Landscape Soundwich Device Landscape Soundwich Device Landscape Soundwich Device
Landscape Soundwich Device (audio trigger/processing device)
Cat: 835758 Rel: 17 Aug 22

A device based on the sound of tact switches, hardware and PCB material
Notes: Soundwich is a device based on the sound of tact switches, hardware and PCB material. In part it's a compact and sturdy form factor for interaction with piezo experimentation. The piezo disks are directly mounted to the undersides of the top and bottom PCBs creating a direct connection to the sounds of the tact switches. The two 3.5mm jacks can be used as either ins or outs. One is a momentary out and one is always on. The momentary output allows you to hear only the depressed click sound of the tact switches while the always on output allows you to hear both the depress and release of the tact switches amplified by the two piezos. When you shake the Soundwich you will hear the sound of six washers sliding along machine screws and colliding against the two piezo pickups. Using momentary out while shaking will only allow that sound to escape when disks are compressed. Compressing along the edges will provide different filtering amounts depending on where you press [the 7 stacked lines indicate greatest amount of filtering/attenuation with less and less filtering as your travel counterclockwise till there is nearly zero]. Routing audio or CV through provides a fast and tactile handheld momentary on device.

A simple passive piezo, tact switch and hardware based sound device which can expel audio or accept it.

A piezo pickup with a constant output.

A piezo pickup with a momentary output when disks are depressed in center point.

A piezo pickup with momentary out through 8 different filter amounts when depressing disks along edges (volume is also attenuated).

An exciter for resonators and effects.

A shaker using internal washers to strike the top and bottom piezos.

A shaker with momentary out through 8 different RC filter amounts.

A lo-fi vocal mic when pressed directly against the lips (and/or momentary on when using momentary jack).

A very quiet lo-fi speaker.

A tactile momentary on switch when routing audio through it (in one direction).

A momentary on w/ lowpass filtering and volume attenuation when routing audio through (the reverse direction).

A momentary on plus attenuation of modular signal when routing through the RC filter.

A shaker and clicky trigger source for some modular synthesizer modules without needing an extra boost to modular levels.

When boosted to modular levels, clicks and/or shakes can be used to advance a sequencer for example.

When placed on a hard surface, each side can create different rhythm sounds when tapped.

Ploytec PI L Squared Mini MIDI Synthesizer (black) Ploytec PI L Squared Mini MIDI Synthesizer (black)
Cat: 544561 Rel: 13 Aug 14

MIDI powered mini synthesiser with square wave synthesis and digital & analog filter
Notes: Despite its small housing the PL2 is a complete duophonic mono synthesizer. The PL2 generates an enormous variety of sounds with the help of two square wave (pulse) oscillators which can be interconnected in variable and innovative ways - these are fun to experiment with. Not only the classic waveforms such as saw-, sine- or pulse-waves will be simulated, rather newly and interesting sounds - from warm to destructive - are also generated.

The PL2 receives its data always via MIDI channel 1 and all setting parameters can be edited by MIDI controller commandos.
Up to 32 of your own self-programmed sounds can be stored in the user memory area. In addition, further 32 factory sounds are located within a fixed memory area which provides ideal starting material to experiment with.

Generally the PL2 follows the principle of subtractive synthesis in which the waveform (generated by the oscillators) first runs through a wide range adjustable digital filter stage (low- high- and band-pass) to edit the frequency spectrum and/or amplify the resonance area if desired. After the digital filter an additional analog low-pass filter follows which particularly ensures the necessary warmth especially for destructive- and digital-like sounds.

Wait, there's more: a dedicated analog saturation stage at the output provides dynamic compression and therefore a respectable bass punch is created.

Of course the PL2 includes several additional options in terms of sound and playing manipulation like LFO modulation, PWM, ADSR envelope and various play modes. Another interesting detail: LFO- and envelope-speed synchronise automatically to an external applied MIDI clock - whereby the PL2 perfectly adjust to your song tempo.

