Notes: Eowave's new analogue duophonic ribbon synthesizer.

Eowave are rethinking instruments from the past with smart sensor technology. The result is a new innovative instrument with real analogue oscillators, a duophonic ribbon, 100% compatible with the computer environment with a USB I/O, MIDI I/O and 4 CV out.

Sensor technology now enables to recreate controls like ribbons with a new accuracy and a new duophonic process. The ribbon enables to play glissando like on a Theremin, les Ondes Martenots or a Trautonium. The addition of 1 x oscillator takes all its dimension with the new duophonic ribbon which extends the instrument sonorities spectral to play simple chords, but also enables numberless modulations, e.g. FM of one oscillator on the second one.

The Persephone markII has 2 x analogue oscillators with a waveform from triangle to saw, going from 1Hz to more than 20000Hz. An analogue resonant 12dB low-pass filter inspired from the filters from the 70s-80s enables to shape the sound. With its entire analogue audio signal path, the Persephone markII can generate notes with a continuous variable range up to 10 x octaves to create deep and resonant cello tones on the lowest notes to ultrasonic frequencies on the highest pitches. An optical modulation key will transmit the slightest vibration for expressive modulations.

16 x routing presets enable to select different routing architectures between the sound parameters and the 7 controls available (ribbon pressure, ribbon position1 & 2, key, pedals 1 & 2, LFO) for 8 destinations (lo pitch, hi pitch, filter, VCA lo, VCA hi, filter mod1, filter mod2 and VCA). 8 x presets are fixed and 8 are editable users presets configurable thru a free software. Users routing presets will be stored in the Persephone2 internal memory. This new section significantly increases the instrument control and modulation possibilities.

The A/D conversion is made with Eowave ESS DSP. This process assures a 12 bits resolution (4096 values) conversion for an accurate musical gesture. It's 100% MIDI compatible and uses USB full speed 12 MB/s. This makes the Persephone2 compatible with all MIDI compatible softwares whilst the latency is reduced at less than 1.5ms.

With a complete I/O section featuring 4 x CV outputs, 2 x pedals inputs, MIDI in & out, audio out, USB (MIDI), the Persephone markII can be turned into a powerful and unique controller to control most of your analogue or digital synths.

Notes: The Shuttle System is a versatile modular setup, capable of generating classical as well as experimental sounds. It comes with a cover and adhesive strip for protecting the system from dust and to carry it around.

The synthesiser is composed of two Buchla style oscillators plus Waveshaper, two function generators, which can be used as envelopes, LFOs or additional VCOs, two filters respectively low pass gates with eight modes of operation and an effects processor.

Furthermore, a mono/stereo mixer with inserts and ducking compressor, utility circuits and a tune section are included. To control all those components, the instrument features an extensively equipped MIDI CV interface. Consequently, the Shuttle System is able to create an extremely wide range of high quality sounds.

Notes: The WCS-1 is a MIDI synthesizer module that utilizes a digital oscillator followed by all discrete analog circuits in order to produce unusual and 'fat' sounds.The exclusive wave addition resource together witha dual input.

A powerful VCF and a lightning fast VCA makes for powerful sound generation capabilities- an ideal instrument for electronic music perfection.

To make use of the WCS-1, you need a MIDI controller keyboard or anthing else with a MIDI OUT port e.g. MIDI pad controllers, bass pedals, or a computer with a MIDI connection.

The WCS-1 has a 1/4" (P-10) mono jack on the back panel in order to be connected to a sound mixer, computer audio interface, or directly to an amplifier.

Notes: The EML-300 was released as a controller or an expansion for the EML-200. It carries an aditional oscillator and have very interesting features that vastly expands the sound creation and controlling of the model 200. Although the original EML-300 has not been designed as a stand-alone instrument, it can do a pretty good job in several situations..
The good news is that our EMW-300 received an extra strenght that allows it to be a more atractive machine in many cases, thats because we implemented an automatic trigger to the Voltage Generator that turns this module on a 16-steps analog sequencer.

