Notes: Sometimes your ears are not enough and you really need to see the sounds and control voltages you are generating. Zeroscope's two channel design lets you display and compare both control voltages and audio. It's a good old fashioned sci-fi light show!

The Zeroscope 1U is an adaptation of the excellent 3U Zeroscope by VPME.DE.

Three Modes Packed Into 1U:

- Scope: Standard graphical display, with time displayed on the X-axis and voltage displayed on the Y-axis.
- X-Y: Alternate graphical display with CH 1 driving the X-axis and CH 2 driving the Y-axis.
- Tune: Alphanumerical tuning display, which you can configure to show either Hz values or note names.

The Scope displays have adjustable display offset for each channel and an adjustable trigger threshold, while the tuner has options for reference pitch and average update speed.
Ins & Outs

The inputs are DC coupled and accept signals between -10V and +10V. The Signal on the input is normalled to the output below; this allows you to monitor or tune a signal without a mult or re-patching.

Notes: The module is built around high quality VCA chips from THAT Corp, as well as low noise opamps. It offers clickless muting and equal loudness panning. The distinct feature is that voltage control is dynamically compressed should it yield clipping when pushed too hard. Also, in both modes the attenuators offer full closing of the corresponding channel, regardless of being controlled by the CV, or not. The VCAs fully open (0dB gain) at CV=8V in Env mode and CV=5V in LFO mode. All the input and output signal levels are Eurorack levels.

Multiple Praga units can be chained thanks to dedicated headers on the back. The mixed stereo sum of each unit in the chain is added to the mixing bus of all units downstream.

A dedicated Hrad expander will offer master volume control, gate inputs for channels muting/unmuting, headphone amplifier, and voltage control over aux sends.

Notes: nRings

This is a new build of a micro version of Rings from Mutable Instruments. MicroRings, also called NanoRings, retains all the same functionality as a full-size Rings module.

The module is fully assembled, tested, and calibrated. Eurorack power cable is included.

These modules use tall bushing potentiometers to offer a more stable feel.

Notes: ADSR is a four stage linear envelope with two expressive ranges. Each stage can be modified independently allowing for the creation of complex, multi-segment envelopes. Great for modulating filters, VCAs, and oscillators.

Notes: Based on a new digital hardware platform, the Spectraphon is a powerhouse spectral oscillator, capable of everything from analogue-style dual complex oscillators to FM and much more.

Supplier's Notes:
The Make Noise/Soundhack Spectraphon is a dual Spectral Oscillator coded by Tom Erbe of Soundhack. It uses real-time spectral analysis and resynthesis to create new sounds from those that already exist. It is inspired by classic electronic musical instruments of the past, including spectral processors, additive synthesis, vocoders, and resonators especially the Buchla 296 and Touche, but it takes a physical form more resembling the classic analogue dual complex oscillator in the lineage of the Buchla 259 and the Make Noise DPO.

The Spectraphon is the first module to be built by Make Noise on its new digital hardware platform. This hardware, engineered by Jeff Snyder and Tony Rolando, provides more i/o at higher resolutions, and a lower noise floor than we have ever had access to in a digital module, allowing us to unleash Tom Erbe's DSP code to a previously unattainable degree.

The Spectraphon has two nearly identical sides, A and B, which oscillate in one of two ways: Spectral Amplitude Modulation (SAM), or Spectral Array Oscillation (SAO). In SAM, instead of oscillating at all times like an analogue VCO, sound at the Spectraphon's input is used to modulate the amplitude of a set of harmonics. In SAM the Spectraphon can be sequenced and frequency modulated like any VCO. At any time the current spectrum can be used to create an Array for later use in SAO mode where the Spectraphon oscillates at all times, with the spectrum at the Odd and Even harmonic outputs being drawn from those stored Arrays.

The Slide and Focus controls are mode-dependent: in SAM, they determine how the Spectraphon responds to sound at the input for Spectral AM, while in SAO, they are used to modulate the Array.

In either mode (SAM or SAO), the Partials control works as a combined amplitude and timbre gate for the Odd and Even harmonic output and the FM Bus will create high definition internal frequency modulation from the opposing side of the Spectraphon. The two sides can also interact via the internal FM Bus, the Follow and Sync modes, and by patching them together.

