Review: Titantic techno talent Marcus Suckut is back on his own SCKT label with a carefully assembled package of high-grade weaponry that comes on nice heavyweight purple marbled vinyl. As you should expect from the man by now it is well-designed stuff from the off - all direct to dancefloor grooves that waste not a single second of sound. The drums are often weighty and dubbed out, the synths sleek and filled with a curious sense of the unknown, and the moods enveloping and full of microscopic details that keep the head as busy as the heel.

Review: The second half of Markus Suckut's Sckt 09 release finally arrives after a standout first volume caught us up with the German techno veteran's latest explorations in the deeper end of the big room spectrum. 'Put Into Effect' is a perfect slice of wormhole immersion thanks to the insistent throb of the low-mid synth and the pneumatic glide of the atmospheric sound design, all the better to close your eyes and lose yourself. 'Contact' is a leaner cut with a focus on skeletal drum machine rhythms and subtle textural work, while 'Push & Pull' creates more daring grooves out of processed sonics for when you want to challenge the dancefloor a touch. Watch out for 'Realm' too, a low-key looper that sounds like an ideal pace-makers in the middle of a marathon set.
