Rewind: following recent reissues "I Spy" and "Roll On", old school don DJ Monk plunders his vaults once again for two more vintage delights. Neither "Hold Me" or "Dreams" ever saw full release beyond dubplate but remastered and toned for today's muscular loudness war both still pack wholly relevant punches. "Hold On" is straight out of the Urban Takeover playbook; all bubbly bass and tense hooky funk. "Dreams", meanwhile, rattles on a sub-based lead, skitty amens and a simply vocal sample. Timeless.
