Putting together a complete Eurorack system from scratch can be quite a daunting prospect, so the pain has been taken out of it for you. Trying to choose the best mix of modules for maximum versatility and arranging them so that there is no unused space is often just the start of the process. We also need to find the power consumption of each module, and then calculate total power draw per rail for the chosen case to ensure the PSU can provide sufficient power without being overloaded. There is also the problem of having audible noise on the power rails from a noisy power supply, which can range from barely noticeable to unacceptable. On top of that, there is also the time it takes to put it all together, then fully testing everything to make sure it is all working as it should.

9U Full system

Building on the 6U system, this case offers 3 rows (9U), adding an extra VCO, VCF, VCA, and even more modulation. This system also features a complete MiniMod voice, but with enough modules to add an additional, distinctly different voice to play along side it. It can do everything the 6U system can do, but with the Wave Swarm's dual waveform animators, wave-folding diode filter, and 'clockable' multi-waveform, voltage-controlled LFO, this system offers a huge increase in capability. Such configurations might include:

A 2-voice polysynth, with each voice featuring 2-VCOs, 2 envelopes, and their own matching waveform animator/multiplier (Wave Swarm), LFO, VCF and VCA.

Two huge sounding 2-VCO monosynths, each with distinctly different characteristics and voice architecture. One serving as a lead synth, the other controlled by a sequencer with syncopated filter modulation (Tap Tempo VC-LFO).

One ridiculously huge sounding, 4 VCO and 2 sub-octave monosynth! Stored Program Sound Source Model 208C

The sound source of the Music Easel is the 208C, which includes a complex oscillator and a modulation oscillator (which can also serve as another voice), each with independent switchable waveforms, as well as a noise generator, allowing for rich and intricate sound design. The 208C also features a five-stage sequencer, envelope generator, pulser and modulation source - with switchable triggers - allowing for complex patterns and evolving textures. The dual low pass gate provides dynamic control over the tone and amplitude of the sound, as well as natural-sounding decay and sustain. The 208C has a number of modulation sources, including a random voltage generator, the envelope generator, modulation oscillator, and an envelope detector. These sources can be used to modulate various parameters via the extensive patchfield - creating movement, texture, and complexity. The 208C also includes a mixer section with spring reverb.

Touch Activated Voltage Source Model 218e (v3)

The first design appeared in the 1973 release of the Buchla Music Easel and named for the spacecraft that delivered astronauts to the moon. Providing the familiar piano key layout for this early mobile music machine, the additional controls and capabilities were an interface for exploring uncharted musical territory. With the new version 3, it's been elevated with a new foundation of stable, modern electronics with incredible sensitivity and accuracy - the lightest touch will produce triggers and control voltages. The adjustable sensor has the dynamic range and durability to handle your playing. The new texture not only improves the sensing, but provides a satisfying tactile experience. As always, pressure is an expressive output, adding an extra dimension to the control. MIDI outputs velocity and polyphony, as well as channel pressure, making the 218e a uniquely expressive controller. The 218e includes portamento and an arpeggiator, which can be driven by external inputs and are allowed to interact with the automated notes to make patterns more complex. Additional controls allow you to blend different patterns and randomness to easily change from the expected to the surprising. The classic preset voltage knobs offer several possible ways to shift your sounds into new territory. Not only can the knobs be used for quick access to voltages for your patch, they can control arpeggiation modes and octave shifting. Pads output pulses for additional control. The 218e also gives you a unique interface to playing your existing MIDI gear and soft synths. Each touch outputs note name, channel pressure, and velocity for every note, along with sustain controls from a pedal. Polyphonic MIDI mode lets you play chords. The touchstrip can act as a pitch bend control, or as a mod wheel for additional expressive control. Electric Music Box Input/Output (EMBIO)

Maintaining the spirit, sound, and process from the original, the new Music Easel adds a variety of new features. Buchla's latest renditions of the Stored Program Sound Source and Touch Activated Voltage Source are tied together with the Electric Music Box Input/Output (EMBIO) module. This of course provides MIDI out (mini jack and USB) and CV out from the 218, MIDI in to the 208, and the audio out from the 208C. Additional creative control comes from the Audio Mixer, for integration with other Buchla modules and systems, and the CV conditioners and controls. The slew control can turn your sequencer into a wavy modulator, or soften up a square LFO. The attenuator and crossfader gives you the opportunity to find new levels and combinations of voltages from existing ones. The pulse converter offers new rhythms to trigger. And a simple LFO provides another valuable modulator when you just can't quite let yourself flip that Mod Osc switch from "high" to "low."

