no strangers to Efdemin's label having featured on last year's inaugural release and the Russian presides over the B Side with "Zlobnii Mikrob". On its own, the track which sees Kraviz's whispered vocals slip out over a relentless minimal bump and liquid melody is pleasant enough, but sits in the colossal shadow of the A Side.

Review: Kulture Galerie has got off to a superb start with a release that got the attention of big names such as Laurent Garnier, Midland and Vladimir Ivkovic. The pressure is on, in that case, to follow that up with a second release that makes just as much impact and the label passes the test with flying colours with a various artists' collection featuring some big names. Chief amongst them are Detroit don John Beltran with his scintillating hi-tek soul workout 'Canarias', and Bohm with the densely woven synth layers and dusty drum programming over the gorgeous 'Tactical Options!' Add in the more hard edge drums of 'Metropolitan Soul Museum's 'Negative Mouth', the melodic elegance of 'Bankastraat' and the acid madness of Tramic's 'Lanterns' and you have a vital 12".

This first part layers up slick and groovy percussion on rubber bass and warm chords that come with elements of jazz and merry melody. Timeless stuff that captures the very essence of house music.

"Out Of Body Experience" boasts seven tracks, all of which explore similar sonic pastures to the project's classic, late '80s/early '90s material. That means tactile synthesizer basslines, ear-catching melodies, classic house synth sounds and drum machine beats rich in Burrell's usual infectious swing. Highlights include the breezy and life-affirming jazziness of "3rd Time", the bass-heavy, intergalactic thump of "5th Time" (a cut that would neatly fit into Bleep techno-influenced sets) and the summery warmth of "2nd Time".
