Review: Berlin-based DJ, producer and live-act Oliver Koletzki steps up to his own label Still Vor Talent with a tenth studio album. Its title Trip to Sanity is a reference to the classic German children's story 'Tabaluga' about a little dragon and is said to reflect the artist's own journey over the last 18 years in the scene. It's one riddled with a child-like curiosity for new sounds and it comes with plenty of collaborations as has always been the way with Oliver. Review: DDS presents Shinichi Atobe's new effort titled Love Of Plastic, featuring the enigmatic Japanese producer's distinct style of dub-infused house and deep, textured techno. Review: Detroit house hero Kyle Hall returns with his biggest project in some time in the form of Transmissions, a new double album on his own well-regarded Forget The Clock. All six tracks have enigmatic, functional titles and the music is as idiosyncratic as ever. Each one veers more towards techno than is Hall's usual style, with pulsating synth lines and tight, dusty drum tracks making for stripped-to-the-bones grooves. Later on, things grow ever more abstract with twisted acid lines screwing their way through the increasingly ragged and roughshod drums. These are perfectly imperfect jams from a master of the form.

Review: German artist Damiano Von Erckert has matured into a fine producer with a unique sound. He's dropped it on his own label, Aus Music and now comes through with a full-length on Live At Robert Johnson. As always it is a cross-genre mix with a dusty vibe and big heart. '3PIANOS' kicks off with expressive vocal samples and florid flutes ready for a summer dance, while a Pepe Braddock mix brings some signature weirdness from the Frenchman. Further tunes bring in tech, electro and hints of techno but always with that rough and ready vibe that brings the good times.

Review: WORKSHOP 32 has been a long time coming - not least as this is Kassem Mosse's first solo outing on Workshop since 2014. And what a way to return, presenting a full-length album that reflects the evolution of the artist while not denying any of the ideas and sounds and styles that first made us fall in love with him all those moons ago. A broad and varied celebration of off-centre electronic music that has as much right to be on the dancefloor as it does on a movie soundtrack. So what does that sound like? Well, in the case of 'Track 2', it's a skeletal toybox tech workout, while 'Track 6' takes us into deep and surrealist house music. Elsewhere, ''Track 7' explodes into a carnival of percussion and bleep, 'Track 4' offers lunging curveball fours, bassline seeming to bore holes in the very ground you're stomping on. Always pared back, but never truly minimal, it's one of 2023's earliest classics.

Review: Since the early noughts, York-based producer Martin Wheeler has had a somewhat prolific output, exploring various genres. Heading up the Iwari label, Wheeler's career defining album as Vector Lovers was signed by British label Soma in 2005 titled Capsule for One which led to the first great revival of 90s IDM. This reissue on Barcelona's Lapsus imprint features all the tracks from the original release (Wheeler actually remixed each and every song for this release) plus two previously unreleased tracks. Traversing such styles as electro, techno, minimal and ambient, this extra special release comes in a double marbled vinyl and a limited edition insert print, featuring artwork redesigned by Josep Basora.

Review: Anyone with an ear to the underground will be familiar with the name Kenny Hawkes. The late great house artists had a great influence on the scene and that legacy lives on through close friends such as Classic Music Company boss Luke Solomon, with whom he ran the legendary Wednesday night party Space from 1995-2002. Here Luke has linked up with Space regulars Jonny Rock and Leon Oakey to curate a loveling selected mix of tunes that pay tribute to Hawkes. Space Part 1 is a must for house fans - there is steamy deep stuff from Hawkes himself, post-rave dreamscape material from Cine City, punchy tech house done right and booming, and loopy grooves for dancefloor hypnosis. Review: Distrikt Paris head honcho Bassam is back with a superb double album that defines his own unique take on the underground. It is genre-defying and widescreen in its cope as it flows freely from sound to sound. 'Electronic Rhapsody' is a superb symphony of lush synth design and airy breakbeats that keep you suspended in space. 'Apres Faut Aimer La Fete' brings twisted acid to slick tech house beats and 'Sos Marrakech' brings a more retro synth sound with crashing hits and stiff, angular rhythms. Elsewhere are more poppy sounding melodies and synths on 'Panorama Vision' and a turbocharged future tech cut 'LAP Memory' (40ine mix) is another late nightlight.

Review: This double 12" compilation between Brazilian duo Stekke and producer and DJ Max Underson is a perfect marriage between the emotional aesthetic background of Underson's previous works and the precise floor-filling formula that Stekke has devised. The minimal composition is at the crossroads between deep, acid and tech house, with the wet basslines of 'The Messenger' being paired with ritualistic sub-bass lines culminating in house heaven. A real highlight on this release is side 4's 'Guidance', a smooth, grooving track that goes to show that house tracks don't always have to be cramped to the brim. The negative space used in these tracks, and the way it's used, is an art. Not to turn a blind eye to the two unique remixes on the compilation either, which take tracks to new heights thanks to the abstract re-imaginings by XDB and Melchior Productions Ltd. Universal Law is a schooling in the ways of minimal house, take notes.

Review: Herck is back with a seance album that has had fans on tenterhooks in anticipation. It's another masterclass in minimal and tech sounds that get weird and abstract but never at the expense of soul or groove. This double 12" comes with super artwork as well as great tunes. The first sets the tone with silky synthetic sounds and icy, stripped-back rhythms. From there the sound sources range from water droplets to filtered vocals, cosmic waves to industrial futurism. It is an utterly compelling trip for mind, body and soul.