More than a half-century since its invention, Minimoog Model D is back in production at the Moog factory in Asheville, North Carolina. An exceptional sonic tool and one of the most beloved and iconic synthesizers ever designed, it returns to the hands of synthesists of all kinds and serves as inspiration for the next generation of electronic musicians.

The three-oscillator, monophonic, analog synthesizer is securely housed in a locally sourced Appalachian cherry cabinet and hand-finished aluminum chassis. Sounding as vibrant and deep as ever, its legendary low-pass ladder filter, powerful oscillators, and rich saturating mixer retain the exact component placement and through-hole design of a 1970s-era Minimoog Model D.

While no changes have been made to the original sound engine or audio signal path, the 2022 Minimoog Model D includes a series of popular functional modifications that expand this legendary instrument's sonic capabilities. The filter can also be modulated by the dedicated ADSR envelope, LFO, velocity, and aftertouch (MPE and Polyphonic Aftertouch) allowing for incredibly expressive performance and programming.

XERXES features 6 LFO waveforms: Sine, triangle, saw, ramp, square, and random, plus a dedicated delay control to fade the LFO to the full amount set by the depth knob. Two LFOs are selectable with an A/B switch, each of which can be used to control multiple parameters set by the button switches to control oscillator tuning (A/B/Both) filter cutoff, and amplifier levels (VCF/VCA/Both.) It is a next level of expression based on a traditional keybed, which keeps all playing capabilities of a musician, and then extends it with an additional dimension of control and creativity.

Based on an 8 voice analogue dual-filter architecture, the Quantum has been opened up for up to 16 voices of polyphony in any combination of using digital dual multi-mode filters with the 8 analogue ones. Moreover the combination of analogue with digital filter opens up new sonic possibilities of what Waldorf Music stands for since its beginning: Hybrid digital and analogue synthesis. A new set of allocation modes gives the musician an easy control.

59 GB sampling storage

Another cornerstone of "The Quantum Mark 2" is its increased internal sampling storage from a few GB to 59 GB. Variable wave shaping of its analog oscillators is a feature unique to KIJIMI's synthesizer design. Rather than selecting a single waveform KIJIMI offers a range of waveforms from Triangle through Saw to Pulse waves, passing smoothly through every shape in between. Using modulation sources to control the oscillator waveform brings a new dimension to the sound sculpting process. Each oscillator can be modulated independently, detuned in semitone intervals and synced to each other, VCO2 can even be used to FM VCO and filter, bringing rich harmonic content to the initial tone.

KIJIMI's SSI2144-based lowpass filter is an updated version of a legendary design found in some of the most powerful analog synthesizers throughout history. Apart from being a gorgeous, rich lowpass filter for typical duties, a powerful feature found in the KIJIMI is the ability to FM the filter via VCO2, resulting in sounds ranging from atonal clangorous FX to aggressive vocal-sounding formants. The filter cutoff and resonance can be independently modulated, providing a filter section, which is far more complex than most analogue polyphonic synthesizers.

KIJIMI's two envelopes are set up in typical ADSR mode by default, but a CYCLE button can be switched on to enter a cycling trapezoidal mode reminiscent of the function generator found in the EMS Synthi. In this mode, the 4 parameters are instead used to control Rise, Time On, Fall, and Time Off, resulting in a uniquely controllable cyclic function. Each envelope also features 3 switchable speed modes ranging from fast, medium, or slow.

By default, KIJIMI features two powerful LFOs - Each with many selectable waveforms, rate, and a dedicated A/D envelope for modulating its rate on each new trigger. This means that each LFO can have its speed modulated on each new note independently of any other modulators across the synthesizer.

The modulation matrix in KIJIMI is what makes this instrument truly special: 8 destinations for each LFO, and 4 destinations for ADSR2, each with its own button to switch between Unipolar (+/-) or Bipolar modulation. Furthermore, the new firmware introduces the ability to assign different LFO settings (rate, waveform, EG and depth) to EACH individual destination. Below the Modulation Matrix are the performance modulators: Velocity and MPE- based polyphonic aftertouch which can be routed to 6 simultaneous destinations, each with its own bipolar level setting. With each size of system, AJH Synth have selected the best combination of modules to give maximum versatility - of course the full configuration has been fully tested and designed for maximum productivity and reliability so that you can concentrate on the most important part of using any modular system - making music!

