The Young Senators released two EP's back in 1976: one called Boogie Time, and another called Ride The Tide. The sound was laid-back, sleazy and full of that boogie slack, but another single of there's called "Ringing Bells" was never released... until now, that is, and courtesy of the unstoppable Numero Group. "Ringing Bells (Sweet Music)" is a classic Detroit soul banger, deep and spacious but fast-paced and built for the dance. "Ringing Bells (Sweet Music) Part 2" is where things really start to get hypnotic - the song is a percussive, psyched-out continuation of the original, and it's one of the best soul B-sides we've heard in a while. Warmly recommended.