Notes: The window comparator is a very useful circuit building block that is common in general electronics, but rarely found in modular synths. While a regular comparator activates when the input signal voltage is higher than a threshold level, a window comparator checks if the voltage is between two levels (these form the 'window').

Compare 2 combines two such comparators and a logic section in 8 HP. The result is an advanced tool for extracting gates and pulses from analogue signals in Eurorack synths.

The detection windows are defined by the shift and size parameters, which can be varied using the knobs and CV inputs. Complementary gate outputs are available, with big three-colour LEDs showing each comparator's status.

All inputs are normalised from the left section to the right, but the two comparators can also be used completely independently. On the bottom, the outputs from both comparators are combined in various ways by the logic section, which also features LEDs.

You'll find a use for this truly multi-functional module in practically any patch, processing either CV or audio: complex rhythm generator, dual pulse width modulator, frequency multiplier/divider with PWM, digital ‘ring modulator’ with PWM, dynamic depth VCO synchronizer, voltage controlled swing, logic function array with adjustable thresholds... and many more applications waiting to be discovered!

Some of the key features:

VOLTAGES mode:

Up to 16 voltage storage locations (grid) with 8 voltages stored at each location.

You have the choice to record and playback your recall of these locations in a looper style (just play freely and spend arbitrary amount of time at any location) or as a clocked sequence (SH-101 style). Additionally you can traverse the matrix using the X and Y CV inputs to get Cartesian style sequencing.

There is also variable slew that allows you to morph/glide between the values.

NOTES mode:

You can create sequences or loops in chord, scales or keyboard mode. The isomorphic keyboard grid can vary from 4 notes to 12 notes max. There are real-time performance looping, transposition and inversion capabilities via the CV inputs and dedicated loop button. In sequencer mode each step can be a tie, rest, or gate with size 25/50/75%. Basically we have created a way to very quickly and intuitively make chord sequences that are very musical and easy to manipulate. It is difficult to summarize in words but we will be sure to create some videos to demonstrate how easy and fun this is to play with. It definitely represents something unique in the landscape of Eurorack sequencers.

COMBO mode:

In this mode you can loop record your performance on any combination of the following functions:

fader, bipolar fader, drum hit, switch or LFO. Kind of like Elektron style parameter locking but all of the motions is recorded continuously instead of just in slices. Instantly turn a simple patch into a highly animated and complex beast.

With all of the above mentioned loop recording modes you can very easily overdub since the Tetrapad detects pressure/pressing. In combo mode you can erase individual channels.

All modes allow for internal or external clocking and configurable syncing.

All of the modes have special XYZ CV modulation assignments and make use of the dedicated CV outputs.

For example, in Looper mode one of the CV outputs generates a continuous ramp that represents the position in the loop. This can be used with devices like the Planar 2 in Interpolation mode to sync the recorded patterns together no matter what tempo.

Notes: The module contains two ADSR type voltage controlled envelope generators with exponential curve shapes (charge/discharge curves of a capacitor) behind a front panel with 8 HP only.

The output voltage range for each envelope is 0 - 10V (10V = attack peak).

The time range of Attack/Decay/Release is about 1ms to 30s.

By means of internal jumpers one can select which time parameters are controlled by the CVT input (e.g. D only or D+R or A+D+R) and in which direction (i.e. if an increasing CVT shortens or stretches the time parameter in question).

Socket CVT can be normalled to an internal fixed voltage (i.e. the switching contact is connected to an internal fixed voltage). That way it's possible to change all time parameters simultaneously by means of the CVT control.

Another jumper is used to set output 2 to normal or inverted envelope.

And another jumper is used for the normalling of Gate 2 to Gate 1 (i.e. ADSR#2 is also triggered by Gate 1).

Two more jumpers are used for the optional bus access to the gate signal of the bus for each ADSR.