Putting together a complete Eurorack system from scratch can be quite a daunting prospect, so AJH Synth have taken the pain out of it for you. Trying to choose the best mix of modules for maximum versatility and arranging them so that there is no unused space is often just the start of the process. We also need to find the power consumption of each module, and then calculate total power draw per rail for the chosen case to ensure the PSU can provide sufficient power without being overloaded. There is also the problem of having audible noise on the power rails from a noisy power supply, which can range from barely noticeable to unacceptable. On top of that, there's the it takes to put it all together, then fully testing everything to make sure it is all working as it should.

6U Full system

This is AJH Synth's 'starter' system of two-rows (6U), built around a complete MiniMod voice and additional modules. This is a great, straight-forward instrument to use, learn and understand. It is however deceptively capable, and with it's 3 VCOs, 2 sub-bass generators, mixers, 2 LFOs, 3 envelopes, and 2 VCAs, the following examples are possible:

One huge, single Minimoog-style, 3-VCO monosynth/voice, with 2 additional sub-octaves.
As above, but using the Gemini 2412 as a stereo filter with the 2 VCAs.
Three different sounds using separate filters, sharing VCO & noise, using Muting Mixer to switch each sound on and off.
A simple, single-VCO, 2 voice polyphonic patch with matching filters (Gemini 1 & 2).
Two completely separate monosynths - a 2-VCO synth similar to a Prodigy or Odyssey, AND a single-VCO synth with 2 sub-basses, similar to an early Roland SH101 or Micromoog, but with 2 sub-octaves and multiple mixable waveforms.
The Precision Voltages additionally adds (among other things) the ability to immediately and accurately shift the pitch of the VCOs in relation to an incoming CV signal from a keyboard or sequencer. Having all of this power and flexibility, in a single box with a single plug, is an excellent entry into the MiniMod world of unrivalled, rich analogue sounds.

Patch cables are a very personal choice, so these systems are supplied without these, however here is a suggestion of suitable sizes to get started:

The 2 longest cables will be useful for connecting the CV & Gate outputs of a controller or sequencer to the CV IN of the Glide + Noise and the GATE inputs of either contour/envelope generator module. The medium-length cables will comfortably reach from one side of the case to the other, whilst the short cables will be most useful for connecting VCOs & noise to the Ring SM or filters, and the envelope generators to VCAs or filter frequency inputs - since these are mostly in close proximity to each other, it will reduce cable overhang.

Deckard's Dream MkII is an eight-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer in desktop format. It is inspired by a certain cinematic sound from the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The synth features a fully analog signal path with two independent layers per voice. Discrete waveshapers help to reproduce the oddities of the original waveforms, especially the sawtooth glitch, which is a big part of the CS-80 sound. An autotune function assures that all 16 VCOs are tracking perfectly. It even offers detune and microtuning settings for a more vintage feel. With the addition of MIDI implementation, 256 presets (which can be managed on the integrated OLED display) and an upcoming software editor provided by Spektro Audio, this vintage inspired poly synth is at home in any modern studio.

For each layer, the synth offers a VCO with square, saw and sine waveforms, discrete 12 dB HP and LP filters with separate resonance controls, an ADSR for the filter with adjustable initial and attack levels, and an ADSR dedicated to the VCA. MD900 is a polyphonic desktop synthesizer, multitimbral with 4 parts. A polyphony of up to 16 voices are shared by the 4 multi-timbral parts. All of these 4 parts have their own effect stack [Mod-Delay (flanger, chorus, vibrato), Reverb, Tube-AMP, EQ, LP-Filter, DYNAMIC (Limiter) , Stereo Delay ...].

The overall audio path is stereo. Rationally, the oscillator, mixer filter, amps and effects are all in stereo.

Overview Firmware OS:

The XVA-Sound Engine of the MD900 runs on top of a Linux OS with real time extensions. The overall boot time is < 30 sec.

The filesystem is accessible over ethernet (USB-Lan Adapter).

Managing presets, samples, wavetables configurations & updates are possible and easy to handle.

Operation Panel:

Sample Engine:
On the sample side of things, the Prophet X provides two independent, stereo, digitally sampled instruments per voice (4 in Stack or Split mode). The 150 GB of internal sample content was created by 8Dio, known for pioneering "deep sampling." You'll find a diverse collection of acoustic and electronic instruments as well as plenty of edgy ambient and cinematic effects. You can shape the samples through loop manipulation, sample stretching, and the Prophet X's sound-sculpting modulation functions. Each sample instrument has its own Tone control for high-pass or low-pass filtering. Fifty gigabytes of additional internal storage is dedicated to importing external sample libraries. On the synth side, the Prophet X gives you the power of a classic Prophet, with two high-resolution digital oscillators that feature both classic waveshapes and a supersaw for more timbral possibilities. Using the Shape Mod control, you can manually dial in a desired waveshape width for any of the classic sine, sawtooth, or pulse waves, or use an LFO or other mod source for continuously shifting timbre. You can shape the raw sounds with all of the classic synthesis functions you'd expect, including 4 syncable LFOs with slew and phase offset, 4 loopable five-stage envelope generators, and a 16-slot mod matrix with dozens of modulation sources and destinations.

