Matt Guy's 'Give Me What I Want' is an emotive banger with big synth energy and reverberating vocals while ADHS's '2STEP' hits hard with its flaming drums and trance-y synths. Kaiserdisco then brings dark, stomping warehouse energy to their raved-ready 'Get On The Dancefloor.'

Review: Kaiserdisco bring some big room techno energy to the one label in the world that is most synonymous with that sound - Adam Beyer's Drumcode. Opener 'In The Music' is a dark and driving cut with an acid tinged bassline over hard, hammering, flat footed drums. Add in a dark vocal hook and you have a real monster. 'Error In The System' on the flip is another moody techno pumper for the main room with hefty drums, eerie siren sounds and of plenty squelchy designs. It's a real headwrecker to close out a big 12".

Review: The rather prolific Senoid Recordings label head Kike Pravda steps up to Dutch label Nord here with a bumper double pack of his searing techno. These are direct-to-dance floor tunes with nary an ambient interlude or synth-laden intro in sight. 'Octane' gets right to business with wonky synths and industrial darkness, 'Dark Flares' is a more fizzing wall of sound and elsewhere 'Fractals' rattles the walls with its monstrous subs. There is some pent-up synth energy to 'The Unknown' and 'Strange Forces' is a dense and intense roller full of menace and paranoia.

Planet Rhythm releases are always a safe bet in that regard, but that's especially the case on this Risk Management 12". Amongst the dependable contenders bringing the high-pressure goods are Klint, who throws down some darting pulses and steely kicks on the tough but funky 'Falcon' and Rove Ranger who twists up nerve-shredding rhythmic interplay with a committed trajectory deep down the wormhole. There are psychoactive fireworks and relentless forward momentum spilling out of every inch of this 12", making it a no-brainer for anyone serious about keeping the dancefloor tuned up.

Review: Bulgarian techno mainstay and live performer extraordinary KiNK is back on his own Sofia label with its ninth release and it takes the form of a new collaboration with the talented Rachel Row. It has three new cuts and a pair of DJ accapellas that layer up the vocals for use by more adventurous selectors. As for the originals, they really bang - 'Time' has hammering kicks and is wired up with anxiety-inducing pads and saw-tooth buzz sounds, while 'Freedom' brings some gospel vocal energy to stomping drums and supercharged synths that cannot fail to bring chaos to any party.

Review: Analogue is the Greek label which takes no prisoners in its pursuit of pure techno perfection and that's abundantly clear on this latest Various Artists drop, as Dax J kicks into gear with the searing, pummelling intensity of 'Ares'. It's a proper fist-shaker which sets you up for the hi-octane rumble of Kaiser's 'Kal' and ANFS' industrial jackhammer 'Amete'. That leaves Jerm to clean up with another weapons grade sheller driving ever-downwards in the ultimate ticket to peak time submission. This is techno in the toughest sense of the word - a very specific sound executed perfectly.

Long-time label cohort Reeko provides the elongated mind trip that is "Enlightenment Process", and the last spot is of course reserved for industrial demigod Adam X who doesn't falter with the voltage charged "Meridien Arc".

Review: The Aphrology EP marks a killer induction into the MOS Deep annals of excellence from Ksoul & Muteoscillator, the Italian duo who have impressed intermittently with their dense brand of techno for Uzuri and Kinda Soul Recordings (which is overseen by Ksoul himself). The two part "Criminology" opens proceedings face up, with the restrained acid leanings of the opening gambit slightly overwhelmed by the unrelenting modulated brutality of its subsequent partner. Face down and MOS Deep ringleader Aroy Dee sneaks in with his own edit of "Aphrology" before Ksoul and Muteoscillator can demonstrate the title track's prowess - it's Dee to a tee, taking the well judged house that swells with ever menacing machine squeals and adding his own subtle percussive embellishments.

Review: The Speicher series feels almost as old as techno itself by now. It has long been one of the many jewels in Cologne label Kompakt's crown and Kolsch, one of the label's chief mainstays, has been behind many of them. This 128th such offering is a dreamy yet dynamic techno sound that sits up there with some of the label's best offerings. 'Cold Air' is urgent and edgy but always awash with waves of melodic sheen even when the ragged bass is in free fall. 'Environ' then has a 90s IDM Warp feel to it with its bright reflective melodies filtered and drawn out, stretched and smeared over a big and bouncy beat.