Notes: The EML-200 recreation is an old idea that has been in the works for 12 years, and several approaches and circuits have been tested during this time. The first attempt was to create a similar synth that resembles the 200 but with several different modules and circuits.

In 2011, with the growth of the EMW initiative and a few years without focusing on the project, it was embraced again, but now with no more surprises.

The raw and powerful vibration that represents the heart and the root of the analog sound, particualrly from the EML-200 and EML-300, was a key inspiration when creating the EMW-200 and EMW-300.

- twin*: 2x6 key mode, the parameters are the same for both sides
- split*: 2x6 key mode, but with separate parameters for both sides (e. g.: you can have an arpeggiator on one side, but a basic keyboard controller on the other side)

Notes: SOLAR 42 is a unique experimental electro-music instrument, an analogue microtonal ambient drone machine. It will inspire you to find a new and spontaneous approach to composing music. It gives you the ability to create a multi-layered, massive sound. The instrument is oriented for live performances, creating film soundtracks, theatre soundtracks, atmospheric sounds, microtonal and background music. It is an improved version of the older SOLAR 50 model. The instrument was inspired by early electronic musical instruments of the 1920s and 1950s, notably Leo Theremin's "Harmonium" instrument, as well as science fiction film soundtracks.

Solar 42 does not look like a classic synthesiser, which may confuse the user as it looks very complicated. In fact, it is easy to use. It has 8 voices as separate blocks, a mixer with pan and double effector, and various CV blocks.

Notes: The idea of the Polivoks Mini analog synthesiser came into mind in 1990, as the junior version of its older brother - the well known Polivoks full synth. The aim was to develop a simpler and lighter device that has less components, offers the same broad capabilities, and removes possible flows of the Polivoks full synth. As a result of this research, a new minimalistic schematic appeared. It has fewer controls that are compensated by greater functionality. For example, in the Modulator section the Form switch has been replaced by the controller with triangular oscillation in the middle position and sawtooth shape oscillation smoothly falling in the extreme positions.

The controller for the envelope filter input is set to zero in the middle position and its value increases by turning the knob clockwise, while turning the knob counter-clockwise increases inverse voltage of the envelope generator. The main synthesizer sections, such as generator, famous Polivoks filter and multimode envelope generator, are essentially the same as the Polivoks, and have this unique sound. In addition, the main generator of the Polivoks Mini doesn't require any thermal stabilization or adjustment.

In general, the simplified schematic delivers the sound appreciated by a wide range of musicians with minimal means but new capabilities. The Polivoks Mini is a keyboardless version with integrated USB and MIDI interfaces. The overall design of the Polivoks Mini is made in collaboration with Ms. Olympiada Kuzmina, Polivoks full synth concept designer.

Notes: The new basic system 3 from Doepfer is a return to Dieter Doepfer's original vision of analogue modular synthesis. Modules can be connected via front panel audio and CV connectors and used in infinite combinations. The Basic System 3 is an easily accessible and well-structured system that can be used by enthusiasts and beginners alike. It can be used as a base for exploring sound synthesis and electronic sounds, or as a supplement to delve deeper into different types of synthesis. For example, it is possible to create 4-part paraphonic patches or create complex sounds using the ring modulator. Percussion and drum sounds can also be created in a variety of ways alongside the classic synth sounds. The system's two filters can also be set to self-resonance to provide additional sound sources. The Waveshaper can be used to modify simple sounds and change their overall timbre. As each user's personal requirements are different, blank panels are installed that can be replaced with modules. This means there is no need to buy a new cabinet.

Notes: Literally the size of a business card (if a little bit thicker), one of the smallest synths on the market. Simple design with a surprisingly punchy sound, plus CV and gate inputs for control.