Stereo Filters for Depth and Impact:
At the heart of the Prophet X's powerful sound are its new, 24 dB-per-octave resonant low-pass filters, which are based on a vintage design. There are separate filters in the left and right channels for a true stereo signal path. These add exceptional presence and fullness to both the samples and the oscillators. For additional polyphony, you can switch the Prophet X from 8-voice stereo mode to 16-voice mono mode, which is useful for stacks and splits.

Poly Step Sequencing:
The polyphonic step sequencer provides up to 64 steps and up to 6 notes per step. You can create a different sequence for each layer if working in stacked or split voice mode, making it a powerful tool for composition or performance. Sequences can have ties and rests, and can sync to an external MIDI clock. The arpeggiator features note repeats, re-latching, and can be synced to external MIDI clock, as well.

Two Effects per Layer:
A dual effects engine provides multiple reverbs, 2 delays (standard and BBD), chorus, phase shifter, flanger, vintage rotating speaker, high-pass filter, and distortion. In stacked or split voice mode, you can apply two different effects to each layer. Effects parameters can be modulated through the mod matrix.

Page 2 Mix knobs for the Oscillators: Due to space restrictions, the SE-1(X) didn't allow direct control, requiring navigating to the Audio Mixer page for tweaksitedious. Now holding Shift and using the Pulse Width pots to adjust Oscillator mix levels brings balance and satisfaction.

OSC 2 & 3 Fine Tune: Hold Shift and rotate 2 & 3 Frequency knobs. Another useful and efficient jump-cut.

LFO Gate from our Boomstar and Mini V-30, a venerable and most funky feature from the ARP Odyssey and 2600; LFO 3 can now gate the Envelopes: hold Shift and press LFO 3, or send it CC #9. MIDI sync applies, of course when received.

Lastly for spice and "poly" nice nice, Paraphonic Mode: This allows the 3 oscillators to be played by 3 different MIDI notes, for easy and electric 3X chords. All 3 oscillators still go thru the same VCF and VCA, so it's not truly polyphonic. But with some care and creativity in programming, it can sure swing like it. The AJHSynth MiniMod Keyz synth is an exciting new modular monosynth featuring the much acclaimed MiniMod modules, which recreate the vintage circuitry and sound of the early RA Moog Model D in Eurorack modular format. It functions as a standalone keyboard synthesiser, or can be expanded even further by patching it to other Eurorack modules, with excellent connectivity. These are partnered with the feature-packed Cre8audio Niftykeyz controller keyboard, which has been given a vintage makeover with custom-designed, American Walnut end cheeks. Glide Noise

Glide with added Up/Both/Down function, including correct glide slope profile, along with Hold function that recreates the "Glide only when key is depressed" behaviour. Noise generator with White, Pink and DC Red noise CV modulation source.

Discrete Transistor VCO x 3

Three Discrete Transistor Core VCO's, much acclaimed analogue design featuring the circuitry of the early and very rare RA Moog oscillator which is often acknowledged as the fattest analogue VCO in Eurorack.

Ring SM

AJH Synth's hugely versatile three-in-one module, with fantastic sounding ring modulator based on the EMS VCS3 discrete transistor design, two Sub bass generators with unique, shaped sine waveforms to add -1 and -2 octave waveforms, and last but not least, a five channel DC coupled vintage Moog CP3 transistor mixer.

Transistor Ladder Filter

The Moog Ladder Filter is renowned for its beautiful creamy sound, and the Transistor ladder Filter from the early Model D was the pinnacle in terms of sound, with its unique overdriven circuitry and roll off of resonance at low frequencies. It has featured on countless recordings over the last 50 years or so.

Low Fat Filter

Voltage controlled High Pass filter with 6dB and 12dB slopes. It can be used standalone, or can be combined with the MiniMod Ladder Filter to create a fully customisable band pass filter, allowing the range of passbands to be cherry-picked rather than fixed.

