Review: Blowing With The Wind is the second August Pablo album to get the reissue treatment this month following on from 1986's Rising Sun. This one came in 1990 when the legendary dubber had fully updated his original sound with more modern aesthetics and digital techniques. It picked up rave reviews and proved to be one of the artists' most successful records since the seventies. It is defined by a mix of nyahbinghi drumming and hardcore steppers that was fully embraced by the sound system culture of the tie and took Pablo to new heights in the Far East, culminating with a tour of Japan.

Review: Little John was only nine years old when he first made his mark on the reggae world. That was back in 1979 in Jamaica and was in the form of an uncredited collaboration with Captain Sinbad on 51 Storm for Sugar Minott's Black Roots label. His epic Unite album saw him come good on his early talent with dancehall-style riddims that are raw, rugged and rough. They are authentic and represent the true sound of young Jamaicans. Almost 40 years later it is still a killer collection of cuts imbued with youthful energy and ready to rock your nearest sound system.

Review: Michael 'Palmer Dog' Palmer was one of the most notable dancehall vocalist of his era. He became quickly popular after appearing with plenty of sound systems and perfecting his unique improvisational techniques on the mic. That helped him standout in an overcrowded market and kept him popular with DJs who were turning reggae away from what it was becoming and turning it back to what it once was. This album first came in 1984 and showcased Palmer's singing style well with The Roots Radics serving as his backing band. A mini classic for sure.

Review: At King Tubby's With The Roots Radics sounds a bit like the sort of text message a kid out too late might send her worried mum. It's also the name of this killer album which finds Barry Brown providing some super vocal work to killer rhythms initially laid down by the in house band Roots Radics and then twisted into psyched out stoner soundscapes by the one and only studio wizard The Scientist. He really gets deep here and EQs hard while masterfully dubbing Brown out of the picture.

It is their debut album and has not been reissued in many years so is a sought after title that features members who went on to form the Roots Radics band. It is a raw and stripped back sound and on this new reissue two exclusive new bonus cuts are included next to the original track list. Review: U Brown was a key part of the roots and lovers rock scene of the 80s and his standout 1983 album Jam It Tonight had many a great hit. No Stoppin' This Music is a compilation of the best bits from it, all cut at Channel One with the Roots Radics. It's a great snapshot of peak-era Brown with cuts like 'Reggae Gone International' a celebratory take of the 'Pick A Dub' rhythm, superb reworks of the 'Take Five' rhythm in the form of 'Blow Mr Hornsman Blow' all sweeping you up on a vibe. A great addition to the racks for any roots lovers.