Review: UK producer Inigo Kennedy - also known as Seducer, Tomito Satori and Helki Torsnum - comes up with a pair of techno tracks that positively glisten with luxuriant melody and a beautiful musicality that's rare to ape in this - or indeed any - scene. 'RackSpace 2' and 'Dewdrops' both glide with serene ease, the melodies weaving away in the back seat of the track but never threatening to overwhlelm the atmosphere. The latter is definitely operating in a spacier sphere, with the reverbs and delays working overtime, but both are nicely restrained takes on techno that nevertheless paint vivid sonic pictures.

Review: Don your space suit and hop onboard another trip to Planet Rhythm. This one is at the hands of techno troubadour Klint who is a master of achieving a lot with a little. HIs perfectly designed flops could roll for days if you ask us. And that's whether they are edgy and restless as on the unsettling 'Your Fault' or the more intensely layered 'Organic Rewind' which sounds like an automated factory at peak production levels. The tunnelling techno of 'Carbone' is a real mind maze and 'Dust' is from the Mills school of minimalism.

This one finds the Detroit techno pioneer work under his POD alias, where the other is from his Dark Comedy days. A real highlight for the second wave circa 1992, these soul-drenched techno tracks are exactly why we love the Motor City sound so much. Thankfully, all six originals are given full room to breath across two sides of wax - with bonus, previously CD-only tune 'Chinese Checkers' also included for good measure. Our favourite is the icy electro coolness of 'Northern Lights,' or maybe the warm cosmic techno hustle of 'Vanguard.'

Review: To date, Kim Cosmk has generally done her own thing - self-releasing a string of digital-only singles and albums which variously mix and mangle elements of electro, IDM, techno and dubstep. Here she pops up on an established label - Ralph Lawson's 2020 Vision to be exact - for the very first time. First, she whips up a frenzy courtesy of the fuzzy and aggressive riffs of techno roller 'Night Flight', complete with creepy chords and foreboding motifs. She then delivers raw, heavy, industrial-fired electro on 'Ore', whilst warped dubstep and electro are brilliantly mixed on 'Nocturnal'. To round things up nicely, 'Drifting' is a partial vocal number built around a wobbling dubstep bass with punchy electro drums and twinkling pianos.

Review: Last year Brazilian DJ/producer Ana Miranda joined Kompakt Extra following years spent building her reputation via fine releases on such labels as Novamute, Twin Turbo, Yoshitoshi and Terminal M. For her third release on the long-serving German label she's joined forces with another scene queen, the incomparable Miss Kittin. The pair has produced a raw, driving dancefloor beast that's bigger than Donald Trump's ego and infinitely more alluring. "Forever Ravers" is heavy, intense and forthright, with stylized vocal snippets and razor sharp electronic motifs surging above a thumping groove. Miranda offers a different take on the track on side B, opting for bleeping and panicked electronics and spacey bleep melodies.

First up is the ever-untouchable Yoshinori Hayashi, who gets as straight up as he possibly could with the freaky house burner "Dissociative." Telephones is feeling particularly dubbed out and groovy on "Kalimbalimbo", while DB.Source and Riccardo Schiro take things strung out and textural on "Montevago". Dynamo Dreesen is in rave mode for the pepped up and delightfully weird "Reactivate", leaving the final side to Oyvind Morken & Kaman Leung's chugging "Tunnel Visjon" and the rubbery side swipes of Acidboychair's "The End (At Any Speed)".

Review: Dresden's ETUI Records returns this week with Lockdown Loops by Munster native Tim Kossmann, who follows up great releases on Kunst, Greyscale and Telrae. Much like the name suggests, these are some effective DJ tools honed during the pandemic isolation. On the first side 'Loop A' is an hypnotic affair in the vein of classic Basic Channel or echospace, followed by an equally glacial and cavernous journey into the deep on 'Loop B'. Over on the flip, go beyond the frozen borders and freefall further into the abyss on the engulfing 'Loop C'.

Review: Kiko & POPOF deliver a new 'minimal' EP that both kicks and pops off. 'Night Sky', however, abstracts the 'minimal' style into something that is actually quite maximal; though duly working in the tech house formula, the sound palette is dystopian and dark. Doing justice to the French pair's long-standing good rep - Kiko has but 500+ releases to his name - it's only natural that we hear something so fresh. Transformer sound FX and sci-fi impacts adorn each transition, especially on Yulia Niko and Mia Mendi's remixes, coaxing out twin states of ecstasy and dread.