Discrete Cascaded VCA

The Model D cascaded VCA is an essential part of creating the classic MiniMoog sound, because in addition to it's VCA function, it adds harmonic distortion and further character to the sound. There were three different gain configurations used in Model D, with the very early RA Moog and Musonics models having the highest distortion and most sought after sound, so this is the circuitry that we use here. It is actually two VCA's in series, hence the cascaded label. The second VCA is normally unused, however by patching to the Master IN we can use this second VCA here to control Velocity from the keyboard.

Dual Contour generator

The contour generators play a larger part in the sound of the Model D than many people realise. There are two factors that make them unique, firstly the exponential slope when it's used in conjunction with the (near) linear slope of the original VCA, which is responsible for the famous Model D "punch". Secondly, the re-trigger behaviour is quite unique, as multiple re-triggering increases the output level. AJH Synth have faithfully reproduced all of these essential characteristics in the MiniMod Contour Generators.

Tap Tempo VC-LFO

A considerable limitation of the Model D was the lack of any LFO's for modulation, so VCO 3 had to be switched from Audio to LFO mode to provide modulation. As the MiniMod synth benefits from a full open modular architecture AJH Synth have added two LFO's, the first being the onboard LFO that is hard wired to the Modulation wheel, and the second and much more powerful addition being the Tap Tempo VC-LFO. Its huge specification includes built in VCA for CV control of modulation amount, tap tempo and CV control of LFO rate, 16 different modulation and random voltage waveforms, each with a unique PWM style twist function. Clock in and out, and CV control of all parameters.

NiftyKeyz controller Keyboard

By combining these MiniMod modules with the Niftykeyz keyboard controller AJH Synth have created a stand alone MiniMod system that gives the huge, rich AJHSynth sound in a stand alone instrument with unrivalled performance capability. The open architecture of the Eurorack system already allows unlimited onboard patching and easy expansion by patching to other external Eurorack cases and modules, but now we can just as easily connect to a DAW, other Midi synths and pro audio equipment. It can also be used as a master controller for a DAW or other Midi sound modules. Needless to say, it lends itself very well to live performance as a standalone monosynth. Here is a list of the main features of this very versatile keyboard controller:

Notes: The new basic system 3 from Doepfer is a return to Dieter Doepfer's original vision of analogue modular synthesis. Modules can be connected via front panel audio and CV connectors and used in infinite combinations. The Basic System 3 is an easily accessible and well-structured system that can be used by enthusiasts and beginners alike. It can be used as a base for exploring sound synthesis and electronic sounds, or as a supplement to delve deeper into different types of synthesis. For example, it is possible to create 4-part paraphonic patches or create complex sounds using the ring modulator. Percussion and drum sounds can also be created in a variety of ways alongside the classic synth sounds. The system's two filters can also be set to self-resonance to provide additional sound sources. The Waveshaper can be used to modify simple sounds and change their overall timbre. As each user's personal requirements are different, blank panels are installed that can be replaced with modules. The Tape & Microsound Music Machine music synthesizer is a small stereo system devoted to capturing external sounds and sculpting them into new ones. The Morphagene operates as a recorder that also allows the artist to mulch, layer and rearrange the sound and manipulate the speed and direction of playback. The Mimeophon repeats sounds and subjects them to further manipulation, and when combined with the Quad Peak Animation System (QPAS), incredible stereo sculpting of the spectrum. The Wogglebug and MATHS work to animate these effects, and the XOH provides a final stereo mix and line level or headphone outputs for monitoring and/or performance.

Synth - Percussion - Audio Processor

Ample is a compact analogue synthesizer. Analogue - as in really analogue. Aside from the MIDI chip (which has to be digital), everything else is totally analogue using real transistors and op-amps. There are no CPU stabilised and quantised circuits, no DCOs, no digital LFOs and no digital EGs, as found on other so called analogue synths. The circuitry is based on designs dating back to the mid-1970s. So Ample has a genuine old sound.

Circuits included

3x Analogue Oscillators

There are three analogue VCOs - each providing a wealth of features and modulation choices. VCO3 can easily be utilised as a LFO.

2x Analogue Low Frequency Oscillator

LFO2(/Sync) has a triangle wave output. VCO3 can be used as an LFO and has Saw, Triangle and Square wave modulation signals.

Analogue Filter

Ample uses a four pole 24bB per octave low pass filter.

Analogue Amplifier

The VCA can be set to THRU so it is always 'open'. This allows Ample to be used as an effects processor.

2x Analogue Envelopes

There are two EGs - each having full control over ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN, and RELEASE.

Modulation

Great thought has been placed into modulation route choices, allowing a wide range of sounds to be produced, including percussion and 'modular' sounds further extended by patching with the jack sockets and pin matrix.