By quantizing the oscillators to scales or series of harmonics, the Ensemble Oscillator allows you to explore the sonic boundary between musical chords and rich evolving textures. The ASSIMIL8OR is a CV/Gate-controllable sampler with eight independent channels. Each channel is not only its own voice, but also has a separate audio output and a gate/trigger and three CV inputs. Given ever get two sample inputs and main outputs. Thus, Stereo Sampling and playback is possible. Mixed operation of stereo or mono is possible and is limited only by the maximum number of eight channels or parts.

The ASSIMIL8OR works with high-quality 24-bit AD and DA converters. Internally, however, sample and bit rate for lo-fi sound can be lowered, the latter is even CV-controllable. The samples can also be otherwise manipulated in many ways. Thus, the phase of a sample via CV or a different sample can be modulated. Notes: Any signal can be expressed in terms of a few parameters: frequency, phase, amplitude and timbre. It is through modulation of these aspects that synthesists create electronic sound. With Generate 3, it is now possible to create a signal and control all its parameters by through-zero modulation within a single 12 HP wide module.

Everything starts with the exceptionally precise triangle-core voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) at the module’s heart. Through-zero linear frequency modulation (FM) enables rich yet pitch-stable FM sounds, by allowing the oscillator to run backwards into ‘negative frequencies’.

The resultant triangle wave is then processed by the through-zero phase modulator, providing a total phase shift range of 900°. Phase modulation offers an interesting alternative for FM, as it enables deep FM-type tones without actually changing the oscillation frequency.

The timbre of a signal is determined by its harmonic content. This full set of harmonics can be grouped into three main parts: the fundamental, even and odd harmonics. Generate 3’s harmonics generator separates out these three timbral ‘channels’. By adjusting their relative amplitudes, a vast array of different waveforms can be created, including but not limited to the classic sine, saw and square waves.

While the amplitudes can be adjusted manually, each timbral channel supports through-zero amplitude modulation, also known as balanced or ring modulation. When audio-frequency modulation signals are applied, the harmonics become ‘split’, enriching the spectrum.

In addition to all the usual analogue synthesis techniques, the extensive set of modulation options makes Generate 3 especially suited for exploring multiphonic synthesis: a monophonic source creating a complex timbre, much like throat singing, yet by electronic means.

Notes: Module A-180-3 is a dual buffered 1-in-3 multiple. The signal applied to the input socket appears as a buffered signal at the three output sockets. Each output has its own buffer, i.e. the three output sockets are not simply connected to each other. The lower output of the upper unit is normalled in the factory to the input of the lower unit. That way the module works as a single 1-in-6 buffered multiple provided that no signal is applied to the input of the lower unit. But it's also possible to pick-up the bus CV and normalize the input socket of the lower unit to the bus CV.

Notes: Loquelic Iteritas is a digital VCO with interpretations of three classic synthesis algorithms involving dual pitch control. It creates a huge variety of sounds parameterized by four tone and two pitch controls.

Notes: Javelin is a module that is basically an ADSR envelope with integrated VCA. However, it has several features that make the module an expressive sound shaping tool.

Notes: While modular synthesisers are most often used as stand-alone instruments, they also present exciting opportunities for processing external signals. Anything from an electric guitar to an effects send on a studio mixing desk can benefit from the unique sonic capabilities of even a modest Eurorack system.

However, patching in an external source usually requires an adapter cable and plenty of clean gain to bring the signal to Eurorack level. If the signal source is balanced, a balanced input is required as well to provide the best possible interference rejection.

Receive 2 (or RX2 for short) provides a convenient all-in-one solution. It offers two universal external inputs, which accept both balanced or single-ended signals via XLR or 6.35 mm jack connectors.

The circuit incorporates low-impedance design practices, radio-frequency (RF) filtering and premium balanced receivers to provide transformer-like interconnect performance in a compact and affordable module. And thanks to the electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, it’s rugged enough to survive the rigours of performing on the road.

The very clean integrated pre-amps feature variable gain, ranging from unity to +40 dB on each channel. As a result, Receive 2 can handle just about any signal source you may encounter, including electric instruments, piezoelectric pickups and many dynamic microphones.

Adjusting the gains is a breeze thanks to the dual peak-responding LED meters. A mix output is included as well, so external signals can be easily mixed directly in the module.

