Francis Overcast was already making some waves with his soulful strain of house music, getting co-signs from the likes of Dr. Packer for his breakthrough track 'I Ain't'. Then it really blew up, and the legendary Kenny Dope stepped up to rework the track, resulting in this pure fire 7" now dropping on Dope's own Kay-Dee label. Coming in two parts spread across the two sides, it's the kind of deadly cocktail of bruk groove and anthemic vocal which screams crossover hit. The drums alone are an unmissable delight, let alone the rest of this essential record.
