DL-MS and VC-118A are the ones to bring the deep side of the spectrum with their gorgeous 'Tides'.

Review: Truncate is celebrated by his fellow DJs for the grand power and impact of his drums. However he shapes them, they cannot fail to arrest the attention of any dance floor. This outing on his own Truncate label is another fine example crafted alongside Dotdat. There is a trippy Detroit melodic minimalism to 'PNQ V1' that will tie your mind in knots, then 'HYD V1' layers up jacking drum loops that never resolve with edgy synth pulses. It's tense and unrelenting techno for late night experiences and to close, 'HYD V2' brings more raw and wild textures to the ever-pounding kick drums. Devastating stuff.

Review: The eighth instalment in the Ohm Series comes through with another essential cast of deep and dubby techno travellers. Finnish producer TM Shuffle links up with Tapani Rinne for the opening track, 'Latenight', continuing the partnership they commenced earlier this year on Soulful Dubs. XDB then comes through with 'Ova Dub', another masterclass from a cult hero of the deep techno scene whose quality never falters. Tim G kicks off the B side with 'B+' before Dubrovnik completes the set with 'Metropolis', both cuts maintaining the immersive mood readily associated with the Ohm Series while bringing each artist's individual quirks to the forefront.

Stelios Vassiloudis creates a heavy stomp around 'Live In Fear' without losing the delicacy which has defined the OHM Series to date. Semitone Cycles completes the set with 'Elusive', an elegant tripper with one eye on the wooziest end of the after hours.

Review: Well, we must admit that we never foresaw Luke Slater and Dubfire coming together on the same 12". Both enjoy lofty statuses in the tech world but at very different ends of the spectrum - Slater the always underground head who keeps it futuristic and fresh, Dubfire someone happy to play to vast crowds in the more commercial side of the scene. But their work here is faultless. 'The Dissent' is a psychedelic roller for the dead of the night. 'The Sonic Assassin' plunges you deep into the cosmos with its pulsing synths, bass and bells, and 'The Drama' is a meaningful and widescreen cut permitted by fantastic synth designs.

Review: Skatebard's Digitalo Enterprises has been keeping it real since the mid 00s, never failing to come through with what we like to call 'the truth'. Whether it's disco, house or even techno on the menu, the quirky Norwegian producer-DJ has got a touch of class across everything he does, and inviting fellow Norwegian DJ Sotofett to the catalogue is pure evidence of that. The head honcho is up first, rolling across the wax plate with 2 cuts: the first, "Stalheim-Mix" is a pacey, bass-heavy techno roller with a supremely progressive tone of voice, whereas "Tristulf" is made for pure meditation thanks to its slow, warm flow of Balearics. On the flip, DJ SO-PHAT adds to the ambient glow thanks to the placid waters of "Digitalo-Mix", a sparkling slice of synth experimentation that'll have the new age retroists gleaming with joy. Bloody lovely, we might say!

This second release from the French crew is another thrilling take on hard techno and gabba as Sina XX links up with different artists across four cuts. First, it is with Dance Divine for the flat-footed menace and lashing synths of 'Dancefloor Is Hot' then Metaraph joins for 'Color Of People,' a cut that burrows deep on an oversized bassline and edgy string stabs unsettle the mood. Sina XX & Lacchesi's 'Goth It' is a minimal excursion on tightly wrapped drums and bass that are full of pent-up tension then last of all is the most brain-frying and textural rave of the lot as Enahm and Lessss join in for 'Le Demon.'

Review: Southside has very much set out its stall early on here - it's a Dutch label that wants to bring high-impact techno to DJs, dancers and dancefloors everywhere. This third transmission is another various artists offering with none other than enduring techno legend Dave The Drummer stepping up with Tiago Santo to open proceedings. Their 'Cosmic energy' is machine-driven techno with grinding bass. Marcio M's 'Broken' is more raucous and textured in its rusty metal drum loops and Acid Chochi keeps it nice and speedy and trippy with his aptly named 'Psychedelic Drug.' Last but not least, Marcio M. & Tiago Santos convene for the ever rising and suspenseful 'Astral Dimension.'

Tensal's 'Metaverse' is edgy and unsettling with its nerve stabs, fractured vocals and unrelenting kick drum power then Asstnt's 'La Linea' closes out with 90s white knuckle techno and filthy guitar riffs in amongst the action.

DMA then bangs the box with cosmic synths and hints of 90s post-rave, Pilot System cruise on a chunky bit of bass-driven house and Frozilla & TJ go deep on far-sighted chords and bubbly bass. This is unpretentious, functional but fun house music from a small but already well-formed label.

Chelina Manuhutu's 'Amsterdam Rave' is a more rock solid warehouse roller and Anna Reusch runs with that vibe on her booming, all-consuming techno kicker 'Let Me Take You There'. There is then some flashy acid lines from DJ Dee on her 'Freaking Out'. A fine, all-female fronted EP from Drumcode.

After that one comes the manic and high tempo electro-shocks of 'Not Unique' with snappy snares and darkened vocals. Review: Given that copies of the original 7" release flew off the shelves in record time, it's heartening to see that Classic has decided to give Sophie Lloyd's brilliant "Calling Out" a proper 12" release. Her fantastic original version - a jaunty, floor-friendly gospel treat that sits somewhere between house and disco - is this time accompanied by two fresh rubs from Robert and Lyric Hood's Floorplan project. Naturally, both mixes move further towards sing-along gospel house territory with the fantastic Revival Mix - all crunchy Chicago drums, wild organs, jaunty pianos and relentless chorus - hitting home particularly hard. It's very rare that we describe an EP as being "flawless", but this is as close to perfection as you'll find.

Dan Piu's '3_HP_D' is a tech house exploration with wispy sci-fi leads and a playful rhythm then Luis Malon & Seb G combine for the turbo-charged tech of '4_HP_D.' The legendary Freddy Fresh closes down with a high-speed sound on '5_HP_D.' Says the label, "Hyperdrive is dedicated to preserving the rich history of electronic music," and on this evidence, it will do so expertly.