MIDI

MIDI is intentionally kept simple - so you can concentrate on making new sounds and making music - not getting tied up with SYSEX programming.

You get the all important control over filter cut-off using MIDI Velocity.

Patchable External CV Control Sockets

Ample has many input and output audio and CV sockets - to allow the synth to be effectively re-wired to make new sounds.

The sockets also enable it to be easily used with Eurorack and other modular systems. They can be patched together.

Sequencer

Ample has a vintage style 16 step sequencer.

Touch Keys

There are 6 touch keys that each output a set voltage. Use this to play the pitch or as modulation signals. A great tool for inspiration!

Notes: The iconic Synclavier brand returns with this digital powerhouse, based around FM synthesis but also offering additive and subtractive methods. Super versatile, with up to 98-voice polyphony and MPE support.

Synclavier Regen is the newest in an auspicious line of Digital FM synthesizers. Designed for desktop use, it contains the power of the Synclavier II DSP engine, enhanced and optimised. Full colour screen, liquid-like touch controls, high fidelity audio output coupled with a sound design powerhouse makes this the synth you always dreamed of.

Regen supports additive synthesis for full control of 24 harmonics. Synclavier have now added subtractive synthesis to the Synclavier synthesis engine, especially for Regen, allowing creation of super saws, PCM square waves, and noise generation. Or you can use samples for your carrier waveform.

And these different waveform generators can be mixed. You have up to 12 partials to use in your sound design creation with crossfades assignable to inputs such as velocity, pressure, mod wheel, and of course, keyboard.

On top of that, there are over 2000 royalty-free samples built-in, including over 350 selected original samples from the NED era and 2 exclusive artist sample libraries.

When you're done exploring the factory content, you'll have fun with the sound design possibilities. You can layer up to 12 partials with different sound generators (additive, subtractive, samples) then apply dynamic effects per partial. It's truly an expressive instrument, both to program and to play. Polyphonic aftertouch and MPE is fully supported and there's a sophisticated modulators section where you can apply responsive curves to properties driven by pressure, velocity, mod wheel position, and so on.

Synclavier Regen is a desktop unit measuring 310mm wide by 260mm tall and 42mm deep.

Housed in aluminium, finished with a sand-textured black and Synclavier red surround. It has rubberized plinths.

User interface consists of many silicone buttons with multi-colour backlighting, a virtual knob capacitive-touch slider with epoxy-coating. A VK display is included as well as a main modal display that shows current parameters, user settings, timbre library, etc.

Over 40 years of synth design has led to this product. It's a sound-designer's dream in a timeless desktop package.

Synth - Percussion - Audio Processor

Ample is a compact analogue synthesizer. Analogue - as in really analogue. Aside from the MIDI chip (which has to be digital), everything else is totally analogue using real transistors and op-amps. There are no CPU stabilised and quantised circuits, no DCOs, no digital LFOs and no digital EGs, as found on other so called analogue synths. The circuitry is based on designs dating back to the mid-1970s. So Ample has a genuine old sound.

3x Analogue Oscillators

There are three analogue VCOs - each providing a wealth of features and modulation choices. VCO3 can easily be utilised as a LFO.

2x Analogue Low Frequency Oscillator

LFO2(/Sync) has a triangle wave output. VCO3 can be used as an LFO and has Saw, Triangle and Square wave modulation signals.

Analogue Filter

Ample uses a four pole 24bB per octave low pass filter.

Analogue Amplifier

The VCA can be set to THRU so it is always 'open'. This allows Ample to be used as an effects processor.

2x Analogue Envelopes

There are two EGs - each having full control over ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN, and RELEASE.

Modulation

Great thought has been placed into modulation route choices, allowing a wide range of sounds to be produced, including percussion and 'modular' sounds further extended by patching with the jack sockets and pin matrix.

MIDI

MIDI is intentionally kept simple - so you can concentrate on making new sounds and making music - not getting tied up with SYSEX programming.

You get the all important control over filter cut-off using MIDI Velocity.

Patchable External CV Control Sockets

Ample has many input and output audio and CV sockets - to allow the synth to be effectively re-wired to make new sounds.

The sockets also enable it to be easily used with Eurorack and other modular systems. They can be patched together.

Sequencer

Ample has a vintage style 16 step sequencer.

Touch Keys

There are 6 touch keys that each output a set voltage. Use this to play the pitch or as modulation signals. A great tool for inspiration!

Kernel mode has been introduced with the OS 2.0 of Quantum. This huge upgrade allows one oscillator to be turned into up to six sub oscillators. These can be interlinked through FM at audio rate and arranged in user-definable constellations. Just this upgrade alone would have provided enough additional features to create a synthesizer on its own. Now, all those functions have been integrated into Iridium as well.

