Review: Aniara's white label number four delivers more techno goodness direct to the dance floor. The A-side features two of Arkajo's most compelling dance-floor tracks, with both offering a propulsive groove and warped and dubbed-out basslines. On the flip side, Dorisburg and Efraim Kent (who are here making their debut on Aniara) present the darker vibes of 'Data Smuggler' which rides on broken beats and has real menace in the airwaves. It complements the A-side with a more deep mood and hypnotic rhythm that will be pure dancing bait.

Richie Five Alive and Sam DFL are having a right old time of it on 'Deeper' while Nori brings some serious funk and a freaky pitched down rap without diluting the hard edge of the record and then Pete returns to round the record off with a more hypnotic roller shot through with a touch of dub techno.

A stellar cast of artists has been assembled to help out, with highlights coming from Dax J, whose "Dezine" is a surging and throbbing slab of EBM/techno fusion, Ellen Allien, whose alien-sounding "C19 Bitch" is a twisted and mind-altering delight, and robust acid-techno adventurers Obscure Shape & SHDW (the hard-as-nails, TB-303-fired insanity of "Die Veruteillen").

Review: Eric Cloutier has decided to launch a new offshoot to his consistently impressive Palinoia label. The basic idea seems to be limited edition EPs featuring tried-and-tested club cuts from like-minded machine abusers. To begin this sub-label debut in style, he offers up a killer cut from pal Donato Dozzy that's as hypnotic and mind-altering as you'd expect. Built around a rock solid kick-drum pattern, hissing cymbals and a deep bassline, "Aquatica" is sparse, unearthly and intoxicating, with trippy noises, metallic electronics and watery sounds bubbling across the sound space. Cloutier takes over on side B with "Ekpyrosis", a thrusting, muscular mixture of locked-in grooves, faintly foreboding psychedelic acid motifs and the kind of swelling chords that make your synapses snap.

Review: Earwax's Tar 21 is a punishing but dynamic techno EP that showcases the artist's mastery of the genre and the five tracks explore a range of techno subgenres, from industrial to tech house, offering a diverse and captivating listening experience. 'Behind The Grid' sets the tone with its relentless warehouse techno, characterised by heavy industrial elements and a driving beat. 'Raw Shadow' transports the listener to a science fiction landscape with its stomping rhythm and percussive intensity. Review: Earwax is back to fill your lug holes with something far more appealing than his alias suggests. His brand of techno is deeply seductive as proven by the opener here, 'Perception Units.' It is a driving, linear, traced-out cut for the dead of the night. '49 Hours' then kicks off with a more bulky and physical rhythm and 'Matrix' goes deeper into more tunneling, linear techno that is perfectly designed to hook you in. 'No Taste' is a more banging closer with unsettling synths and pummelling drums. It's a militant marcher to close a boss EP.

With a cutting, multi-varied sound - as if gazing into the bleeding edge of a new age - we're still met with the vicarious, breathtaking feeling of E.B.E.'s future techniques first evoked 23 years ago, be that via the mediums of minimal tech, downtempo or electro. Review: We'd be hard pushed to think of any labels out there right now that are doing a better job of serving up deliciously deep and detailed dub techno than Echo LTD. For this one, the in house crew takes care of a pair of sublime new sounds that take you to the ocean floor and keep you there. 'Echo From The Outer World' opens with gently echoing chords pacing about the mix over a rolling and rubbery low end with shards of light beaming down from above as if the sun has just shone through some clouds. 'Minimalism In Dub' takes things back even further with more liquid rhythms and smooth drum rotations. So good.

Review: The ever-prolific Brendon Moeller returns with a third EP for Knotweed under his Echologist alias, treading the line between glitchy minimal, propulsive techno and dubwise immersion with flair and poise. There are some powerful, deeply submerged kicks to be enjoyed on 'Activation', but they're not just deployed as standard. On 'Concentrate' they might be more prominent, but still there's a sense of confident restraint in which Moeller can create captivating energy and a full-frequency experience without resorting to obvious tactics. For those who favour something a little more stimulating and subtle from their techno experience, this EP has everything you need.

Review: Aniara's output has always been brilliantly designed for club deployment but could never really be considered as mere tools. The artists who appear on the Swedish imprint have a cultured sound and a knack for crafting maximum impact from minimal elements. Enter Mattias El Masouri who does just that with the sublime 'Time Dilation In Ultraviolet'. It's a hypnotic deep house cut with real drive that's down to the deft broken kick drum patterns, pulsing synth and heady pads that swirl above. 'Inre Dimension' is a 13-minute plus sonic daydream with paddy drums, drumming pads and perfectly airy hi-hats that anchor you in the heart and now as your mind wanders.

Review: Andreas Gehm of Cologne returns with more lo-fi and nasty acid techno for brilliant Dutch imprint Panzerkreuz and it's everything that you'd expect from this eccentric fellow. They're all sure to please in their rusty and hissing glory but it's probably "Track 3" which is out favourite where Gehm proclaims through a helium induced voice "Im a freak, you're a freak.. we're all freaks!" and if you're still reading this, he's most probably right. Highly recommended!

It comes on nice clear blue vinyl and musically unfolds in "Hi'iaka and Dysnomia, the outer moons of the trans-Neptunian dwarf planet Haumea." It is music with a deep space atmosphere hard stomping drums that take you ever further away from planet earth. Minimal arps trip you out while smeared pads add scale and a cinematic feel. Review: Anthony Georges Patrice's Ausblick label has trod a fine path over the course of its first five releases and the good work continues on its sixth outing which is a new various artists affair. It is Berlin based Ephem who kicks off with 'Dizzy' and all its bumpy beast and raw perc, then Koln's Hidden Sequence follows with 'Optical Drive' that is more stripped back and powered by warming sub bass. Anthony Georges Patrice himself then completes the hat trick with 'Easy To Love' (Tunnel Vision Mix) which over ten sublime minutes brings some more airy, double doit flavoured and has already been getting plays from Mosaic boss Steve O'Sullivan.

The label's eponymous production outfit takes care of this move into double figures with another direct to dance floor and hand-stamped 12" with two forceful bangers. 'Track 1' brings the heat with cantering drums and lashing percussion all run through with caustic synth textures. 'Track 2' is another high octane and chunky techno rocker with pent up energy and subtle hints of warehouse funk.

Review: You can always count on Clone's Repetitive Rhythm Research label to bring a proper, hard-edged strain of techno that matches brawn with brains. Next up on the label after a knockout record from Frequency is The Exaltics, tailoring their signature electro style to a blown-out 4/4 sound to incite a thousand sweatboxes. 'It Never Ends' is brilliantly jacking, with deep space synths on top, and 'Hammerheads From Outta Space' doubles down on brute-force kicks and dirtbag leads. 'Corroded From The Future' dips into dystopian acid from the depths, and 'Dumb MST Digital' caps the record off with a stripped back 303 workout for those who carry a torch for the glory days of Bunker Records.

Review: Klasse Wrecks welcomes Robbert Heynan who is best known as one-half of the Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia, an act that very much set the temple for tribal techno in the early 90s. Their vast and vital body of work stands the test of time but they went their separate ways in 1992 to explore other projects. One of them was Excor, which saw Heynan put out some lesser-known tunes. The Chief EP is a hard-to-find outing from 1996 that has been remastered here and features the two original tunes next to two new and unheard versions.
