Review: In many ways it's hard to get a fix on U2's 90s period. It's as though they folded time between their breakthrough 80s albums and the comfortable middle age period post the turn of the millennium. However, Zooropa remains a wildly exciting album which saw Bono and his buddies weren't afraid to mess with the formula and embrace what was happening outside of their mainstream rock bubble. There are some surprising risks taken and yet their gargantuan song craft remains undiminished. On this 30th anniversary pressing there's also some bonus remixes tucked onto side four, bringing Oakenfold's equally supersized Perfecto sound into the mix.

Review: The Who's 50th Anniversary edition of Who's Next is being released in multiple formats and chief among them is this relatively short and succinct 4xLP version. Though four sides of vinyl isn't usually thought to be "short", this is a minimal incarnation of the reissued album, compared to the juggernaut CD and Blu-Ray box set which contains over 155 original audio tracks on it. This version is as comparatively minimal and monolithic as the 2001: A Space Odyssey monolith referenced on its front cover, though it's not still without its nice extra-album bonuses, 'Pinball Wizard' and 'Naked Eye' included.

Review: It would be easy to think of Whitney as the first album from one of R&B's all-time greatest icons, but in fact Whitney Houston released a self-titled album just two years earlier in 1985. Either way, it was with this light beam of pop perfection that Houston truly cemented her reputation as a global superstar, and it's not hard to understand why. The hits just spill out of this record, from 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) and 'Love Will Save The Day' to 'So Emotional' and 'For The Love Of You'. The songwriting is stellar, but of course it's Houston's impassioned, full-bodied vocal which makes these the perennial hits they are - it's an all-time classic, need we say more?

Review: Voices From The Lake is the pairing of Italian techno craftsmen and sound sculptors Donato Dozzy and Neel. They came together to do a live show at the famed Labyrinth festival in Japan and that's what gave rise to this new now seminal album. It's a deeply meditative and dubbed-out world of delicate synths and rolling drums that change only slightly and slowly but manage to keep you utterly locked in for the duration. It's pure techno that has been remastered for this new edition across eight sides of wax. An absolute modern classic for sure.

As a solo artist, he deals in soulful, Latin-tinged and musical house sounds that are lavish in arrangement and often made with real instrumentals. Review: For those who go gaga for (originally) ultra-limited presses, we've got you. In 1974, Hiroshi Tanaka and Yoichi Fuwa, the self-proclaimed heirs of the Beatles, crammed into a 75 square-foot room and recorded over 50 songs, all without names. Taking after the furtive experimentalism of the Fab Four's White Album, the duo laid down the Untitled White Album as an ever-more experimental companion piece (or psychotic pop-culture reaction), mimicking the Beatles' tonal inflections while adding sprinklings of madness that the former group daren't've. Widely sought-after but rarely found, this reissue from LITA comes as a second LP featuring 16 tracks that heretofore were unknown, and are now released for the first time.