Supplier's Notes:
The Business Card Synthesizer is a tiny synth that can be connected to a Business Card Sequencer, other synth gear, or played by itself.

Headphones can be connected directly to the output of the synth, and there are plenty of knobs to play with, so you can easily make noises anywhere. Great for learning about synthesizers!

S&H Button: Enables Sample & Hold, which disables the external CV IN jack and uses LFO1 and LFO2 to determine oscillator pitch. LFO1 sets the sample rate (SHAPE is ignored for this), and LFO2 is the wave that gets sampled.

GATE Button: Manually turns on the gate so sound comes out of the synth. This control is momentary, but you can latch it on by tapping the S&H button while holding the GATE button down.

COARSE TUNE: Adjusts the pitch of the oscillator up or down in large increments

FINE TUNE: Adjusts the pitch of the oscillator up or down in fine increments

SHAPE: Changes the shape of the wave produced by the main oscillator (VCO). Turning this control fully CW gives you a triangle wave. Start turning it CCW takes you through sawtooth/ramp, then at about the 12:00 position you get a square wave. Continue turning it CCW and you get several higher duty cycle square waves

GLIDE: Adjusts the rate at which the pitch of the VCO takes to go between pitches (whether changed by the COARSE TUNE knob or CV IN). Fully CCW causes the pitch to react almost instantly, while fully CW makes it take its sweet time.

LFO 1 / LFO 2 SHAPE: Changes the shape of the waves produced by the low-frequency oscillators (LFOs). The shapes are similar to those of the VCO, except that the LFOs have sawtooth/ramp waves that go both up and down (since you can actually hear the difference at LFO rates).

LFO 1 / LFO 2 RATE: Controls how fast the LFOs go.

LFO -> VCO: Routes the two LFOs to control the pitch of the main oscillator. The 12:00 position is basically "off", and the LFOs have no effect on pitch. Start turning the control CCW and LFO1 starts changing the pitch of the VCO. Maximum effect is at about 10:00. Continuing to turn the control starts to bring in LFO2 as well. All the way CCW gives you full effect from both LFO1 and LFO2.

Turning the control CW from 12:00 does essentially the same thing, but brings in LFO2 first, then LFO1.

This might seem like kind of a weird control, but it gives you quite a bit of routing flexibility with one knob. You can have no pitch modulation, LFO1, LFO2, LFO1 with a little LFO2, or LFO2 with a little LFO1.

LFO -> VCA: Routes the two LFOs to control the amplitude of the oscillator. (See LFO -> VCO control description above for more information about how the control works.)

ATTACK: Controls how fast the audio amplitude fades in when the gate is triggered. CCW is fast and CW is slow.

DECAY: Controls how fast the audio amplitude fades out when the gate is released. CCW is fast and CW is slow.

VOLUME: Controls the overall volume of the signal coming from AUDIO OUT.

FILTER: Changes the cutoff frequency of an analog low-pass filter. Turn the knob fully CW and all frequencies (that you can hear) are let through. Start turning it CCW and the high frequencies start getting cut off, until the sound becomes muddy / muffled. Use in conjunction with the SHAPE control to get the tonal quality you are looking for.

Connections:
CV IN: Accepts a 1 volt/octave control voltage to control the pitch of the oscillator. It responds from about 0-5V, but voltages outside of this range won't cause damage. The CV input is quantized, so only valid (western scale) notes are played. This input is ignored when Sample & Hold is enabled.
GATE IN: A voltage greater than about 2.5V will turn on the gate and allow audio to come out the output of the synth.
AUDIO OUT: Connect to an amplifier or another synth. The jack has both the tip and ring connected, so you can even use stereo headphones and hear sound from both ears.
Power: Connect 7.5-15VDC to this 3.5mm TS jack to power the synthesizer. The tip is positive (don't worry, there's a protection diode in case you get it reversed). You can get power from a 9V battery, AC adapter, or you may even be able to find an output on your modular synthesizer that can provide enough current.