Thanks to the memory flash technology: future PL2 synthesizer extensions or new features can be integrated by updating the firmware via MIDI system exclusive (SysEx) transmission.

Korg Monotron Duo Analog Synthesizer + Monotron Delay Analog Synthesizer (REDUCED PRICE BUNDLE) Korg Monotron Duo Analog Synthesizer + Monotron Delay Analog Synthesizer (REDUCED PRICE BUNDLE) Korg Monotron Duo Analog Synthesizer + Monotron Delay Analog Synthesizer (REDUCED PRICE BUNDLE)
Notes: The Korg Monotron Duo is capable of creating even stranger, extreme and diverse sounds. The combination of 2 oscillators in unison provide thick, rich analogue tones, while tuning them to different intervals can create classic solo synth sounds and powerful effects. Korg have utilized their X-Mod (cross modulation taken from their classic Mono/Poly synths) circuitry in the Monontron Duo, enabling you to generate the mildest of sounds, to vibrant vibrato, to sharp, fm style abrasive synth sounds.

The Monotron Duo features Korg's fantastic enhanced ribbon controller keyboard and now features the same scale function as used on the Kaossilator, chromatic, major, minor or off scales are available, allowing your music juices to flow freely over any music. The distinctive tone of an analog filter (VCF) can dramatically alter and enrich the sound. The Monotron Duo uses the same highly acclaimed VCF circuit as Korg's classic MS-10 and MS-20 semi modular synthesizers. Originally released over 30 years ago, these instruments are still coveted today for their aggressive, dynamic filters. The VCF Cutoff knob sets the frequency or tone of the filter; the VCF Peak knob adds emphasis. A powerful filter is an essential aspect of any analog synthesizer, applying dramatic tonal changes to the sound, and projecting an intense personality that will stand out in any live performance.

The input jack (AUX input) built into the Monotron Duo's compact body allow you to place any audio source into the Monotron Duo's signal path, directly before the analog filter. This provides a great way to connect a Kaossilator, a guitar, or a digital audio player to the Monotron and enjoy tone-bending filter effects.

A miniature speaker is built into the Monotron Duo. Along with the battery operation and compact size, this feature allows you to enjoy the share the Monotron Duo's analog synthesis sound with your friends, anywhere, at any time. There's also a headphone output that you can use when practicing in private, creating sounds at home, recording, or for connecting to an amplifier or PA system.

Rakit Analogue Metal Percussion Synthesiser (fully assembled) Rakit Analogue Metal Percussion Synthesiser (fully assembled) Rakit Analogue Metal Percussion Synthesiser (fully assembled)
Cat: 711052 Rel: 12 Feb 19

Shaped noise percussion synthesiser
Notes: The Rakit Metal Synth has a Polivok's inspired filter at its core. It uses this, along with a punchy AD envelope to produce a variety of percussive sounds from shaped noise.

It was designed to be a companion to the Rakit Drum Synth and as such creates a range of mad/interesting sounds and some very useful metallic sounds.

How it Works:

The synth is triggered by a piezo disc which is sensitive to how hard you tap the top panel giving subtle differences in the two stage envelope.

The noise is generated digitally by a pre-programmed microcontroller. The filter at the heart of the unit can be controlled and modified by the Sweep, lowpass/bandpass, Resonance, Cutoff and Cutoff CV.

2x Trigger Options:

Trigger by activating the piezo under the touchpad (Metal Logo) or by plugging in an external trigger.

Powering The Unit:

The Metal Synth comes with a 9V pp3 battery to barrel jack connector as standard. We recommend using an alkaline battery, this is not included.