Up to 7000 patches can be saved in Iridium. Patches from Quantum can be loaded in Iridium and vice-versa.

Iridium features three digital filters per voice. Two in the Dual Filter section and another one in the Digital Former. Several types are available to choose from:
12 or 24dB and Lowpass/Highpass/Bandpass with optional saturation or dirtiness.
Various filter models are available including those from Waldorf Nave, Largo and PPG 3V.
The Dual Filter section can be controlled independently or together in several different link modes.

The Digital Former offers all the filter types and models from the Dual Filter plus unusual models like Comb, Drive, Bitcrusher and more in addition.

Notes: The Prophet-6 is Sequential's tribute to the poly synth that started it all - the Sequential Prophet-5. But it's not simply a reissue of a classic. Rather, as Sequential put it, "It's the result of our effort to build the most awesome-sounding, modern analog poly synth possible." The Prophet-6 takes the best qualities of the original Prophet - true voltage-controlled oscillators, filters, and amplifiers - and adds enhancements such as studio-quality effects, a polyphonic step sequencer, an arpeggiator, and more. The result is pure, unadulterated analog tone with the stability and reliability of a state-of-the-art modern synth.

Central to the warm, punchy sound of the Prophet-6 are its two newly-designed, discrete voltage-controlled oscillators (plus sub-oscillator) per voice. Continuously variable waveshapes provide the tonal palette with triangle, sawtooth, and variable-width pulse waves. There are two discrete filters per voice - a four-pole, resonant, low-pass inspired by the original Prophet-5 filter, and a two-pole, resonant, high-pass filter. Voltage-controlled amplifiers complete the all-analog signal path.

The dual effects section provides studio-quality reverbs, delays (standard and BBD), chorus and phase shifter. While the effects themselves are digital, with 24-bit, 48 kHz resolution, a true bypass maintains a full analog signal path. There's also an independent stereo distortion effect, which is 100% analog.

Also present from its classic predecessor is a Poly Mod section, with enhancements. True to the original, modulation sources are filter envelope and oscillator 2 (both with bi-polar control). Destinations include oscillator 1 frequency, oscillator 1 shape, oscillator 1 pulse width, low-pass filter cutoff, and high-pass filter cutoff. Another welcome reprise is Unison mode, which features configurable voice count (1-6 voices) and key modes. The polyphonic step sequencer allows up to 64 steps and up to 6 notes per step. You can create sequences polyphonically, with rests, and sync to an external MIDI clock. The full-featured arpeggiator can be synced to external MIDI clock as well.

The knob-per-function front panel offers instant access to virtually all Prophet-6 functions. Included are 500 permanent factory programs in 10 banks of 100 programs. In addition to these, you can create and save up to 500 user programs of your own. Toggling off the Preset button enables live panel mode, in which the sound of the Prophet-6 switches to the current settings of its knobs and switches. In this state, what you see is what you hear.

All of this awe-inspiring sound is packed into a four octave, semi-weighted keyboard with velocity and channel aftertouch that's an ideal combination portability and power for the project studio or the gigging musician.

Synclavier Regen is a desktop unit measuring 310mm wide by 260mm tall and 42mm deep.

The OB-6 is a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration between the two most influential designers in poly synth history, Sequential and Tom Oberheim. The OB-6 takes the classic bold Tom Oberheim sound - with its true voltage-controlled oscillators, 2-pole filter, and amplifiers - and adds modern enhancements such as studio-quality effects, a polyphonic step sequencer, an arpeggiator, and more. No other modern analog poly synth can boast such a pedigree or such a massive, in-your-face sonic signature.

Vintage SEM Tone:
The OB-6 sound engine is inspired by Tom's original SEM, the core of his acclaimed 4-voice and 8- voice synthesizers. It features two discrete voltage-controlled oscillators (plus sub-oscillator) per voice with continuously variable waveshapes (sawtooth and variable-width pulse, plus a triangle wave on oscillator 2). The classic Oberheim-inspired 2-pole, state-variable, resonant filter provides low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and notch functionality. Voltage-controlled amplifiers complete the all-analog signal path.

Dual Effects:
The dual effects section provides studio-quality reverbs, delays (standard and BBD), chorus, flangers, and faithful recreations of Tom's original phase shifter and ring modulator. While the effects themselves are digital, with 24-bit, 48 kHz resolution, a true bypass maintains a full analog signal path.