Review: If you've not heard 'Skyscrapers' yet, where have you been? First released digitally last year and accompanied by more remixes than we can count, the track is arguably Nina Kraviz's most accessible, radio-friendly release to date - a potential crossover anthem that's as cool as it is catchy. Now finally available on vinyl via this single-sided seven-inch, 'Skyscrapers' is a prime piece of what Kraftwerk would have called 'techno-pop', with the much-loved Russian producer's sweet vocals rising above a bed of ultra-crunchy, snare-heavy machine drums, dreamy Chris Lowe chords, gaseous pads and ear-catching lead lines. It's basically synth-pop, but it's classy and sonically deep enough to please all but the angriest underground techno purists.

Review: Berlin's Michael Klein has put together a high-grade and heavy-weight five-tracker here for Second State Audio. By now he's considered a core member of the label having put out 11 releases here in the past. He opens this latest with 'Golden Hour' which perfectly sits the drums in the bass and layers up the percussion with off-kilter keys and a smooth arpeggio. There are more twisted melodies and distorted effects on 'Voice Interrupt' while 'In My Own Eyes' goes from stripped back and subtle to more commanding and powerful. There are further driving and peak-time weapons on the flip that makes this another fresh EP from Klein.

Review: Workshop is one of those labels that has always operated at the fringes of genre. Deep house and techno are the loose starting points in many cases, but artists never fail to veer off into the shadowy nether worlds that surround those basic forms. Kolorit does that here with two intriguing cuts all with the same name. The first has lumpy scattered drums, scraping sounds, ticking hi-hats and freaky noise samples all peppering them. The second has haunting chords sequences over a ticking sound that is coated in hiss and crackle. It's late night and mysterious. The third has clattering percussion and shimmering synths that rise and fall and build in tension and intensity.

Review: Keppel was last on this label with a contribution to a various artist collection but now steps up with a full solo EP of his own. His unique take on techno is exhibited from the off on 'Stanley Knife' with its scurrying synths, drunken synth loops and drums that go nowhere fast but still draw you in. '194' is awash with kinetic synth sequences and distant dub chords that bring colour and 'Life Takes Rise' rides on another inventive and alluring rhythm pattern while the warming synth work gets you lost in thought. Closer 'Diesel', meanwhile, is tough, frosty, and more techno-leaning.

Review: Fifteen years after first starting out, Munich's masterful Ilian Tape is still finding plenty of fresh new ground to explore in its niche world of scuffed-up and broken-beat techno. Review: Since emerging at the beginning of the last decade, Berlin-based Spaniard Kwartz (real name Mario Campos) has become a reliable source of dark, atmospheric, clandestine techno. He specialises in combining dense, thickset grooves with mildly creepy melodic motifs, minor-key riffs and bags of unabashed energy. All those sonic traits can be clearly heard on his latest EP, which marks Campos's first vinyl outing for two years. We're particularly enjoying the panicked urgency of 'Fast Focus' and the entrancing heaviness of 'Impulse', where weirdo electronics and echoing melodic loops catch the ear, but all four cuts are undoubtedly tried and tested peak-time treats.

Review: Electro tastemaker Konerytmi is a busy man with a high rate of output on labels like Infiltrate, Eudemonia in Germany and Russia's Electro Music Coalition, which is where he appears again now with his Astrodanssi EP. As always, this is sci-fi styled sound with clean synth lines and celestial melodies. 'Kukka' opens up with a shiny and reflective hall of synths that glisten and gleam. 'Fantomi' brings rubbery acid elasticity to deep cosmic electro and 'Astrofyysikko' is another one powered by a bulbous, busy bassline and snappy snares. Three further cuts get increasingly mystic and turbulent on the flip.

Review: GTown label head Kettama has just blown plenty of brains with his recent Booler Room set and now he's back to repeat that trick with this new EP on his own label. GTOWN004 is a radioactive EP with blistering grooves and brutalists textures at its core. The second side features the very early UK hardcore aesthetic of Aggergate Culture's '703 Ekranoplan (Ground Effect)' which will take you to a higher state, and finally Delahunt's deeply meditative bass exploration 'BM Solitaire'.

Review: Monika Kruse's Terminal M takes us on a another of her stripped back techno trips here with studio wizard Kaspar at the controls. 'Valhalla' is real drama with sweeping synth lines and cantering drums that never let up. 'Feel Alive' is darker, harder, more edgy and with eerie pads up top that have something of an old school trance tinge. 'Close Your Eyes' is then the EP highlight for us with its impassioned vocal cries and flat footed drum stomps. It's main room techno with enough emotion to work in more nuanced settings.