He then became a huge draw at Ibiza's premium VIP clubs and appeared in Grand Theft Auto. This album takes him to major label Sony and features Hollywood names like Jamie Foxx. It is melodic, accessible house from one of electronic music's most famous names.

Review: Yoni is the rather accomplished pair of Thomas Melchior and Tim Hutton and they roasted this cult classic album of what was then called intelligent dance music back in 1994. It was a CD-only release back then but now gets a proper pressing across three slabs of wax It is much more percussive, raw and textural than anything you would associate the smooth minimalist Melchior these days but it perfectly fits in with the current trend for mixing up several sound worlds at once. There are breaks, cosmic electro, mad techno and even hints of house along the course of the eight expertly designed tracks.

Review: San Fran's unstoppable and enduring tech house craftsman John Tejada is also super reliable. His sound is well established, but he always does enough with each new release to embellish it a little further. Returning now to his home label of Kompakt, he refines his palette to silky melodies, fuzzy pads and crisp beats that are superbly pleasing for both your ears and your heels. 'Sheltered' is a particularly classy cut of deft tech minimalism, 'Spectral Progressions' expires ambient broken beats with lush pad work and 'Panacea' picks up the pace in scintillant fashion. This might be his best work in years.

Review: Norm Talley returns to his Upstairs Asylum label alongside fellow US house pioneer Delano Smith for Straight Up No Chaser, an eight-track opus featuring four solo cuts each. Talley's gritty, dubbed-out, low-rolling house style is present and correct throughout with the loopy chords of 'Blak Bottom' getting things going, 'The Flip' getting more cavernous and aqueous and 'ISO Vision' leaning into dub techno. Review: The inimitable Jamal Moss comes forth with his second offering for Madrid's Apnea records. 'The Moon Dance' unfurls over 11 tracks- in turns pensive, elegiac, and slammin'. Between the sedate expanse of opener 'When The Earths Shadow Falls On The Moon' and the final cymbal strokes of gauche, machine funk closer 'Mawu', Moss lifts us on yet another Afrofuturist space flight of fancy, passing through superclusters of deep house, tactile techno and stroboscopic piano jams along the way.

Review: The second instalment of Clayton's retrospective series, this double vinyl is a remastering of unreleased and hidden gems from the American programmer-cum-producer. Featuring staples in the San Franciscan's discography such as 'Box Selection' and 'W-Shape', which sees an exclusive remix in 'W-Shape revisited'. The result is a futuristic techno-house marvel, with it's minimal (occasionally ambient) tone, the composition is analytical in its construction. Each beat feels perfectly placed as dictated by a formula, a chemical blend of glitch, techno, and ambient house. This record is a must for fans of the 90s techno scene, especially in Detroit where you can hear the influences that those artists had on these tracks.

Review: SIT, short for Sideways Invisibility Theory, is the collaborative project of Vlad Caia and Cristi Cons. As two scene leaders of the Romanian minimal phenomenon, both artists have proven over many years to have a unique vision for creativity and fresh approaches in what can be a homogenised scene. Of their many achievements, on their Amphia label as much as elsewhere, this album on Sushitech stands as one of their finest moments. As with all the best Romanian minimal, it's also still hotly in demand, making it a welcome addition to Sushitech's 15th anniversary pressing marathon. From dub tech laced rollers to gossamer-light trippers, this is the classiest end of the minimal tech house game from two artists with the vision to push things a little bit further.

Review: Detroit legend Eddie 'Flashin' Fowlkes has had a truly massive month with a couple of releases on his esteemed Detroit Wax imprint (which he runs with Niko Marks) and this week he kickstarts his City Boy imprint back into action. This is its first release in 11 years, presenting part one of the Knucklehead Series featuring a fine selection of moods and grooves. Next to investigate that area is Amsterdam-based duo Weval aka Harm Coolen and Merijn Scholte Albers. Their new album finds them taking an expansive trip into high energy sounds that are tinged with nostalgia, rich in happy memories and laden with euphoric emotions that will take the dancefloor to a higher place. Part of that energy comes from tapping into the music of their collective youth and their various inspirations which lend this its widescreen sonic palette. Review: Dragutesku's deft take on minimal is a mix of the abstract and the surreal if this EP is much to go on. 'Ecliptic' comes first as a vocal mix and is all backlit synth glows, fizzing synths and distant, heart-aching hooks with thumping drum loops front and centre. It is pure passion but also comes as a dub for more late night sets. On the flip is a Traumer mix that rewires the track into a rickety and loopy rhythm fleshed out with smeared pads and last of all is 'Jazzofil', a more downbeat and experimental cut full of weird and wonderful sound sources.

Review: The Other Side label clocks up its 10th release here with Dunfound serving up the two tripped out minimal tech originals and Rhadoo offering a pair of his mighty fine remixes. Opener 'Flying Fish Song' is all about wonky synths and chattering durms and perc. The sound is raw and urgent and constantly on the twist and turn. The second original is a 12-minute plus journey through the darkest recesses of your mind. Rhadoo then ups the ante with his first remix which is all bristling beats and prickly percussion. The second is a more sludgy dub full of freaky designs and weird FX.