X-Mod and Poly Step Sequencing:
Also present is X-Mod, which expands the tonal palette and makes it easy to create dramatic and unconventional sounds. Modulation sources are filter envelope and oscillator 2, both with bi-polar control. Destinations include oscillator 1 frequency, oscillator 1 shape, oscillator 1 pulse width, filter cutoff, and filter mode. The polyphonic step sequencer allows up to 64 steps and up to 6 notes per step. You can create sequences polyphonically, with rests, and sync to an external MIDI clock. The full-featured arpeggiator can be synced to external MIDI clock as well. Unison mode features configurable voice count (1-6 voices), chord memory, and key modes.

Easy to Program:
The knob-per-function front panel puts virtually all OB-6 functions at your fingertips. Included are 500 permanent factory programs and 500 rewritable user programs. Turning on the Manual button enables live panel mode, in which the sound of the OB-6 switches to its current front panel settings. In this state, what you see is what you hear.

Easy to Play:
This analog powerhouse is packed into a four-octave, semi-weighted keyboard with velocity and channel aftertouch, making it perfect for stage or studio.

Notes: The Shuttle System is a versatile modular setup, capable of generating classical as well as experimental sounds. It comes with a cover and adhesive strip for protecting the system from dust and to carry it around.

The synthesiser is composed of two Buchla style oscillators plus Waveshaper, two function generators, which can be used as envelopes, LFOs or additional VCOs, two filters respectively low pass gates with eight modes of operation and an effects processor.

Furthermore, a mono/stereo mixer with inserts and ducking compressor, utility circuits and a tune section are included. To control all those components, the instrument features an extensively equipped MIDI CV interface. Consequently, the Shuttle System is able to create an extremely wide range of high quality sounds.

The Cockpit is a performance mixer with 4 stereo channels, two channels of send and return to use iOS devices for signal processing (via a 4-pin TRRS cable) and also comes with an integrated compressor with sidechain input.

Endorphin.es Furthrrrr Generator:
The Furthrrrr Generator is a complex, completely analog oscillator inspired by the Buchla 259.

Endorphin.es Gateway:
Gateway is an expander for Endorhin.es Terminal which expands the envelope possibilities, with an integrated autotune-function for VCOs.

Endorphin.es Grand Terminal:
The Grand Terminal is a digital multipurpose module. Its two function generators can be used as envelopes, LFOs or VCOs. The 2 filter channels individually offer 8 modes of operation, and combined with its mixing and routing capabilities and a multi effects unit, it is not only a complete back end of a synth voice, but can also be used as a synthesiser voice, stereo filter bank or general purpose sound effects processor.

Endorphin.es Shuttle Control:
Shuttle Control is a freely configurable converter from USB-MIDI to CV/gate/clock with16 outputs. Use the USB sockets to connect a USB keyboard and the "to device" micro USB connector to hook up a tablet or PC/Mac with controller software which doesn't have to be capable of MIDI. Furthermore it can be used as power supply and distribution and internal MIDI/CV-bus for a small modular system.

Since its beginnings Erica Synths has promoted experimental electronic music and has developed instruments that enable musicians to explore it.

When it comes to standalone instruments, one of the most encouraging instruments in experimental music was Synthi AKS, so Erica Synths have teamed up with engineers from Riga Technical University to develop a synthesizer with a user interface inspired by Synthi AKS.

SYNTRX [sintrex] is developed from scratch all analogue synthesizer (no part of schematics is cloned from Synthi AKS) with digitally controlled patch matrix. Unlike most of patch matrixes around, that mechanically connect signals, our 16x16 matrix utilizes 32 (!!!) 16 channel analogue switch ICs AS16M1 (made in Latvia, Alfa RPAR) and is a mixer/buffered multiple with 3 level attenuation (gain 1, 0,6 and 0,3) in connection points. It has 256 patch memory, automatic patch switching in performance mode or via MIDI messages.

SYNTRX has 3 highly accurate VCOs that track great over 8 octaves, noise generator with "colour" filter, resonant VCF, ring modulator, spring reverb, looping envelope generator, joystick controller, input amplifier with adjustable gain for microphone to line level signals, 3 VCAs, output signal filter, analogue CV/audio signal level indicator and built in speakers. Extra features, not found on Synthi AKS, are Sample & Hold circuit with individual clock, octave switch for VCO1, synchronization of VCO2, AD mode on the envelope generator, as well as MIDI that accepts CV, Gate, Modulation wheel messages and program change messages for the matrix control. The SYNTRX comes in aluminium enclosure with ash tree side panels.

SYNTRX will inspire users to explore the space and travel to previously undiscovered audible realms.