Review: Dutch label Daro carried a release from Can Oral's Khan alias back in 2021, and now they've tapped up the veteran techno legend for another suite of high-quality minimal techno from a true original. This isn't the kind of tepid, uninspired after party fodder you can find in most places - Oral's experience speaks through his machines and we get treated to a wayward kind of club music that bursts with personality. 'My House' is tough as hell and just as freaky, dealing in tightly clipped stabs which come on like SND making actual party music. 'In Waves' by contrast is a gloopy, bong bath of an ambient techno piece, while 'The Demonic Screen' flips the script once again with fragmented, stop-start beats working according to an unusual internal logic. 'Turkish Camp' completes the picture with a squashed and grubby transmission from the underworld, with more than enough low-end heft to keep a late night crowd locked on.

Review: Long before Karen was a universally accepted epithet for entitled middle-class white woman, there was Karenn, an uncompromising techno duo who do artful things with menacing noise. Pariah and Blawan have been on and off making music together since first launching this project in 2011 but whenever they do, it's worth hearing. This one on Voam is another case in point: 'Feeling Horizontal' is a monstrous and ghoulish stomper with twisted vocal darkness, while 'Happy Birthday' is a more lithe and bouncy cut with rubbing low ends and zippy synth texture. 'From Hunk To Husk' carries on the brutalist approach with more intense voices, bass and drums, and 'When Lutes Were A Thing' is a brain-bogging mix of sludgy sounds, spangled percussion and metallic surfaces.

Review: All hail Hypercolour, the small and independent UK label that has quietly but very assuredly gone about its business on its own terms. The label run by Alex Jones and Jamie Russell now gets to the significant milestone of 100 releases deep and over the course of all that music it has never bowed to trends or got stuck in a rut. There has been deep house, ragged techno, bassy party starters and colourful curveballs for all, and now Bulgarian synth shame KiNK steps up with a suitably solid EP to mark the occasion. It's characterful and inventive techno with banging drums and great samples. Big up to all.

The first release is a powerful statement of intent that draws together a crack team of sonic explorers who are all hell bent on blowing up the dance floor. The Droid's 'Upgrade' is a more futuristic blend of cyborg funk and Broken Joe's 'Fallen Crane' is full of spooky lines and jittery rhythms. Review: Proper early hardcore sounds from Brussels' Koma, whose 'Ity' EP released back in march of 2023 but whose vinyl edition now hits our shelves. As suggested by the nostalgic familial image on the front cover, the EP tells the implicit story of a life encoded in the cipher of rave; of Koma's earliest experiences and choicest memories magnified via ecstatic breaks propulsions and fantastical digital audio tricks. In Koma's world, piano stutterings poke through monstrous basses ('Conifurious'), while transitional stop-starts hint at bygone memories ('It's Your Track'), experienced in the dance and left there.

KG Beat is up for with a well constructed and prog-tinged track that is always on the move; always giving you the feeling that it is going somewhere big. Cosmic Soup Sound System then styes sup to twist melons a little more with 'Eddie De Boing De Boing,' another track that gives you a dancefloor rush with waves of warm synth over old school tech house drums that are perfectly clean and punchy.

Review: Kassian never hurries his release rate which means that when the Shall Not Fade and SB Jamz producer does drop new music you need to tune in. This latest comes six months after his self-released and self-thief versions 003 back in January and arrives via the esteemed K7. 'X-303' is twisted and textured techno for late night warehouses with 'Tabla' a more layered up jumble of percussion and loopy drums. 'Prelude' burrows deep on a prying lead and bulky but rubbery drum loops and 'Patterns' rounds out with an edgy vibe, clipped vocals and uneasy synths that keep you locked.

Designed for a certain breed of present-day hardcore clubber - one unafraid of the harsher side of things - the likes of 'The After Years', 'Bebhionn' and 'Gerrymandered' are all workably mixable tunes, yet come no less tinged with a madder dasein than that which those with a received, unchallenged idea of humanity can usually stomach.

Review: Leipzig based Riotvan, run by Peter Invasion and Panthera Krause, welcomes Kalexis and Paulor for this collaborative four track that mines techno's deepest depths. 'Going Through The Void' is a moody and slow motion opener that rides on an undulating bassline with plenty of ambient pads for company. 'Energy' is more edgy, a stomper with fractured vocals and wonky synths that builds a darker mood. On the flipside there is the brilliantly unhinged and unusual melodies of 'Lashes' which sounds like a marching band on acid and 'Magnetic' closes down with haunting low ends and spooky pads.
