The past year has seen Vern rise to prominence within the ever-bustling Romanian minimal scene, thanks to releases on Lokomotiv, Joule Imprint, Re.Face and Rowle. Now he follows fellow scenester Priku to Serbian label Octophonic with more of his richly defined, widescreen club cuts. "Clarobscur" is a warm and fluid workout with plenty of dubwise inflections around the core groove, while "Delight" is a chunkier affair with a weighty low end and playful synth work shimmering around the rock solid rhythm section. "Epilog" sports a rolling shuffle and feelgood chords pulsing throughout, and "Trivial" does what every self-respecting B2 should, and cools the session down with some aqueous pads and an expressive dose of funk.