Should you wish to use your own power supply, please ensure it meets the following specifications:

+8V to +12V, Centre positive 2.1mm (centre) x 5.5mm (outside)

Division 6 Business Card Synthesizer Division 6 Business Card Synthesizer Division 6 Business Card Synthesizer Division 6 Business Card Synthesizer
Cat: 777973 Rel: 28 May 21

business card synthesiser
Notes: Literally the size of a business card (if a little bit thicker), one of the smallest synths on the market. Simple design with a surprisingly punchy sound, plus CV and gate inputs for control.

Supplier's Notes:
The Business Card Synthesizer is a tiny synth that can be connected to a Business Card Sequencer, other synth gear, or played by itself.

Headphones can be connected directly to the output of the synth, and there are plenty of knobs to play with, so you can easily make noises anywhere. Great for learning about synthesizers!

S&H Button: Enables Sample & Hold, which disables the external CV IN jack and uses LFO1 and LFO2 to determine oscillator pitch. LFO1 sets the sample rate (SHAPE is ignored for this), and LFO2 is the wave that gets sampled.

GATE Button: Manually turns on the gate so sound comes out of the synth. This control is momentary, but you can latch it on by tapping the S&H button while holding the GATE button down.

COARSE TUNE: Adjusts the pitch of the oscillator up or down in large increments

FINE TUNE: Adjusts the pitch of the oscillator up or down in fine increments

SHAPE: Changes the shape of the wave produced by the main oscillator (VCO). Turning this control fully CW gives you a triangle wave. Start turning it CCW takes you through sawtooth/ramp, then at about the 12:00 position you get a square wave. Continue turning it CCW and you get several higher duty cycle square waves
.
GLIDE: Adjusts the rate at which the pitch of the VCO takes to go between pitches (whether changed by the COARSE TUNE knob or CV IN). Fully CCW causes the pitch to react almost instantly, while fully CW makes it take its sweet time.

LFO 1 / LFO 2 SHAPE: Changes the shape of the waves produced by the low-frequency oscillators (LFOs). The shapes are similar to those of the VCO, except that the LFOs have sawtooth/ramp waves that go both up and down (since you can actually hear the difference at LFO rates).

LFO 1 / LFO 2 RATE: Controls how fast the LFOs go.

LFO -> VCO: Routes the two LFOs to control the pitch of the main oscillator. The 12:00 position is basically "off", and the LFOs have no effect on pitch. Start turning the control CCW and LFO1 starts changing the pitch of the VCO. Maximum effect is at about 10:00. Continuing to turn the control starts to bring in LFO2 as well. All the way CCW gives you full effect from both LFO1 and LFO2.

Turning the control CW from 12:00 does essentially the same thing, but brings in LFO2 first, then LFO1.

This might seem like kind of a weird control, but it gives you quite a bit of routing flexibility with one knob. You can have no pitch modulation, LFO1, LFO2, LFO1 with a little LFO2, or LFO2 with a little LFO1.

LFO -> VCA: Routes the two LFOs to control the amplitude of the oscillator. (See LFO -> VCO control description above for more information about how the control works.)

ATTACK: Controls how fast the audio amplitude fades in when the gate is triggered. CCW is fast and CW is slow.

DECAY: Controls how fast the audio amplitude fades out when the gate is released. CCW is fast and CW is slow.

VOLUME: Controls the overall volume of the signal coming from AUDIO OUT.

FILTER: Changes the cutoff frequency of an analog low-pass filter. Turn the knob fully CW and all frequencies (that you can hear) are let through. Start turning it CCW and the high frequencies start getting cut off, until the sound becomes muddy / muffled. Use in conjunction with the SHAPE control to get the tonal quality you are looking for.

Connections:
CV IN: Accepts a 1 volt/octave control voltage to control the pitch of the oscillator. It responds from about 0-5V, but voltages outside of this range won't cause damage. The CV input is quantized, so only valid (western scale) notes are played. This input is ignored when Sample & Hold is enabled.
GATE IN: A voltage greater than about 2.5V will turn on the gate and allow audio to come out the output of the synth.
AUDIO OUT: Connect to an amplifier or another synth. The jack has both the tip and ring connected, so you can even use stereo headphones and hear sound from both ears.
Power: Connect 7.5-15VDC to this 3.5mm TS jack to power the synthesizer. The tip is positive (don't worry, there's a protection diode in case you get it reversed). You can get power from a 9V battery, AC adapter, or you may even be able to find an output on your modular synthesizer that can provide enough current.