Notes: Module A-183-9 is a simple power supply for up to four devices which can be powered via USB (e.g. keyboards, smartphones). An LED shows is the +5V are present.

The module has no USB function but provides only the +5V supply for USB devices.

Note: The module requires an A-100 case with built in power supply A-100PSU3. Only this A-100 supply has the required +5V available. We do not recommend the usage of an older A-100 case with A-100PSU2 as this would require the +5V adapter A-100AD5 and the max. current would be limited to 100mA.

Notes: The 2hp Buff is a buffered multiple capable of splitting an input signal to multiple outputs. Due to its active architecture, inputs retain their full integrity as they are copied to multiple destinations. One input signal can be copied to six outputs, or two inputs can be copied to three outputs each. The Buff is especially great for splitting pitch or audio signals where signal integrity is critical. Keep your signals in shape with Buff.

Notes: Additive synthesis oscillator based on the concept of building up harmonics from sine waves. A complex idea nicely executed for ease of use.

Odessa implements the principle of additive synthesis controlled by a set of carefully tailored macro parameters to harness thousands of sinusoidal partials that altogether form the resulting sound.

The interface is kept simple and accessible, so you can easily build rich and full, great sounding timbres of very complex spectra, that can be either harmonic or inharmonic. Even though inharmonic spectra yield non-periodic waveforms, all partials are frequency related to the common fundamental controlled by a V/oct input. The series of harmonics can be squeezed or spread apart, tilt, and pruned by a comb-like frequency response, resulting in a variety of unearthy sounds. Animating the comb response yields radical effects similar to flanging and phasing. Additional, often sought after features are implemented: through-zero linear frequency modulation, and unison detune: up to 5 copies of the sound can be spread apart for a fat and dense cluster of voices.

There are nine parameters, each controlled by a dedicated knob, so the workflow is as smooth and immediate as possible. Furthermore, every parameter has a dedicated CV input, allowing live animation for organic audio effects. Odessa sports two main outputs for banks of harmonic partials that can be further scaled in frequency, as well as an additional output that can either spit out a square wave or a single sinusoid of the fundamental frequency. Interesting spatial effects, crazy modulation feedbacks as well as synchronisation is possible that way.

The hardware is based on a powerful FPGA chip offering massive parallel computing. The synthesized signal is devoid of aliasing through the entire audio range thanks to intrinsically bandlimited algorithm. A simplified spectral analyser helps you to keep a visual track of what is actually happening to the harmonics.

For even more control over Odessa, you can use the Leibniz subsystem (or just the Lipsk) that can be connected to a header at the back of the module.

Notes: Pico Drum2 is compact yet versatile percussion synthesizer in a 3 HP eurorack module. It features 8 drum synthesis algorithms created to deliver distinct sounds to your modular system. Each algorithm offers a lot of flexibility therefore a big sounding bass drum and a squelchy snare can be dialled in within the same algorithm. It also tracks 1V/Oct and all parameters can be mapped to the CV1 input.

It features AS3340 VCO with three waveforms, a filter inspired by Erica Synths Acidbox and unique features - transistor based suboscillator and two BBD lines that emulate VCO detune creating a sound of massive polysynth from one oscillator.

Accent provides more expression to the bassline, by adding volume and opening the VCF slightly.

The BD808 is the Roland TR-808's Bass Drum circuit adapted for use in Eurorack format and tuned to sound like a machine that comes fresh off the original 80's assembly line. The adaptation to modular format has allowed us to add some special features like independent Accent levels, a high-powered gain stage, dual-input pulse-shaper, and extended decay - all without compromising the signature sound of the TR-808.

A widely used technique with TR-808 machines is to run the drum sounds through outboard amplifiers to add gain and then pass the sound through just about anything to generate additional harmonics caused by clipping and distortion. In the BD808, we have already included this high-powered output gain stage capable of producing signals up to 20Vpp, extending from the original palette of sounds and allowing you to get an assorted array of harmonized bass drums ranging from sharp attacks to crushed tones using this simple yet effective technique! On the inputs, we have also designed a dual pulse-shaper circuit so you can trigger your BD808 with Trigger/Gate signals from step sequencers, clock dividers, or any other pulse/clock sources. This saves you the need to shape the pulses sent to the module and ensuring the same stable sound at its peak power, regardless of differences in your pulse source.

