Having launched Black Venison with the Benz EP back in 2014, James Vorres returns to his own imprint for the first time since. He's in full-on floor-friendly mode from the off, layering up iconic diva vocals, woozy chords and bumpin' beats before unleashing weighty sub-bass on anthem-like opener "Brique". S Olbricht remixes the same track, underpinning a hardcore-era breakbeat and pitched-up vocal stabs with sustained analogue bass notes. On the flip, Vorres goes deeper and woozier on the deliciously tactile "Innerside", before completing an excellent EP with the swinging goodness of U.S garage revivalist number "Gonnaarp". An EP that's all hits, with no misses.