Specifications:
Power supply: 7-15VDC (reverse-polarity protected!)
Power connection: 3.5mm phone jack, center-positive
Current draw: 15ma
Dimensions: 3.5" x 2" (the same as a business card!)

Analogue bass line synthesiser with VCO, VCF, 16-step sequencer, distortion effects & 16-voice poly chain
Notes: Behringer's take on the classic Roland TB-303 analogue bass synth, the sound of acid house and much more. A true icon of electronic music, reborn at an affordable price.

Supplier's Notes:
Only produced from 1981 to 1984, the Roland TB-303 was a tremendous commercial flop as a replacement for the bass guitar, however it soon found its place as one of the most-loved synthesizers for what became known as Electronic Dance Music (EDM). An ultra-affordable and faithful homage to the iconic synthesizer that spawned house music, plus an all-new Distortion circuit, the TD-3-BU lets you conjure up virtually any sound with incredible finesse and ease. With its pure analogue signal path, 16-step Sequencer and authentic VCO, VCF and VCA filters, the TD-3-BU is sure to become one of your favourite synthesizers.

Great care has been taken in engineering the TD-3-BU, including the true to the original VCO, VCF and VCA designs and pure analogue circuitry with matched transistors. This highly-focused attention to detail is what gives TD-3-BU its ultra-flexible sound shaping capability, which covers everything from super-fat bass and lead tones to stunning effects - all the way out to the otherworldly sounds of your imagination.

Your TD-3-BU comes ready to rock, thanks to its default signal routing that doesn't require lifting a single patch cable to instantly create amazing sounds. The highly-intuitive layout lets you easily tap into the inspired sounds of 1980s and '90s progressive rock, wave, EDM and synth-pop music tracks that made rock and roll history.

The very heart of TD-3-BU's sound is its versatile 24 dB/octave filter, which lets you freely experiment with the low-pass Cutoff frequency and Resonance settings to dial in the perfect sound.

TD-3-BU's authentic Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) with transistor wave-shaping circuitry is ultra-easy to use and provides your choice of reverse-sawtooth or pulse waveforms for the ultimate in sound creation.

The onboard sequencer with 7 tracks allows you to program up to 16 steps of notes and rests and save them as a Pattern. You can record, save and recall up to 250 patterns, all of which can be stored in the 4 Groups. Your sequences can be played either in Keyboard mode, where you create and store the pattern, or Step mode which allows you to interact while composing a pattern. The onboard Arpeggiator features wide patterns you can build to provide a virtually-endless array of sound effects. Both the sequencer and arpeggiator in the TD-3-BU are fun, mesmerizing and totally addictive...

When you want to add even more power to your performance, just flip the Distortion On/Off switch and dial in the perfect amount of Drive to push the "envelope" to the max.

16-Note Poly Chain Ready:
While it is a monophonic instrument (one note at a time), TD-3-BU's 16-note Poly Chain function lets you combine multiple synthesizers for up to 16-voice polyphony - plus provides vastly improved reliability and stability over its 1970s and '80s predecessors.

TD-3-BU has 11 controls and 28 switches to give you direct and real-time access to all important parameters, all laid out in a highly-intuitive format that puts the joy back into your music creation. And you can expand TD-3-BU's tone-sculpting capabilities beyond your wildest dreams by utilizing the multi-I/O patchbay to connect external devices!

The 1/4" TS mono Main Out carries the main output signal. The 1/8" headphone jack is perfect for monitoring your sound. The B1's audio I/O options have you covered.