All these little, but unique, features make integrating this legendary sound generator into your modular easy, unleashing the power of real analog drums and making those speaker cones shake.

Notes: The Polaris is a 4-stage cascaded OTA filter designed by David Dixon. It builds on the lineage of the Dr. Octature and Atlantis filters, but with a totally revised core and resonance control. Along with dedicated LP, HP and BP outputs it features a configurable MULTI output capable of an unprecedented 27 different filter modes.

With drive turned down the Polaris is capable of buttery smooth filtering, and the cutoff control range has been fine-tuned for playability. With the drive dialled up and the new asymmetric multi distortion circuit engaged it creates a more aggressive sound. Not content to be just a filter, the Polaris's AP phaser mode combined with frequency modulation can be used to achieve a phaser effect.

With so much versatility in a modest size, the Polaris is an ideal filter for a starter system and an excellent addition to the tonal palette of a larger modular.

Notes: A seriously versatile filter here, much more than meets the eye. Stereo, state-variable, multi-mode design gives you huge control over frequency response and stereo image.

Supplier's Notes:
Zagrzeb is a stereo multimode 4-pole (24dB/oct) state variable voltage-controlled filter (SV VCF). It offers five distinct frequency responses, three of which are available simultaneously. Spread control allows for animation of the stereo image by moving the left and right filter cutoff frequencies in opposite directions. Zagrzeb is designed to sound smooth and clean unless it is overdriven with a hot signal- however, it does not lack character! We believe it will be appreciated by fans of old Japanese synthesizers, but bear in mind that Zagrzeb is not a clone of any existing design. The four-pole state variable structure is a new development and offers unique sonic characteristics. While Zagrzeb is designed for filtering stereo signals (e.g. samples or stereo oscillators like Xaoc Devices Odessa), it can easily handle mono signals and is capable of creating a faux stereo pair thanks to a special phase shifting network at the input.

Notes: Clep Diaz is a handy and small step CV and LFO generator. In step and random modes, use the encoder to control the number of steps in the sequence; in LFO mode, the encoder controls the amplitude of the wave. Toggle the directionality of the sequence: up, down, or up/down to customize the CVs further. CD also gives CV control over the number of steps in the sequence and an end-of-cycle trigger output. Unipolar and bipolar outputs allow maximal control.

Notes: Trim is a 2 channel passive attenuator. It features two individual channels of attenuation.

Notes: Sarajewo is an analog delay module based on old school (but newly manufactured) BBD (Bucket Brigade Delay) chips. It features three delay taps, an external clock input with various tempo sync factors, and a wide range of settings controllable via CV. It is based on high quality components with maximum effort put towards the highest sound quality possible, while still preserving the charm of the BBD technology. The CalTrans solves issues encountered when playing tonal music with a modular system: tracking problems, curves unrelated to Volt per octave ratio, limited octave range, cumbersome transpose, ...

The CalTrans corrects and expands the range of troublesome VCOs and brings V/Oct tracking to anything that oscillates.

Besides calibration, the CalTrans offers live play features. Each channel can be quantized and any combination of them transposed jointly.

A pair of rotary encoders with detent allow an precise selection of octaves and semitones.

VCOs whose tracking doesn't go high enough to follow the leader will see their pitch repositioned in their highest possible octave so that the global harmony is unaffected.

You can add a pinch of portamento and glissando to each channel and save the whole in user presets.

Notes: Voltera is an expander for the Metron trigger and gate sequencer, adding 4 bipolar voltage tracks. Up to 16 Volteras can be connected to a Metron, providing up to 64 CV outputs.

With independent voltage ranges and quantisation settings per track, Voltera allows simultaneous real-time control of 4 different parameters, so you can set the track to the parameter you are sequencing.

Notes: Pluck is a physical modelling synth voice. It uses the Karplus-Strong algorithm to create plucked string sounds. The dampening control sets the size of the string and allows for dramatic timbral shifts.

The DATA is a digital platform for testing, measurement, and signal generation in Eurorack modular synthesis systems. It is a modular tool kit, with functions applicable to any system and style.

Use the DATA's scope to view the interactions between your control voltages and audio signals, allowing you to master your modules by understanding their voltage ranges, control shapes, and parameter responses. Use the DATA's dual waveform generator to dial in a precisely scaled LFO for CV control, or use the waveform's frequency "note mode" to effortlessly make dyads (two note chords). Use the DATA's clock program as a master clock or to divide or multiply an incoming clock signal, sending four different clock outs to gate modules directly or as control to sequencers.

The possibilities of the DATA are basically unlimited; with the included microSD you can update the DATA's firmware and we can continue to refine and create new programs.

The polygonal synthesis is a kind of graphical complex amplitude shaping method. With the help of the built-in modulation sources, polygonal synthesis in polygogo opens up a wide range of sonic possibilities from clicky pinged sequences to unique dark thunderstorms, bass lines, leads and colored noise.

This mighty stereo oscillator impressed the audience with its wide range of possible timbres. The idea of sculpting a shape on the screen of the module that then translates into sound works really well and invites the user to interact with the module.

Notes: 32 unique audio effects arranged in 4 banks of 8 effects. Three effect controls plus analog Dry/Wet control with dedicated CV input. High quality stereo signal pass. Notes: Module A-160 is a frequency divider for clock/trigger/gate signals, designed to be a source of lower frequencies, particularly for rhythm uses. The Trigger input will take clock signals from, e.g. an LFO, MIDI sync, or the gate from a MIDI-CV interface.

At the outputs, you have access to the sub-divided clock signals, from half the clock frequency down to 1/64. The low/high levels of the output signals are 0V and about +10V.

The A-160 also has a reset input. Whenever a reset signal is sensed, all outputs are set to zero, until the reset voltage disappears.

The Clock Divider can be used in combination with the A-161 Clock Sequencer to produce stepped sequences with a length of from one to eight events.

Notes: This is the version II of the original uVCA.

Notes: The Jumble Henge is a 16 input stereo spectral mixer with a unique patch-based mixing interface in a compact space. Each input has a carefully tuned resonant analog filter and a unique fixed pan value, providing each sound its own space within the mix. There is a Mix control to adjust the depth of the filtering and a clean external stereo input for chaining with another mixer or extra sound source. Jumble Henge is a space efficient solution for creating rich stereo mixes from a number of both mono and stereo sources.

INPUTS
Vertical and horizontal patch position determines a source's spectral and stereo placement in the mix respectively.

Aside from centred inputs, every input sits in its own unique pan position, helping to keep a separation between sounds but building a complete stereo image when combined.

The centre right inputs of the top two rows are normalised to the centre left inputs. - i.e if just a left input is patched it will be effectively panned center.

Towards the highs the panning becomes wider - as the human ear better pinpoints direction at higher frequencies, whereas the lows remain more centred for a tighter, more focused sound.

MIX CONTROL
Mix control for the overall depth of the filters applied to the inputs. Note: a slight volume increase occurs near the centre of the dial.

EXTERNAL INPUT
An additional clean stereo input pair for chaining with another mixer or additional source. Right input normalised to left input to accomodate mono sources.

These modules use tall bushing potentiometers to offer a more stable feel.

Notes: Gorgeous stereo implementation of the classic frequency shifter sound, moving from tonal harmonics to atonal disharmony effortlessly. Separate outputs for down and up shifts, plus plenty of CV control.

Koszalin is a full stereo frequency shifter with two inputs and four outputs. If offers simultaneous exponential and linear through-zero control of the amount of frequency shift in 3 carefully scaled ranges (up to +/- 5kHz). Frequency shifting results in linear translation of signal spectrum producing all kinds of atonal sounds. It should not be confused with frequency scaling, also known as pitch shifting. Several stereo feedback topologies are offered with additional density control besides feedback depth, which results in spectacular stereo barberpole effects.

Through-zero modulation allows for using Koszalin's input as an FM operator. Koszalin is a digital module with a DSP behind an analog interface.
